LO is 15 weeks. He drinks about 5-6oz and he's about 14.5lbs. he takes his last bottle at 730-8 and he'll be up by 5-6am. His morning feeding is the whole 6ozs.
I want to move bedtime to 730, 8 (now 9) but I'm scared hell be up for he day at 5! Does your LO go back down for a nap soon after waking up? 6 will be grrat when I go back to work at the end of August but 5 am is scary to me now.
If he wakes at 5 he goes back to sleep after his bottle til 730-8. If he wakes at 6 he'll be up for about an hr and then he'll nap for about 2hrs
Should I be concerned that LO has poop every diaper change for the last 3 days? This is what's contributing to his sore butt, I think.
Any recent shots or illness? I would use some Triple Paste and maybe wipe with a warm wash cloth after each poop and dry his bottom before putting on the new diaper and see if it helps. Is he eating and peeing normally?

He's not fussing. He's eating and peeing with no problems. The sore butt was clearing up and now it's getting red again with all the diaper changes. I've been trying to let him go without a diaper for a bit but its been difficult. No shots till his 4 month visit in July. I still need to go purchase some triple paste.

When ds had a bad diaper rash that wouldn't go away we were told not to use wipes, just to use wet paper towels until it cleared. It helped diaper changes not hurt.

I've been splashing water on his butt to avoid wiping. Only problem is that I have to undress him every changing

J is red and irritated under his chins, thanks to lots of drool and making a mess when he eats. We are doing everything we can to clean it and keep it dry. Is there something we can use/do to help clear it up? We've done lanolin and A & D ointment so far. It doesn't seem to bother him, but if I can do more to help out, that would be awesome.

Okay, is anyone tear free at bed time? I woudn't call it a witching hour any more since its only like 20 mins, but I'd love to do without the crying. It's hard to do a bedtime routine that includes a book when I'm trying to read over a screaming baby. I try though. It's quite entertaining.

Maybe earlier bed time? I'll admit E is not much of a crier but when she's overtired she screams her head off and is hard to calm down. So I try to avoid hitting that point

I would say if it's causing stress and tears to maybe only do it when LO is handling it and not getting worked up. Might make bedtime easier for you.

We never really had a bedtime routine, just a brief one but we have even given that up. She puts herself to sleep 90% of the time naps and bedtime, so I am not too worried. It's not cry free though. If she isn't crying I will take my time but if she is I just hurry up and feed her. Then when I put her down in the side car she usually cries a bit and then stops and goes to sleep. Sometimes I have to go back in and lay with her or nurse her a bit more if she won't settle.
If she is crying or it's stressing you I would drop the book for now.

If my LO is exhausted and over tired he'll cry and scream for a bit (15min or so) we try to not get to that point but it does happen occasionally.

Some babies just fuss to sleep. M is one of them. If bedtime is timed well it's not screaming, but lots of fussing and some noise. It's just how she falls asleep. I don't like it, but it is what it is.

This seems so counter productive. Like if my nose is sore, I do not want to even think of wiping it with a paper towel.

Has anyone tried using the nose frida yet? We used it over the weekend because K is super congested and she SCREAMED bloody murder. It also sounds like I'm sucking her brains out with it. I know that's not even close to possible, but still.

I have a different brand, and M didn't like it, but it definitely helped and I got snot out. Be gentle and slow and make sure you have the smallest nostril tool if there's more than one.

Great suggestion! I'll look and see if they make smaller adapters. What brand do you have?

It's called Baby ComfyNose. I like the sized adapters and that it doesn't need separate filters.
Is anyone else's LO not rolling? K rolled at 5 weeks, but she's 3 months now and hasn't really rolled since then.
*raises hand*
K rolled at 6 weeks belly to back, rolled once a day for a week, then once a week, and she hasn't rolled in weeks.
She seems to be one of these kids who does it once and then moves on to the next thing. She now tries to pull herself to standing every time we make her sit.

LO doesn't like it either but I try to be quick and efficient. Did you spray some saline first to loosen up the junk?

No. I haven't used saline drops yet. I didn't really get the purpose. Should I get some?
@sheliathetank LO screams bloody murder for all snot sucking we have tried a few different ones. She just hates it, I try and be quick, she stops crying as soon as it's done. Also how have you not had to suck until now?! That's impressive!
@rachellilly23 LO is obsessed with rolling but I feel like we are in the minority, a lot of kids don't roll or do it a few times and move on.
We use cloth wipes at home and only the other ones when we are out. No diaper rashes so far, no clue if that's why but our doc said the same thing about the wipes not being good for their bums and you shouldn't use them at every change.
No rolling here. All of my kids have hated tummy time so they never get much time to learn. 5 minutes tops before meltdown mode. Pretty sure it was 6 months before our DD was rolling both ways and she was already sitting up by then!

There chemicals in wipes made the rash worse and it burned when we would wipe. Diaper changes became much less of a scream fest if we switched to paper towels (or any other soft cloth with just water) as soon as we started seeing any red.

Why the heck would they make wipes with chemicals that make rashes worse! That's so incredibly stupid.

I've used it sporadically. B is a weirdo and thinks it's funny. She usually coos & grins afterwards. The only times she screamed/freaked out is if I sucked too long trying to get the boogies. But even then once she takes a deep breath & noticed she can breathe better, she's back to smiling.
