I was up a couple times but other than adding feedings/diaper changes to my tracker app I try to stay off my phone. Don't want the light to wake me up too much - need to go back to sleep once R does!
I have the opposite problem: if I don't bring my phone out, I will fall asleep right where I sit.
Hence me posting at 1:40am
+1...earlier I fell asleep scrolling through a thread...

I'm trying to decide how long I should wait after giving A his bottle before trying to sleep a little. He's already spit up and pooped so I think I'll wait a little longer then set an alarm for a couple hours.
Ever since getting home from the hospital my feet have been swollen. Anyone else experience this? It didn't say anything about it in the discharge papers.

A little swelling is normal. How swollen are we talking?? If it's really bad you might want to call.

serendipity731 - Swelling, especially in your feet, is normal. I'd been swelling the last few months of pregnancy and my dr and nurses all told me it might get worse before it got better.
Try to keep your feet up. Don't let them hang down while your sitting if you can help it. I'm now 11 days out from delivery and my feet and ankles are the smallest they've been since at least June.

Mine were swollen for about a week PP. It's normal. But, if it goes past a week, or if it's only one foot, then you need to call your doctor. Just make sure to drink plenty of water to help flush it out.

Thanks ladies! I was thinking it was normal since it wasn't on the discharge papers of things to be concerned about but thought I'd see it anyone else had it too.

The part about not letting them hang while sitting makes me chuckle. I'm a total shorty and they even hang in the car a bit! Lol my nursing stool has helped while at home though.

Haha. I didn't mean literally hanging, just to try to avoid having your feet on the floor when sitting. Feet up definitely helps! Also lemon water and cranberry juice are natural diuretics if you want to try to help it along a bit.

Ugh gas sucks. R screamed for about two hours and nothing made him feel better. Finally just let him comfort nurse all he wanted and he's finally asleep.

I probably sound like a broken record, but look up baby massage for digestion (babycentre uk has a good video) or the I love you baby massage on YouTube and try it. E gets really gassy and I swear doing massages a couple times a day is saving us from a fussy monster since she will pass a ton of gas immediately after I do a massage. We were doing just the normal bicycling and legs to chest and not getting much relief but adding the gentle massages does so much! I started doing the I love you massage at every diaper change at first but have gone down to just a couple times a day now.
DD just woke up for the first time. She's been sleeping since 10ish. Almost 4 hours of straight sleep for me. I feel so good right now. Hopefully I can get her down again and fall back asleep for more!
My right boob will not stop leaking. When I feed DD on that side, it gets all over my hand and her face. It started leaking this morning when I went to shower. WTF.

Both of mine are like that. I go through about 4 sets of pads a day.

E woke up and won't go back down. I put him in his cosleeper and he is SO congested now... he just can't handle being flat, I guess. We're both quite frustrated... please just go back to sleep!!

Yeah I feel ya! I'm so sick of sleeping on an incline it's not funny. He will sleep flat in the pnp all day long but at night he constantly grunts. So he ends up on my chest. I'm having trouble going to sleep tonight...
Please child let me put you down! C only wants to sleep on my chest. We used to get the beginning of the night where he would sleep in the RnP but now he only wants me.

Sorry to everyone having a rough night!
E has been up every hour since 1am. I wish tomorrow was a weekday so I could nap all day! DS is being moody and throwing tantrums this weekend so tomorrow should be fun if we are both in moods.
Bed sharing with a 3 day old is making nights easier than with my daughter. I was so paranoid then, I would change her every time I fed her, swaddle her, nurse her, and try to transfer her sleepy to the newborn napper in the pnp. Now I'm side lying nursing and letting him just stay there. So much more sleep this way. Now if only I could get the chills and night sweats to calm down.

Same here. He has a PD day tomorrow, argh... I wouldn't be so tired if it wasn't for DS. He's been coming in our bed at 5:15 yesterday and today. I'm exhausted.

Attempting the transition of sleeping in our room to crib sleeping in hers tonight. I'm hoping I don't check back here a lot tonight but time will tell...
Another night of baby not wanting to be put down. Ugh.
I'm right there with you. DH actually said he felt bad for me... apparently not bad enough though because he's sound asleep right now. He goes back to work tomorrow so I'm trying my best to keep this little one as quiet as possible.

Forgive the brag-plaint (that is ultimately a complaint..). E had a stretch of almost 5 hours tonight from 9 when we nursed before bed to 2 which meant I slept about 4 between nursing and pumping after bedtime (I feel like a new woman!) That's great except now I have to start setting an alarm since we don't want to go longer than 4 at night without nursing due to her weight gain. I finally have a magical unicorn baby who sleeps a long stretch (sometimes) at night naturally and I can't even enjoy it :-(. We had friends who had to wake their baby every 3 hours until 6 months so I know it could be worse since I hope we are out of this phase soon. Fingers crossed for her weigh ins this week at the ped and LC.
