Oh man last night was rough one here for me. Ds has been sleeping so well in his bassinet but it's getting worse. Last night he would fall asleep as wake up crying and gagging 15 minutes later. After an hour of that he and I headed downstairs for the night. I put him in the RNP and he slept the longest he ever has, however I was in the couch tossing and turning and my neck aches this morning to prove it. Tonight the rnp will be moved upstairs. I am glad H got a full nights sleep out of it though.
I think will also bring it up to the pedi on Friday. I am suspicious we are dealing with mild reflux. I am guessing we will anything about it though :/.
aggiebug we started Zantac yesterday. First time since she was a week old that she didn't wake up every 20-30 minutes gagging and grimacing. Maybe worth a shot for your little guy?
I think we are having some mild reflux here as well. She usually sleeps pretty decently in the pnp, but sometimes I wonder if she'd be more comfortable in the RnP or the swing.
Mil left early this morning so I'm back to being on my own. But, we have playgroup today and again tomorrow, my mom is taking off Thursday, and then Friday we have cookie decorating with friends. So, pretty busy week! I definitely need a nap today already. Sleeping in little chunks is killing me.
Oh, also, it's still cold here and slightly wet. Can't wait until next week when we are back to sunny and in the 60s, low 70s.
And DD woke up with a fever and congested. The Aggie household is fun today.its 24hgr fever free before being around other kids right? I was planning on mom's group tomorrow and would need to run to the store today if I go.
Our night started out ok but then it was 1oz feedings and hourly wakeups with a motn party thrown in. I'm so so tired right now. I'm also starving but want to go back to bed. He tends to have a nice long nap in the morning.

I am hoping that is apart of the discussion Fri with the pedi. At least a plan of if/ when we would treat.
ClassyMrsA how did you go about finding your mom group? I need to stop being such a hermit.
Meetup. I found a number of groups through that site. The one I'm in now is for SAHMs and there are chapters all over the country. But I also was in one for babies born in 2014 and another one that was just weekday activities for parents in my area.
Edit because toddler hit the post button before I was done.

My hospital runs a new moms group that meets once a week. I started taking DS when he was 13 days old. I became good friends with a bunch of the ladies there and we still get together once a week at someone's house for dinner/wine/playgroup. I started going back to group last week with D; hoping to expand that network even more. It was a total lifesaver for me with DS.
My town also has a family network that I joined (it's like 30 bucks for the year) and they run events and playgroups and also moms-only nights throughout the year. Maybe your area has something like that?

I also found my group on meetup. Unfortunately for me, the founder of that group is done having kids and her youngest is in kindergarten (he was actually born the same day as my second kid) so there have been no playdates during the school year. Luckily, there are still occasional moms' nights that I try to make it to. sophiegrace, you can also check facebook to see if there are any groups there; my meetup group migrated there when she no longer wanted to pay the meetup fees.

We generally go with not being around other kids if a fever is present. I think the 24hr rule is to be super sure they aren't contagious anymore. My group technically has that rule, but I don't think anyone is super strict about it. Just best judgement and we wash hands a lot during cold and flu season.
H just left to take DS to gymnastics. I had high hopes for a shower but little lady of course decided to wake up just then.
I would really like for her to get a good sleep now because later on we are supposed to try to keep her awake for a while prior to her appointment with the audiologist so that she'll (in theory) sleep through the testing.
Idk if I actually told you guys that she didn't pass her hospital hearing screen. So yeah anyway we are going to the audiologist today. I'm pretty confident that everything is fine but obviously good juju is appreciated.

