I closed on/sold my rent house (which was my starter home before H) today. I'm both relieved to be done with and also pissed bc the final $ amt I'm walking away with is WAY less than had been estimated to me and below my initial down payment, which was the bare minimum that I wanted to get back.
It's been a long stressful day of traveling with B alone almost 4hrs round trip with added paperwork stress & missteps. I didn't even get my net to seller check bc of the mistake; it's been overnighted. Plus I even had to write a check to cover an addition repair invoice that hadn't been submitted.

I hear ya! S used to be a great napper, now he only sleeps 25 min when not being held. He also is still up every 3 hours at night. I'm so sleep deprived and bitchy, I feel sorry for MH
I know I shouldn't complain because she sleeps great at night but I'm alone all day with a 2 year old and a baby who will only sleep on me. It's exhausting.
I'm struggling with this too.. she will nap on her own for 40 minutes, then within an hour she's over tired and needs to go back down, but fights it so there's a lot of screaming. Then repeat and repeat and repeat. She was napping 3 hours if I held her but stopped the past 2 days. I'm really hoping it ends soon because I am not enjoying this cranky baby. I feel like I'm either feeding her or trying to get her to sleep and nothing else.

I'm cranky if you can't tell.
Ugh! That sucks! :/ I hope the estimate on mine is close to correct otherwise I'm not going to be able to afford the down payment on the new house...
I got a 2.5 hour morning nap in the crib today! Longest we've had in awhile. Then he slept during errands this afternoon and is now asleep in the carrier. I'm concerned about tonight... I know everybody says sleep begets sleep, but I'm still skeptical.
ETA, I didn't actually get a 2.5 hour nap in the crib, E did. Although, I would have probably enjoyed it way more than he did.
There is a robin's nest on the awning on top of our deck and we just didn't have the heart to take it down before the babies left. Now, when the doorwall door is open I can hear the little baby birds chirping for food whenever the mom comes back to the nest. She literally spends her entire day gathering food for her babies. Like, she does nothing else. Unless she flies around for awhile to get a break before going back. Either way, I'm impressed. Good job mama bird.

How did B do on the trip/at close?
B was great. She does great in the car and sleeps the whole time. I fed her while they were getting the paperwork straightened out. She probably behaved better than me in fact. I was pretty unnerved when I saw what I was getting back. I changed B on the conference table, after we had finished signing, and left the poopy diaper in the trash can as a souvinier. I just don't understand how there was that big of a discrepancy in fees/costs.

+1 to baby napping on me. I'm worried about how she will do at daycare. She has had a few long naps on her own but often it's 45 minutes or so and then she wakes up to finish on me. I enjoy the snuggles but I'd also enjoy some free time!
We usually do afternoon nap in the car bc E does great on car rides. I also love driving and feel "free" when I'm in the car, I know that's weird, haha.
My mom watches DD two days a week while i am at work, and still naps her in the RNP - she gets great naps in there! But i am in the same boat as pps, mostly 30-45 minute naps in the crib. Ugh.

Yes please.
Choose electronic delivery of the gift card and make a typo in your email to make it undeliverable (I usually just put myemail@gmail.co). When the electronic GC can not be delivered they will just credit it to your order.

This is us the past few days too. Really over it. She won't stay asleep anywhere.

Struggling with naps here too, but that's nothing new.
I was really close to making the decision to stay home through the end of the year because we were having such a hard time finding child care, but I finally heard back from an in home daycare and we have an interview set up for tomorrow. Not excited to go back to commuting an hour each way to a job I don't love. I don't know what to do.
So I just signed up for a mom and baby yoga class. I have always loved yoga and am pretty excited, but I am a little nervous how S will behave.
Has anyone taken a mom and baby yoga class? Any tips/tricks/rants/raves?
I have from week 6-11. Sometimes E slept through the whole class. Sometimes I nursed and held her through the whole class. Sometimes she got to participate. Lol. You kinda go with the flow. Don't worry about how he's behaving. My instructor was able to give me things to do different when she was asleep or when I was holding her. She'd also take a baby if they were cranky so mom could participate.

