I'm just trying to catch up now. Today was cleaning lady day which is awesome! The cat puked and she cleaned it up for me!!! LM and I went to Chipolte and then grocery shopping. He's now napping and miserable from the 4 molars that decided to come in at the same time.
After seeming perfectly fine this morning, we have a sick piglet here...poor B woke up from a 2+ hour nap around 1, and had a fever of almost 102. Poor kiddo...he's just lethargic and fussy. My mom came by for a visit, which was a help, and DH is home now and is rocking B in the nursery.
Guys, is it weird that I have names in my head that I use for the babies that I only know their first initial? They're just random names that pop in my head. For instance kfran84 your babies name is Christopher and for some reason mellochello your little ones name is Lamar! I go back and forth between Emmaline and Elodie for your little one kamakaziartist.
Hahaha That's funny. CBH is short for Captain Baby-Head.
LO is the 4th, so has the same name as DH, and it's fairly unique, so I worry that it would be too easily traceable to us for me to use here.
cagoldi I kept catching bits and pieces that something was wrong with/at your daycare and immediately thought, "measles!" I'm glad it's not that, but I'd be irritated, too.
@peachsmama congrats! I hope things will work out for you with the new job...it's nice to have options.

Stuck in the box!! So funny! My C has what I consider to be a fairly unique name as well, which is why I haven't shared his name either. Maybe they have the same name
I just got off work and am now waiting for my own doctor's appointment. Work was stressful just because I had a lazy resident that I wanted to strangle all day. I am not sick, just thought that maybe I should establish a PCP for myself and have routine health screening type things.
I hope all of the sickies feel better and everyone's snot dries up soon. cagoldi Your DC is crazy. How annoying. @peachsmama Congrats on an interview! That sounds promising.
Re: Carter's and Old Navy sales- I really want to buy M cute summer clothes, but I don't know what size to buy. I'd like to think that she will grow and need 18 month sizes, but I'm not convinced that she won't still be in 12 month stuff. So maybe that means I should order both sizes? I mean, surely by the end of the summer she will need 18 months, right?
Re: Vaccinations and anti-vax morons- Dear God, help me. I wish people knew how much money most pediatrician a lose on vaccines, particularly for children with government funded insurance. It really is bad business for them to vaccinate because the reimbursement does not even cover the cost of the vaccines. And, if we were really talking about making money, I would tell no one to vaccinate just to help ensure job security and to increase the more highly reimbursable money making things such as hospitalization and procedures. However, nobody goes in to pediatrics for the money. That is very stupid. If you are in medicine for the money, go into some surgical subspecialty, anesthesiology, interventional cardiology, or dermatology, anything besides pediatrics! People go into pediatrics because they actually care about children and keeping them healthy. That is why pediatricians want children to be vaccinated. Because they give a shit. It is not a conspiracy. Nobody is hiding bad vaccine outcomes from the public. Actual true, legitimate vaccine adverse events are extremely rare. Every stupid little thing gets reported to VAERS, regardless of if it is actually related to the vaccines or not. A temporal association of two things does not by any means mean that one caused the other or that the two things are even at all related. The stupidity of these people kills me. I could go on and on, but I don't want to raise my blood pressure any more before my appointment.

