I haven't really noticed too many people asking me so far about nursing. But I do HATE the question "is she a good baby?"
As for touching LO. No one ever touched DD1. Now all of a sudden old ladies think it's ok to touch E, including her face. Or worse, the old lady who was talking to her and was all "ohh look at you, is he heavy? (girl thank you). ohh what's this you have here? (as she PULLS at E's paci in her mouth)". Please don't touch my baby. I really don't know how to handle those situations, I don't want to be rude, but please keep your hands off her face. Touch her feet if you NEED to touch a baby. DH doesn't even like when people stop to look at her lol. I had some 10 year old girls ask me Monday if they could touch her, I said no but you cant look at her. At least they asked though!
In my culture it's rude if you don't touch baby. They call it "ojo" meaning sending bad luck or mean spirits. Mostly touching baby on feet, hands or head. So I don't mind it. But, I can see how a stranger touching your baby is odd and weird.
This is very interesting. What culture are you a part of?

Latino culture. It's more of an old wives tale. My aunts usually say it.
Liked for the excellent photo, not the teething. FX it comes in quickly.
LOTR FTW!! Acronyms galore! Seriously, tho, W's nursery is going to have the map of the LOTR world. And, yes, W doesn't have a nursery set up yet. He is sleeping our room, so no rush.

We LOVE Tolkien. And MH really wanted a leather replica of the map of Middle Earth to put up on our living room wall, but hello expensive!
Meh, we have a nursery that isn't being used. So much easier to piece together over months and be perfect when they are all set
Thought it was just a cold, but she feels so warm. Trying cool cloths and nursing as much as I can but with a sniffling nose its jard for her to eat. Constantly sucking boogers out my poor baby

I thought my one friend from HS whose parents also have a beach house near by was coming to see me but she surprised me and all my HS friends came! So sweet!

How to tell who does the majority of baby care in our house. When E spits up on dh he leaves her screaming to wash with soap and water and then to hunt down baby wipes. E spits up on me I look for the nearest thing to wipe it off with without moving the baby and carry on. Lol

I have to use the monitor if H is napping with her in the room. He literally just sleep through me snot suckering her (hysterical crying) and putting her down for a nap.

H has a long weekend. He was off Friday too. So every night since Thursday night he has been up to at least 3am plying video games. And he's been playing them during the day when he's awake. It's so freaking annoying I want to stab his eyeballs out. Because of course I'm the one dealing with my kids while he sleeps or is playing said games. And it doesn't seem to matter how much I nag or complain about it.
Ok H, you can play this game. I'll play it right back. You can just dream about sex since that's not in your future.

MIL update....she was here about 2.5 hrs and never asked to hold B. B was actually only awake for maybe an hour while she was here bc she was cranky & went down for her nap early.

So I laughed about my dh earlier and the baby vomit. I have to give him bonus points though. Today E was being really difficult and I could not get her to sleep half the day. He took her for a walk in the stroller to get her to sleep for me before I lost my mind.

I think some people just aren't baby people. My mil probably held DS twice in the six days she was here. She does a lot more with the toddler now that she's not a baby anymore and they have a close relationship. I think she is nervous to hold babies in general.
I just want her to nap without being held!!!! I'm losing my mind.
I hear ya! S used to be a great napper, now he only sleeps 25 min when not being held. He also is still up every 3 hours at night. I'm so sleep deprived and bitchy, I feel sorry for MH
I know I shouldn't complain because she sleeps great at night but I'm alone all day with a 2 year old and a baby who will only sleep on me. It's exhausting.

Yea but she called H that morning and asked to come see B. She lives 1.5hrs away. Like whatever I don't care; she & I do not have a good relationship. But mostly I think she does stuff for 'how it appears' and isn't sincere in it. I think she's a phony, narcissistic person, who wants the world to revolve around her.

So I have being going to PT for a few weeks now (I hurt my back related to pregnancy, story for another time) and my normal physical therapist is not working today so she set me up with a new therapist who specializes in "pre and post-natal". First off, she checks my diastasis and I have a THREE FINGER separation, which I am pretty angry about because I thought I was doing all the right things to avoid a diastasis. Second, she does an u/s of my bladder and asks me to do a kegel, so I do one, and she says "go ahead and do it now". And I'm all "uh, I AM doing it...?" Not good. So we get into this conversation about how important PT is after baby and she tells me that in other countries it is a standard of care to have 6 weeks of PT while pregnant and then a 6 week PP visit with a PT, and 6 more weeks of post-natal PT if needed!! Anyway, I just wanted to share. I thought it was really interesting, and after three kids, I was totally unaware. If you have the time, it might be worth asking your OB/midwife for a check-up with a PT that specializes in pelvic health, I am really glad I did, even if it was by accident!
