My husband is home working on our bathroom reno today and he just came downstairs and proclaimed that a squirrel had climbed in the drain pipe he left open last night and took a dump all over the new tile in the shower that hasn't been grouted yet. He is pissed. It's hilarious.

Well since you brought up squirrels whoopsadaisy I have to admit that our foster puppy found a dead baby squirrel last week and swallowed it whole. She's only 19 lbs right now so we were worried about the squirrel getting "stuck" alas all is good she puked it up later that night.

I may look cute and innocent but I take no prisoners.

I am out of forks at work and so it's an eat spaghetti and a whole breast of chicken with a spoon kind of day for me. I'm a mess today but I don't care because in 2 hours I have my first appontment!

Oh man, I got home from work one day and there was a squirrel in our house. I was getting ice from the geezer thing on the fridge door, heard a weird sound, and the squirrel went flying off the top of the fridge. Scared the shit out of me. Dog went crazy and both were tearing around the house before the squirrel disappeared up our chimney. It later died in there and we had to fish it out. Awful.

These are not very common in Canada and I am jealous. We have them at all of our derby games though so I am really stoked for the 2017 season to start so I can eat more than my fair share of them.

I don't know if this is a good or a bad thing since I have an actual pretzel store near my house. Yes a store that sells just soft pretzels, I feel like it could get dangerous lol

Went into work today to do some paper work that needed doing and couldn't wait until Monday night (when I'm next in)

Had to take DS with me and my mum was actually the nurse on shift today, so she wandered of with DS showing him off to some residents who love toddlers lol.

He then had fun showing off to my boss which is never a bad thing lol. Her daughter is actually due in November as well.

I'm so excited for my first appt tomorrow, even though I know it's just the paper work lol. But it means I should get my date for our U/S in the post in the next couple weeks!

buttercup I have yet to be successful at working from home with a mobile child (I'm sure there are people who make it work though). When DS was little little, we had a family friend (we paid her) come over 2-3 days/week so I could go to work/work from home. My mom also helped out one day/week. We put DS in daycare at 6 months.

If you want your parents to help you, directly ask. I'd also suggest having a guest room available for their use if possible since 3 hours is a hike. Look into daycares in your area and ask around about in-home sitters (at their homes). Just knowing what your options are may be helpful.

The work stuff smells like BS to me. I'd definitely still ask to participate on the call and would do my best to actively participate.

Eta: ignore my ignorance on the daycare situation please.

buttercup, I'm sorry you're not finding a lot of support at work! I think if it was me, I would just very clearly ask my parents to help. Do you think you will have to travel regularly for work now? Or is it a rare event?

Every single day I tell myself that I'm going to be productive during DD nap. Every. Day. And then it comes around....And I'm either on the couch or bed. So sleepy. So lazy.

Its so nice here today. Walked to and from playgroup. And finally figured out my life in terms of follow up. My doctor will book a follow up ultrasound and send the results to the midwives (ideally this will all happen before my intake appointment next week).

buttercup +1 to being direct with the parents. I've found that sometimes parents don't come out and offer to help with something specifically because they don't want to step on toes. So since they said they wanted to help, they would probably appreciate you telling them what you need. Hopefully they can help you out! I don't know how anyone works from home with a kid...

So it's past 11:30 am and DD2 has not nursed. You guys, this is freaking amazing! H got her out of her crib this morning, which he never does, but is going to start doing after today. lol- she's asked to nurse a couple times, but I keep distracting her.

@snuff9861 I'm glad you got your doctor/midwife situation sorted out. That sounded very stressful!

We had DS' first speech therapy group class this am. It was not what I'd call a raging success. He pretty much ran around the whole time, plus acted super shy whenever the speech therapist asked him to do anything. Frustrating but oh well. It was his first time so I guess it's to be expected.