I am so tired today; I'm actually kind of glad that it's cold and rainy so I don't feel too guilty for not taking the littles anywhere while the bigs are at school. H is teleworking and he'll probably ask me to take the kids out and pick him up lunch which I generally don't mind as long as he's okay with drive-thru food. I can run through McDonalds or Dunkin Donuts while I'm out and get a large iced coffee while I'm at it.
Also, I'm so proud of me because yesterday I wrapped most of the Christmas presents while the four older kids were at school and LO slept in the car seat, and then I finished them after the bigs went to bed and DH took the baby to the store. Now we just need to fluff and decorate the tree and find the long extension cord so we can hook up our new laser light projector outside.
That's what I was thinking danib and ClassyMrsA. I think this time around I am just going to plan on not going since I need to run an errand today if I were to go and I don't feel like dragging her out.
I need to start my day with a shower. I think i'm starting to smell from no shower yesterday and spit up on me.
And then I'm going to work on my zen. I lost my cool on O again this morning and I don't like myself when that happens. I already googled ways to keep your patience with a toddler.
Otherwise, I really need to start Christmas shopping (now that I have great ideas aggiebug!)
dashook Henry didn't pass his initial test either. The audiologist said it is super common and often just a result of mucus that needs to dry up. Where we were in for 5 days she repeated the test before we left and he passed it then.
Yeah the screening person said it was probably fluid, and I kind of agree based on how it went down (not that I'm an expert). But during the first screen, D was resting on my chest with her right ear against me. She passed in her left ear but not in the right. They then did the screen a second time with her laying flat in the bassinet and she didn't pass in either ear. So logically that seems like fluid moving and settling based on her position. But today's test is diagnostic so we will get an actual answer.
hangry I also need to work on my zen. I lost it with B yesterday trying to put him down for a nap. He was just laughing at me and playing in his crib and fighting it so hard. Meanwhile J was screaming his head off because he was hungry. I know it wasn't B's fault but his refusal to nap made it easy to blame him. Mom guilt sucks.
that's exactly what happened this morning! He was laughing and jumpin and playing and I just wanted him to put his sweatshirt on so he could go to daycare. Deep breaths.
hangry it is so hard with the toddlers. I yelled at DS today because he was tumbling on the couch while I was trying to nurse D, to which he responded by trying to actually kick her, so I smacked him on his diaper and then held him down with one arm while I yelled for DH to put him in time out.
I'm not proud at all of how I handled the situation but I'm trying to find more constructive ways to divert his energy. It's a struggle for sure, especially when I'm in the moment and think he's about to hurt the baby.
I've figured out how to get my husband to work on his to do list while on leave...don't turn off Parenthood. He's now working on curtains and insulating our bedroom window while I relax on the couch with a sleeping baby.

Not a good night last night. Only got 1.5 hour stretches of sleep and I got peed on twice. I think he's out grown newborn diapers... That's the only thing I can think of why the pee would be coming out. He's currently in a Pampers size 1 so we will see how that works. (I'm sure he's over 9 lbs now.)
I think we might take the kids to the mall later to go see Santa! Can't wait to see the results! Other than that, just a quiet night at home filled with venison chili, leggings, tv and maybe a glass of wine!
cookswithwine9 1.5hr stretches of sleep are no Bueno. I feel like by the time I actually fall asleep in up again and groggy, I think I do better just staying up through it but by the next night I'm usually passing out so thats not a good option either.
aggiebug and sophiegrace How do you know how much is normal baby stuff and when it could be something to have looked at? I can't tell if their gas, reflux, spit up is normal or not. Half the time I'm terrified to lay them down because ten minutes later they are making a face like they're choking and then if you pick them up they spit up immediately (even though they've been burped). So I'm always nervous during night feedings when I feed gem, burp them, then lay them down. What if they spit up while I'm sleeping and I don't know it/hear it ? As far as the gas, Alec is starting to have some issues of now but he just grunts through it, he doesn't scream about it like Adeline does.

This kid won't stop eating. 3oz around noon, 3oz around 2 and he was SCREAMING for more after that bottle was done. I'm all for this kid eating well but I'm starving and haven't had a second to eat myself. I'm about to pass out.
Also I just finished One Tree Hill on Netflix. I need a new show to binge eventually but I'm going to rewatch Fuller House. With all the excitement over Gilmore Girls, I think people missed that season two is coming out soon!
