buttercup that's so cool!! I'm a huge basketball fan so to me basketball players are the ultimate celebrities. Also, I'm with you on the feeling nothing team. I'm tired all the time but no other symptoms. It's freaking me out!
First appt went well! Took ages lol. Should get my U/S date within the week!!
Although, I have to ask you guys a question, have any of you been put on aspirin throughout this or past pregnancy because of a risk of preeclampsia?
When talking about things and giving info I said that my mum had quite bad preeclampsia with me. But I didn't have it at all with DS. So now she's put me on aspirin... apparently it's a new thing. I want to get second opinions. And my mum is asking around at her wards in the hospital if it's a normal thing.
I know the midwife wouldn't of prescribed it if it wasn't safe but I just don't like taking anything while pregnant
beefinch yes! I was put on a baby aspirin (81mg) after I was diagnosed with pre-e in my first pregnancy. I will be starting it at 12 weeks this time too. It's a fairly new treatment (within the last few years I think). My MW said that it reduces your chance of developing pre-e by 30% and if you do still develop it, it prevents worsening and you end up with a better prognosis.
The only thing I would question is why is she starting it now? My MW wants me to wait until 12w.
We told my ILs on Saturday and my MIL is itching to tell people. I told her that she can tell family that DH doesn't want to tell directly beginning next week.
@annperkins, team green here, but we have our girl name all picked out. I may need to sign up for that app to figure out our boy name.
We're also team green (I think). We're in a world of hurt when it comes to girl's names. It took us until 33 weeks to name DD and it was the only name we kinda agreed on. We were team green with DS and had a boys name picked out at 8 weeks. Boys names are so much easier

Did you dream about your babies sex before you knew what it was? Where you right?? I keep dreaming little bean is a girl but my awake brain says boy...
Me 37 DW 33 Married May2014 RIVF (her egg my basket) Nov2014 Due July2015 - Its a Boy!! RIVF Oct2016 Due July 2017 - twin msc March 13 transfer Due Nov 2017
My H already has a boy name picked out that goes with DS's. Obviously, it is still up for debate. I do kind of think this one will be a boy too, but who knows.
pootsen sorry I meant to say I will be starting it at 12w also. Thank you, you've given me more info than my midwife did!
@thatgolfbitch Thank you, I just thought it was strange that she would prescribe it since DS's pregnant was free from preeclampsia (obviously I know I could develop it with this one)
Midwives in the U.K. are the care team for pregnancy, we don't go to anything else (unless we go private) they are very highly trained, think it takes around 4+ years to be fully trained. A friend of mine is actually training to be one and she's in her third year at university. I do trust what she's saying but I had just never heard of the aspirin. If this was my first pregnancy I don't think I would've questioned it as much but because DS's pregnancy went quite smoothly and drama free it's making me question it that's all. I will take them, it's just I wanted second opinions first to see if it's helped anyone
beefinch that's good to know! Of course you should get some other opinions if you're unsure.
The studies were just starting to come out when I was pregnant in 2014 so like I said before, it's very new so that's why you may not have heard of it. They didn't even start me on it right when I was diagnosed with pre-e. My MW called me randomly one day and told me to start after she had been doing some research and consulted with one of the OBs.

I had a vivid dream at 16 weeks that DS was a boy and what his name was. I already feel like this one is a girl, but haven't had any dreams about that yet.

I totally disagree- girl names are waaaaay easier!
With my DS I had dreams and waking intuition that he was a girl. So much for my intuition!
Also, I downloaded the baby name app that was recommended here yesterday to find potential boy names since we're set on a girl name already. I'm obsessed with the app but so far the only name that's a match for DH and me is DS' name. Which explains why we chose it but isn't much help to us now. 😉

I'm two for two so far.
No dreams yet, but based on my symptoms alone, I'm saying girl.
My new boss is in the office today and still hasn't reached out to me about my son. No thank you for the update. No hope he is doing well. No how can we help you at work.
That's so rotten of him/her. Have you spoken to HR or even your former boss? Perhaps your current boss has no idea how to handle it. Not that it's an excuse not to respond. I'm sorry
Based on the nausea, I'd say girl (was not even sick with DS at all). But I generally get a gut feeling one way or the other (and currently 2/2). I havent had that intuition yet.

My symptoms are totally different this pregnancy. I know that doesn't necessarily mean anything, but it's been a very different pregnancy than I had with DS. I've been wavering on team green, but DH is insistent now because I made such a big deal about it lol.

I've had 2 "boy" dreams. But I'm a FTM, so no record to work with here!
I don't think my symptoms are that much different from DS's pregnancy. But I am 10x more tired, but I also think that's partly due to having a toddler this time around. Food aversions are much stronger, and I can't really remember feeling sick with DS if I didn't eat every couple of hours.
I also can't remember much from the first tri with him as it was 3 years ago now. I did have a feeling that he was a boy, but that was mainly because everyone wanted us to have a boy (including us) so I kind of felt pressured to have one, even though it was out of my control lol.
I have no feelings on what sex this one is yet. I'm trying to get attached to the thought of it being a boy or a girl until we find out because I don't want to be... don't know the word as it's not disappointed, as I'm happy for either sex as long as they are healthy. But I would like a girl.
I felt like DD was a girl and I feel like this one is a boy but I may just be slightly leaning more towards wanting a boy. The nausea and food aversions have been stronger this time around but I know that doesn't mean anything.
Apparently every Wednesday there's a big breakfast spread in the teachers lounge, which was news to me today. Went up to see and holy effing muffin bananza! Nomnomnom muffins!
