Ugh bad night. He was up every 2 hours. I changed two things. Not sure if either are the cause. First I took the towels out from under his bassinet mattress to make an incline. And then I didn't unswaddle him for feedings. I wonder if he didn't get good enough feeds without being unswaddled? I feel for all those who are up every 2 hours every night. Luckily DH is letting me have a nap right now. Good night.

mrssqueegy hope you get some rest! teraiin have fun at the sale today! Can't wait to hear what good finds you get! We're at the lake one last time before school starts next week. A seems to be feeling better today after a bummer day yesterday. He had a fever, ate almost nothing (so uncharacteristic) and slept a ton. I'm glad he seems to be better. This afternoon were planning to take the boat out and cove out and have a picnic lunch and swim. I hope Cam cooperates and naps on the boat so I can get in the water too! Also I think the bouncer's days are numbered. Cam likes to sit up higher than the bouncer allows. He keeps pulling his shoulders up to sit up more and gets frustrated when he can't. I think I'm going to try the swing again soon. It sits up a little more. Although once I go back to work I don't think he'll have much "down" time in the evenings. I'm going to want all the snuggles I can get!

DD didn't sleep great. She is trying to roll over on her tummy at night but can't because of her Merlin suit. Thank God because she hates her tummy and I know I would have to spend the whole night turning her back. She woke me up 3 times and one of those times, she didn't even want to eat! I have no clue what to do with her.

We had a rough night, too. Between H stubbing his toe on the way to bed, waking DS early, then me knocking a picture off the wall in the hall in a MOTN feed, the kid is totally off his schedule. He woke every 1.5-2 hours last night and is soooo fussy this morning.
To top it off I wanted to go to my work to get my OB to fill out the "back to work paperwork", but I forgot because of the crap sleep last night and I'm just waking up... I go back Monday, and it's already late. Ugh. I need to get ready quickly and head up there.
Yesterday went well! I had a good meeting with my boss who reassured me 40 hours a week will be no problem and there is a definite possibility that I can get more if I want. Yay! It still sucks they can't hire me (the new designer is actually just a transfer from another facility that needed to lay off employees) but I'm glad to have a full time paycheck.
Since my boss doesn't have me officially starting until Monday I worked on my portfolio yesterday and have been applying for jobs today. I love the company I work for but I need the stability and PTO would be great!
DS did great at daycare and even slept pretty well last night, only waking twice. YAY! But H does the second wake up and the past few nights he's been wasting the milk. DS hasn't been drinking but an ounce or two out of a 4 ounce bottle and then last night H said DS fell asleep about the time the bottle was done heating! A whole bottle wasted We can't put it back in the fridge once it's been heated, right?

Sorry for the rough night
DS has like 3 spots on his floor that creak and I look like silly trying to jump around them as I walk out of his room! I hate when I step on one and he jerks awake!! And his door started creaking too - going to need H to fix that!

Absolutely yes put it back in the fridge. I never throw out milk unless it's gone bad. Too precious.

I normally throw out if it's been heated ... I read it looses nutrition, but I actually don't know lol - just smell it
I'm glad your talk with your boss went good gahorseygal, but I don't blame you for wanting something with more stability and PTO
I got the kids off to daycare this morning and I'm at work pumping right now. I have a wedding rehearsal and dinner tonight. Since hubby is still out of town I'm gonna drop the kids off at my MILs. It's about an 1.5 hour trip each way. So I've got a full day ahead of me! But hubby should get back around midnight tonight!

I bet she would love sleeping on her tummy! Maybe try no Merlin for a night or two and see how she does!

I'm glad things at work are good for you!
+1 I hate throwing out milk but if it's lost its nutrition then it's not really beneficial :/ I doubt it's gone sour but it's your call!

gahorseygal +1! Is that wake up around 3am by chance?
Question- For those of you who have LO 's who sleep long stretches at night, do you pump to relieve the engorgement before they wake up to nurse? Or just wait until they wake up and deal with the discomfort? It doesn't happen every night but when L sleeps her long stretches, my boobs are hurting and I always question whether I should pump or just wait it out.

I tried for naps and she screams hysterically. She has always hated her tummy so I wish she would just quit rolling on to it! Lol I need to let her just roll over and cry it out for about 5 mins and see what happens probably. I'm also working HARD to teach her to roll belly to back so she can just put herself in whatever position she chooses!

I just wait. If it's awful, I will hand express a tiny bit. I always pump after first morning feed so I feed and then pump (around 7am) and get a ton on the days she sleeps forever and just bank it for later.

Ugh we just hit the worse traffic like dead standstill because someone broke down. But we're on our way now! We're heading to VA today and Dh is in a wedding there tomorrow then tomorrow night we will make our 16 hour drive home 😬
Lo had two wakeups last night. 1:30 and 6:30. I don't mind because he will go back to sleep for a few hours after he eats at 6:30 but won't at 7:30. He's on hour two of his first nap today in the crib.

Seriously??? I'm telling H! I almost cried. A whole 4 ounces down the drain!! H was all - well at least we didn't pay for it....

I go to the sink and hand express until it's more comfortable. I'm too lazy to get up and pump.

I don't get up in the night but since going back to work, I have been pumping when I get up at 5:30. He usually only eats off of one side around 3 am so usually only one of them is really engorged. I pump that one and then he eats off of the other side when he gets up about 6:30.

Where did you guys read that milk loses its nutrition after being heated? I've never heard that before. That makes no sense for all the people with lipase issues who scald their milk.