This!!! I can only go by weekends as I work during the day, but he doesn't even make it to 40 mins for naps. He instantly wakes up every time I put him down. This is so not easy with a 2.5 year old running around too. He only seems happy when I'm holding him while he sleeps or when he's eating. I feel like I feed him all the time because nothing works!
I've taken them a few times. I didn't get much yoga in because my babies never just chill out, but it was nice to be around other new moms.
[
Yeah, S isn't always the most chill of babies, hence the nervousness about going, but I'm looking forward to the yoga and meeting people!
If you're interested in trying again I can give you the details
Definitely! I probably won't be able to make it this week because my toddler is sick and it's contagious. I'm hoping DS doesn't catch it but I don't want to risk spreading it to other babies! PM me the details though and I'll try to go next week.
We FINALLY got A to take a bottle from someone besides me!!! This is huge. We tried a different kind of bottle and I started and then passed her to DH. He was able to give her almost the whole bottle before she freaked out. I think we're gonna do the same thing for a few nights and then try to have him start. I have a ton of milk in my freezer and was worried it would all go to waste because she wasn't taking bottles. Hopefully she keeps it up!

Good friends of ours had their 4th child on Friday, a girl who was 3.5 weeks early. The mom had mentioned possibly being induced, but she ended up with a c section. Well, the day after baby was born, we found out she has congenital heart disease. Then today we found out she was confirmed to have down syndrome. The baby will be in the NICU for awhile, possibly a year. Their whole lives are turned upside down. The dad has a very demanding military job and the hospital she delivered at is over an hour away from their home, so the mom and other kids will have to be in an extended stay place close to the hospital. I just can't imagine what they are going through.

Oh my! I'm so sorry. Sending thoughts and prayers their way.
We had our first parenting group meeting tonight. I learned:
1.) My kid is the fussiest of the 9 2.) I might have PPD based on the test I took.
Overall it was a great evening. Hahahaha
DS1 was a very fussy baby. It was tough. Please try to reach out to a friend or family member if you are feeling blue. And know that anyone of us here can be a listening ear. PPD is no joke. Hugs!

Wow. That is a lot for a family to be hit with. A year in the NICU? That is going to be tough, especially with 3 older kids. Was the heart defect missed at the a/s?

This is so horribly sad. Is there a Ronald McDonald house nearby that can offer any assistance? There must be a social worker at the hospital trying to help them find arrangements, right? I can't imagine the heartbreak the family, especially your friend, is going through right now.

Sounds like a rough night. Did you discuss your test with your H/partner? It would be worth getting a referral, or chatting with your doc to get a better analysis and the right help for you if you need it.

So I have being going to PT for a few weeks now (I hurt my back related to pregnancy, story for another time) and my normal physical therapist is not working today so she set me up with a new therapist who specializes in "pre and post-natal". First off, she checks my diastasis and I have a THREE FINGER separation, which I am pretty angry about because I thought I was doing all the right things to avoid a diastasis. Second, she does an u/s of my bladder and asks me to do a kegel, so I do one, and she says "go ahead and do it now". And I'm all "uh, I AM doing it...?" Not good. So we get into this conversation about how important PT is after baby and she tells me that in other countries it is a standard of care to have 6 weeks of PT while pregnant and then a 6 week PP visit with a PT, and 6 more weeks of post-natal PT if needed!! Anyway, I just wanted to share. I thought it was really interesting, and after three kids, I was totally unaware. If you have the time, it might be worth asking your OB/midwife for a check-up with a PT that specializes in pelvic health, I am really glad I did, even if it was by accident!
Huh! Thanks for sharing! Sounds like it's been quite frustrating for you. It's great that you're getting good advice and care, but sucky that it keeps happening only by accident. Fingers crossed for you that the PT helps you heal better!!

chatterbox, you had an eventful last week with birthday and moving, right? Sorry I missed it at the time, but hope you had a good birthday and that the dust is settling from your move.
