We are supposed to get slammed with snow today. I need to go grocery shopping at some point, but I might wait until the snow starts so the crowds die down. I also have an interview today for a part time marketing position. It is my second interview and this one is with the president of the company. Hopefully it goes ok! We finally decided to just get a mini crib for DD since she will be in our room for a while. I got it all set up yesterday, and she completely had zero desire to sleep in it last night, so we coslept just to get through the night. I might try to get her to nap in it today to get her used to it. No way am I starting the cosleeping habit with DD. I did it with DS and it was so hard to break him of it. Def not against cosleeping, just don't feel like dealing with the transition to a crib again!!
Happy birthday @holachica!! It might be weird that I remember this...but, anyhow. LOL. Thinking of you and your family too.
DS2 fought sleep and didn't go down until 10. Stupidly, we were up until 10:30. DS1 randomly woke up at 2:30 and then either cried from his room or yelled out for me every 15-20 minutes for the next hour or so. I went in at 3:45 and told him I wasn't coming in again and if he didn't want to sleep he needed to play quietly. I didn't hear him after that. Then DS2 woke at 4:40. Climbed back in bed at 5:10, H got up 10 minutes later, and I vaguely remember him leaving at 6. DS1 was up at 7:30 because, yeah. It makes sense that he slept in a half hour when he was up for 2 in the MOTN. And H is on day call today and tomorrow, so I'm solo parenting. Send caffeine.
No plans, especially not today. DS1 is going to need a nap (read: I am going to need a nap). Hopefully I can get DS2 to go down around the same time. I need to call my sister and find out when she plans to get her kids Christmas gifts from my house. All the grands and greats sent her kids' gifts here because she was in transition from the house to the apartment. She seems to think it's my responsibility to get them to her. Uh, no.
adouces06 - Good luck with the interview!! We're only supposed to get the edge of that storm, maybe just a couple of inches where we we are. The shoreline is supposed to get hit harder.
We don't have any plans this weekend. I need to go to Costco and get a box of K-cups because we are completely out. I took a few from my parents' house when I picked up DS the other day, just to get us through until today. I'm in the mood for pot roast today, so hopefully they have some there, so I don't have to go anywhere else.

Another shitty night. DS was up every hour and a half. Gassy and so unsettled. Not sure if I ate something that bothered him...
Party prep errands to do this morning and I need to make cupcakes. Might make some cake pops as well. We're going to a friend's place this evening as a redo for Christmas get together when everyone was sick before Christmas.
We're hunkering down for snow here. They're calling for 4-8 inches here, so we're not going anywhere. MH is working today so it's me and the boys. I have to finish the laundry today and look at the grocery store ad and maybe start to put a grocery list together to go tomorrow morning. We're going to Disney on Ice tomorrow afternoon and I'd like to go shopping before we go.

C went down in the Merlin at 830 and slept until 2. I of course am dumb and stayed up watching the Leah Remini show on Scientology until almost midnight. Stupid me decided it would be easier to feed her back to sleep in a swaddle so I swapped it out. She woke up less than 2 hours later absolutely raging about the swaddle and fought going back to sleep in the first place. Back in the Merlin and now up for the day at 740. Day 3 or 4 now of crappy sleep. So tired.
ETA cute pic of C in her baby fat suit the magic Merlin
Buying a new dining room table today from Costco so I imagine most of our day will be spent assembling it. It is nice but I do look forward to the day when I can spurge on a really nice one that I won't have to worry about my kids destroying.
More kon Mari-ing is planned (or sudokuing as H calls it lol)
vavavictoria that's how I'm feeling about my pots and pans lately. DS1 loves to "cook" in them. They are destroyed. I want new ones, but I know DS2 will probably "cook" too.
Good luck adouces06! We're in a jackpot area for snow too today. I'm wondering how close you and I are. Happy birthday @holachica! britta is it your birthday today too or am I having a dumb moment? vavavictoria I've been watching a little of the Leah Remini show and then saw the 20/20 on it last night too. So crazy and so sad all that's happened to so many families if it's all true. I never know what to believe in this world anymore. So yeah getting walloped with snow tiday, so Christmas #4 has been postponed again. I'm just gonna try to get some random stuff around the house done. Put ornaments back in their boxes, switch out more of DDs clothes and separate the gender neutral ones out for a friend. I have had maternity clothes to give to a friend who is due in March. But have not seen her. At this point I feel like she must have enough, but I'm gonna offer them anyways. It's only gonna be for like the last 6 weeks. Is it rude to ask for them back after? Is it rude if I'm asking for them back so I can then sell them?
I was always so nervous to reveal personal identifying info here and still don't post pictures because I was nervous about people I know figuring out this was me. Not that I act differemt or say anything bad, just that sometimes I share things that I wouldn't share with just anyone IRL. But at this point if there's anyone I know stalking me here, then that's just turned weird.
sanibel21 mine's tomorrow. Usually I'm all "Yeah! My birthday!" But between having a newborn and a toddler and MH being on call, this year I'm very "Meh" on it. I'd love to go out for dinner, just the two of us, but no family close by and no babysitters at this point. Womp, womp.
I do not know why this child fights sleep so much. At this age, if he was tired, DS1 would just pass out. This one? He gets cranky and cries and fights. There's a golden window where he just barely starts fussing and goes down fairly quick, but if you miss it...well Ts&Ps. That's where I'm at right now. I missed the window because I decided to shower.

Aww, well Happy Birthday tomorrow in case I flake out and forget!! I hope you can do something nice for yourself even if it's sip coffee while it's still hot or paint your nails or something. Mine is this month too and we're going to a wedding. So I'm treating it as a birthday night out too, haha.

Happy birthday @holachica and britta! adouces06, good luck at your interview!
GL with all of those dealing with massive piles of snow. We're mostly just getting flurries here, nothing sticking yet. I plan on not leaving the house today at all. My cousin who is my sis' age is coming over for dinner to meet the LO and I can finally make the dessert I was gonna make my sis last weekend for her birthday cause now she's feeling better. It's an verrine of almond sponge cake, raspberry mousse, raspberry gelee, more cake, some fresh raspberries and whipped cream with toasted almonds on top. Yay for baking to warm up the house!
And happy 1-day-early birthday, britta, in case I forget tomorrow.
DH and I watched a cute movie on Netflix last night called Man Up. It's a British romantic comedy with Lake Bell and Simon Pegg. It was funny and sweet.
The snow just started here. I am curious to see how much we get here. It doesn't sound like we're going to get very much.
My 11 week old has slept a total of 20 minutes since he got up at 7:45. Since about 10am he's been crying or controllably fussing, save for the 20 minutes he "slept" and the 15 it took him to eat a bottle. He cries when I hold him, in the swing, on the floor, on his boppy. I managed to get the 3 year old down while the newborn fussed a bit, but then he started full on crying and woke him back up. So he's upstairs whine-crying that his 15 minute "rest" was enough. I'm trying to get the newborn to realize he NEEDS SLEEP BECAUSE NEWBORN, but all he's doing is crying. Yay.
Sorry for the /dear diary. I need a do over today.
So we were supposed to get 4-5 inches of snow and we got barely a dusting. I am actually pretty pissed. My boys were so so excited and ready to go play and there is nothing.
I'm in Northern Va and we're getting some snow here - it was supposed to end at 1pm but it's still heavily coming down.
I met two girlfriends for breakfast and took H with me. He was perfect and either stared at the fan or slept while I drank 3 cups of coffee after breakfast.
DD is napping and H is napping on me. It's quiet and I'm watching the snow fall.
I have to go into work tomorrow for a few hours for witness prep so DH will have both kids. 😬
