Hi! I'm getting wide of the year points by getting up at 5:30 to drive with MH so he can go skiing...I'm reading a book now and doing some outlet shopping later. I'd love to find a place for a nap, though...thinking my warm car may serve that purpose after I meet up with him for lunch.

We're having a lazy Sunday. Don't even plan to leave the house. Ordered our groceries online and h will pick them up later today.
I'm gearing up for the Golden Globes tonight. I'm obsessed with awards show season. I will sit around for hours just watching red carpet coverage. I can't wait!
I wanted a no go anywhere, stay home lazy Sunday but DH decided to take DS for a train ride.. So, I get to drive them to the next nearest train station and then drive back to pick them up at the one a mile from where we live. It's so cold out that I'm refusing to not get out of my car until I'm back in the garage lol

Here's a Sunday Funday question...do any of you allow yourselves a glass of wine here and there? If so, when did you feel comfortable with it? And what constitutes a glass...4oz? 6? 8? I'll be 13 weeks tomorrow and I'm kind of starting to miss wine. In the bathtub. With a good book.

I do allow myself a small glass of wine here or there. I will drink 2 to 4 oz if I want it. I think I had my first glass at 18 or 19 weeks.

I'm still on the fence. If I do, I'll probably wait for a few more weeks. Well into 2nd tri.
We have a friend who is Doctor and she was pregnant recently. She had no issues having a small glass here and here, so MH has been on board with it since the beginning.

Contact paper. Y'all are so much more decorative than me. I'm 37&6 and we don't even have a dresser for her yet. #secondbabyproblems #noMarthaStewartGene

My MW is fine with a glass here and there (she didn't specify timing). My H is a doctor (not OB, though) and is also fine with a small glass (4oz or less) every few weeks. I have only had a couple sips at my work holiday party and NYE party. So far I don't really want any wine. But once I'm past 20 weeks if I really want it, I'll have a small glass every couple weeks.
My boss asked me to work for a little bit today...there's a African refugee group that sometimes uses our school gym as worship space on Sunday afternoon. He wanted me to come speak to them about enrollment opportunities at our school. I knew this was going to happen...I drove 45 minutes into the city and nobody was there. I literally had to turn right back around and drive 45 mins back home. 80 mile drive for absolutely nothing.
I'm going to need someone to talk me out of telling this Facebook user where she can stick her self- righteous mom-shaming post. Buying a designer bag or getting a salon haircut does not make a mother selfish, FFS. I cannot handle the stupid today.

Yes, starting at 13-14 weeks.
With DS1, I had 4-5 oz once a week. I think there was one week (Christmas) that I had that twice because I just couldn't deal with my MIL that week.
With this one, it's here and there and never more than 4 oz.
In both cases, I make sure I have a full stomach and have plenty of water or other liquids before, during, and after (at least 16 oz of other liquids) and that it takes at least an hour to get through those 4 oz wine. I only do red wine when pregnant even though I'm a white or beer drinker normally

Ask her if designer diaper bag still makes you a good mom or just a selfish one. I hate memes like this. You can still have that stuff in your life and it certainly doesn't make you a bad mom.

Wow. I'm way over the mom-shaming and judging and I'm not even one yet! Honestly I think nothing you say will change her mind, but I understand wanting to speak up. If you do, maybe something along the lines of "Moms are allowed to have a life and nice things. Haircuts and bags don't mean a child is going without. A happy mom is a better mom" ?

Right?! I almost wanted to post and ask her literally that same question. The really funny thing is, she's a stylist who SELLS the designer bag that I just bought to use as a diaper bag. (Okay, Stella & Dot isn't exactly Chanel, but it's still a $100+ bag and definitely designer quality.) I'm just annoyed by the passive aggressive social media lately. You wouldn't walk up to a mom you know and say "Wow, your haircut looks great! You must have really deprived your children in order to get that salon appointment." No. Because that person would tell you that you're a freaking moron.
akraus2015 the non alcoholic Fre wine is pretty gross IME. With DS I had 4 oz of wine after first tri maybe 4-5 times. My husband was always on board with it and my son is now 3 and just perfect. I haven't had any yet this pregnancy (almost 17 weeks) but most likely will further along if I'm dying for it. A few tiny glasses of wine aren't a huge deal in my opinion.
