annbuhdanmeagpt22dc2london H took her to urgent care and its confirmed to be HFM. She actually hasn't had a fever yet.
R has been really fussy with nursing to the point where I have to wait until he's sleeping to nurse him so I do fear he may have sores in his throat...
Jeez shanny. I hope your DD feels better soon and that R is just having a fussy day instead of also having HFM. That's alot to handle while also returning to work. I hope everything works out for you guys.
Well, first I must confess that my older DD still drinks a bottle when she wakes up and before bed. She asks for one about 29 other times throughout the day too.
Last night in the dishwasher one of the nipples ripped a little bit so it has a bigger opening, but it still works. H happened to put that one on her bottle this morning and she won't drink it. I'm feeling mean, but I think I'm going to seize this opportunity and keep giving her this nipple she doesn't like. Is this really how we will finally kick the bottle habit?!

So my friend asked on Facebook at what age do you stop checking to see if your kid is breathing. And everyone commented that their kid is 5/9/13 and they still do it. Um. I feel like a broken mom.... I have not done that since he was about a month old. LOL

Mine still sleeps on her belly so I check. I stopped checking the boys once they slept in their own rooms bc I was too afraid I would somehow wake them

If you are broken, then I'm shattered lol. I've never really done it unless he was sleeping more than 7hrs when he was younger and 13hrs now. Maybe I would have if he wasn't such an active sleeper? Mine has always been a wiggler and mover so I knew he was breathing I guess. *shrugs*

DH still checks all 3. I rarely do. I joke they check on me at night instead.
Sakinah Just noticed this weekend that the edge of a tooth has sliced through on baby girl. You're not alone!
Yaay!! Which one? Oddly, we have a top tooth. I always thought the bottom two came in first.
It's her bottom right. I'm guessing the left won't be far behind because they usually come in together. She sure is clamping down hard while nursing! (Wince)

I don't either. If he's sleeping I'm sleeping. Haha.
I hate insurance. My doctor recommended I have a test done and they contacted the insurance company to get pre-authorization and an estimate. I received a pre-authorization letter from the insurance company and was told it would cost me $560. Since I was going to hit my out-of-pocket max with pregnancy and birth stuff anyway I went ahead with it. Once the insurance company received the claim, they said they needed more information to decided if they would cover it. I sent them the pre-authorization letter. I just received a letter from them in he mail that upon review they are denying my claim and I owe $24,000. I'm going to submit an appeal but I'm pissed. WTF is the point of pre-authorization if they can just turn around and deny the claim later? How are you supposed to make an informed decision if the costs change?
pttomato wtf?!? Insurance companies are assholes. I'm fighting with mine because I get 5 psych visits covered at 100% postpartum and they're trying to charge me for those! I hope they get your issue fixed soon. That's effing ridiculous.
pttomato, I'm a cardiac NP and I can't tell how much everyone in my office hates insurance companies.
I hope all the A16 families spent an enjoyable Thanksgiving with family orvwhoever you spent time with.
I thought back to last Thanksgiving where I was taking meds in preparation for my last FET and wondering how I could ever make peace with having only one child. I cannot describe how grateful I am this is not my situation.
We had a very busy, mostly enjoyable weekend in Chicago. The only negative was being around my sister's bigoted SIL and BIL who made several hateful and untrue comments about 'those people,' meaning Mexican Americans. MH and I refused to sit silently, so it made for some, shall we say, interesting conversation. They make me appreciate my ILs so much more.
