So, do some babies just never do certain milestones?
I've wondered this too. DS never played with his feet, put them in his mouth, grabbed them, etc. I keep forgetting to ask the pedi if this is normal.
My DD never really grabbed her feet, DS on the other hand is obsessed and sucks on them. hannahbear I know some kids skip crawling or aren't into others. But they don't usually totally skip them. But can do them later or "out of order" (like sit up first then be able to roll).
Sorry, that was vague! I said I wouldn't be worried about E, but I am! He did roll both ways the other day - but it's sort of like he just isn't into it and doesn't want to? So he has rolled maybe twice. He's almost 7 months! Our friends said their kid skipped crawling completely, and I guess I was wondering if there's any possibility that babies skip rolling. E is definitely strong enough and has very good neck/head control, so I don't think it's an issue of muscle strength.
hannahbear, we are going to Ontario where I grew up. So very excited to go home. Most of my family haven't seen the babies yet so it should be fun.
Both my babies don't like playing with their feet our PT thinkks its weird. But now they just prefer to be on their bellies so no time on their back to play. My guess would be that your boy may just not like doing it, but now that he has done it is very possible that he will do it more. Mine always started slow then a few weeks later they were all over the place.

I wouldn't be too concerned since you know he can do it and have seen him to it. Rolling right now is probably more about lack of interest. I'd just try positioning some toys so that he has to roll to his side to get them. At this point as long as he spends time on his tummy, he's probably ok. Rolling is not really a milestone that's skipped. They just do it more later. Like he'd have to be able to roll off his back to sit up and get into a crawling position.

My DD wasn't a fan of rolling. She did it to check the box, but wasn't a kid who consistently rolled over until older.
.....are we not supposed to put them in the stroller yet? DD has been riding in the City Mini since 4 months
My PT doesn't want my babies in anything that sits them up. She said ot was fine for "normal" babies though. She wants mine to stay on the floor all the time and play there, until they sit on their own. Needless to say we do not always follow this and they sit in their high chairs to eat and what not. Tomorrow there is a parade in town for carnival so they will also be in their buggies sitting up so they can see whats going on.

Daycare told me that DS sleeps in his crib at nap time there and puts himself to sleep! Kid clearly knows we're push overs bc that's not happening at home! Haha. I'll have to ask them what they do exactly so I can mimic it at home. I remember DD was like this too when she was older though.

Heh. We got the City Mini in part because it could be used from newborn on up. She didn't like not being able to see us when she was smaller, but now we're old news...
Yeah once she could sit with minor support I felt comfortable putting her in the regular stroller. If she had looked wobbly or anything, I wouldn't have
Getting ready to board my flight home. Babies and I survived the weekend apart! I had a nice time and I'm glad I went, but I missed them so much and I can't wait to be back with them!!

We never used a travel system. Our stroller seats lay back so we've had them in there since the beginning. The stroller specs said not to sit them up until 6 months although they are good sitters so I think we could have tried it earlier.

C was sitting up in a shopping cart before 6 months so I didn't hesitate to use the stroller. But she's unusual.

My pediatrician specifically asked if they were doing this, so you may want to check with yours about it.
He does grab them every now and then when he has footie PJs on and there is some kind of animal on them. But he generally doesn't seem interested. I'll make a note to bring it up. Thanks!

H and I are fighting. He is a finalist for a job that he thinks would be great for him, but it means staying in our current city which I really really don't want to do. The area we would need to live is SO expensive it would require half his income to get the amount of space that I consider liveable with twins. I would not able to go back to school to pursue MY career dreams. He has told me since the beginning that he wouldn't take a job if I didn't want him to, and he wouldn't take a job if it meant me giving up my own career aspirations. And now that I've said both those things, he says I'm being closed-minded and taking away a great opportunity for him. Which to me just shows that he believes his needs and happiness are more important than mine. I have gone above and beyond to support him through his career journey and now he is making me into the "bad guy" and it's so not ok for him to put me in that position.

bocaburger I'm sorry you and YH are fighting. I'm sure this job hunting process has been stressful on you both. Hopefully this is just his excitement about being a finalist for the job and once he's thought about it more he'll realize it won't work great for you or the twins.

bocaburger I'm sorry DH is doing that to you. Does he have any other job prospects in better areas? Hopefully it's just his fear that there isn't anything better and he comes around.
bocaburger Is there any way he'd be willing to compromise? If he wants the job so badly, maybe be able to move to a less expensive area and commute a bit further? I really hope he gets some sense knocked into him about your career aspirations, though. It's very not cool to gaslight you about them, especially since he's already specifically told you he wants to support your career needs, too.
Just had a plugged duct, but I got rid of it! Unfortunately, this meant the milk that was no longer blocked still needed to come out and sprayed everywhere.
We had some nice weather the other day, so we tried her in our little car. She was a natural! Just look at the hand placement! (Big sister is keeping a close eye on her as usual.)

Ds2 is finally feeling better. Despite being sick, he had a crazy week of new developments. Up on his knees rocking, army crawling across the house, holding his own bottle, eating Puffs well, bopping to music, and making this little sign with his hand when he wants something. Amazing! And seemingly overnight, I no longer have a little baby.
This morning while ds1 was at preschool, I swapped out all the choking-hazard toys in the living room with all the little people and baby toys. Replaced some missing outlet plugs. And went crazy with the vacuum, because ds2 is finding every little fuzz and crumb.
And, now that he's mobile, ds1 is upset that little brother is touching his toys. He pulled apart a puzzle he was working on, so ds1 got pretty upset. Just the beginning of sibling quarrels!
6 month shots are making for a crabby baby today. Tylenol for the win! Finally napping in my arms. Hoping for a smooth transfer to crib.
How'd it go?
Terrible transfer to crib. So I just snuggled with him and we took a nap together. He's been in RNP for the past month and tonight I planned to try crib with the wedge at bedtime. But he didn't go for that. Not sure if it was related to shots or discomfort from reflux. He was crabby all day so I'll try again tomorrow.

Ds2 was an absolute mess after his 6 month shots, for about 48 hours. Then he woke up and was back to his normal self. Good luck, and hopefully he's not too crabby!
I have a question, I have been on the pill for a good while now, and today mid cycle I started spotting. Like AF is on the way. I have had headaches too like whwn it comes. Now I had a small flu but it started at least 3 hours after I took the pill and only for the day. The next day it started. I am like a whole week and a half before I am on the empty pill. I had one cycle where I spotted for so long after AF came but it was not like this. Its weird right? My obgyn is on holidays for the month. WWYD?