Perfectly stated, as always. Pediatricians make a good living, but not as good as many other specialties and sure as hell not by injecting kids with needless chemicals.
Ok, I just went a little bit crazy at Carters while B napped. BUT it was 50% off, with an additional 25% off if you spend more than $50. So that's practically free, right?
I would like to buy myself some new clothes, but in another #FWW scenario, I really can't find much that I like for "everyday". Banana Republic and Ann Taylor are failing me so far this season. I need color. Basically, I just want to live a life where Lilly Pulitzer is appropriate for everyday. Guess I need to marry rich and move to Palm Beach.
ETA: also, Kate Spade is doing a sale right now, up to 75% off. So if your tax refund wasn't already burning a hole in your pocket...
@peachsmama that's great news! I hope you get the job! Good luck on the interview!
Today was fucken hot, so we went to the beach
Also, I don't know if there's sprouts farmers market grocery store outside of California but they are having a sale on happy tot organic pouches 5 for 5$! I just went crazy and bought 30. I hope the girl eats them.
ggandlee can I carry you around in my pocket while I take on anti-vaxxers? I'll keep you fed. It will be worth your time and energy.
I love good food and I despise cooking. I will totes whore myself out in the name of vaccinations and public health and safety for free good food. Done.
@mothereffer our Ped says no cough syrup but I couldn't get a straight answer why. ggandlee any thoughts? In a fit of desperation I have him some Zarbees baby and it worked within a half hour.
Cough syrups as well as combination cough/cold medications are not ever recommended for young children, particularly less than 2-4 years old for several reasons. First, and most importantly, they can have some potentially dangerous side effects. Second, they really don't work very well. So, the little to no benefit with the potential risk for dangerous side effects makes cough medicines/suppressants not ever advisable to young children. Prescription cough meds are essentially the same as the over the counter stuff. When a young child has a bad cough it is often because they are clearing secretions from their airway. If there are secretions that they need to clear, it can be dangerous to suppress that cough reflex. A bad cough is very annoying and frustrating, particularly when it is inducing vomiting or disrupting sleep, but it is not dangerous. As far as the Zarbees, the baby one is primarily just agave nectar and child one is primarily honey in addition to some other natural ingredients. These are safer for young children. I tell families that they can give babies over a year old a small amount of honey and tea for a cough. It basically just helps to soothe the throat and may possibly help to loosen and thin some mucus. Also you can try a humidifier and Vicks vaporub. These all fall into the "may or may not help but won't hurt" category. By far the most helpful thing to do for a snotty baby with a cough is aggressive nasal suction with plenty of saline spray. I find that most parents don't use enough saline, and usually don't hold their kid down and suction as frequently or aggressively as they should. The saline helps to thin and loosen thick, sticky secretions so that you can get more out when you suction, and so that the baby can better tolerate the secretions that you can't get with the suction. You really have to give it a good squirt or two as opposed to just a few drops. When I suction M, I give a couple of good sprays of saline in each nostril, let it sit for a minute while I sing her a stupid song, then close one nostril while I insert the Nose Frida as far in as needed to completely seal around the tip, then I suck like hell till I think I may pass out. I do this until I get it all and then move on to the other side. I think that is probably more than you asked for.
I've only been able to pop in and out all day today because I've been busy. Get well to all the sick babies and mommies. rebeccag428 what stroller do you have now that you don't like? I've been thinking about starting a thread reviewing different baby products we've bought since we've used them for a while now. I don't know if anyone else wants to see that though.

The Wish Garden is homeopathic so I didn't have high hopes, but it does the trick. I checked with our pedi to make sure none of the herbs would interact with any of his prescriptions and she gave the green light. Pete picked up some Zarbee's today, too, so we'll be trying that soon. I think mwhipple77 said it's worked well for Evie.
kamakaziartist I would tell you how lovely the beach looked today, but you would probably never forgive me. I had to run the air conditioner this afternoon so A could nap comfortably.
I totally did offer A a PB cookie for breakfast, and again at dinner. He didn't accept it. Pete was teasing me about shuttling A over to SB to get him a passion tea lemonade and then new flowers for his room. He says my new hobby is spoiling The Dude. Then he ran to the store to get his Silk but came back with a mini succulent garden and Elmo toy cell phone. Who's spoiling him now?
Also, has anyone ever cracked up while gargling warm salt water? OUCH. Pete decided it was a good time to sing R. Kelly's "Trapped In The Closet" just to make me laugh. He must be trying to kill me.
Doug does not give a shit about sleeping. Why does 20 extra minutes of nap equal being awake for 3 hours? I need to stop letting him nap so long. That feels really wrong.

YES! Start that thread! I would love to know what works and what doesn't.
Okay, so we got a travel set the summer of 2013 when it just came out. Summer infant fuze, the set was 800$ Worst. POS. Ever I wish someone told me that everything that is summer infant is junk. I know this now and I will never buy anything SI ever.
Next stroller is Valco Spark Single Stroller I wanted to love this stroller so much but the frame broke within the first month. I was able to get my money back, thank god!
So right now I'm using that awful POS fuze. When I get the new stroller, I'm planning on going all The office Space on it. (The printer scene)
