I just found something that tastes good, smells good, and provides protein. Still not "healthy" per say, but better than French fries. Lol. There is a God.

Well, what is it!?
Mini quiche from Specialty's Café. I've always loved them, but try not to get them frequently. At this point I will have one everyday because pretty much I can only eat bananas, peach cups, and applesauce.
Yum lgraceh ! I just had a hard boiled egg and some veggie sticks, would have been yummier if I made it into a quiche!
Are there any tea drinkers here? Have you been drinking anything particularly delicious and caffeine free lately?
I've been doing Mint mostly. It's helped with the nausea some. Sometimes I just make it to have it on my desk and smell it. I will also do Honey Lavender (Yogi) a few times a week. Both caffeine free.

I agree buttercup, I always blame it on being on the west coast though, I'm always behind?
I agree about the west coast lag. Every night by the time DS is in bed and I'm ready to relax and get caught up, I feel like everyone is asleep already. (Probably because most of you are!)

lgraceh, I'm drinking mint right now. Honey Lavender sounds amazing though!!
@iheartmyshiba, I also buy David's tea! One of my all time faves is cinnamon rooibos chai Currently drinking Morrocan mint. Haven't tried the other two, so thanks, I will!
Thank god all of my hair is still on my head, it's thin enough as it is.
blabbermouth tea twins! I'm so glad we found them. The closest one to my house is only like 8 blocks away. Dangerous. And so much more affordable than Teavana!
There are a ton in my city actually, and one in walking distance from work. They also seem to employ the friendliest people on the planet!
My friend asked for suggestions for must have items after she has her baby in a month. The usual items were thrown around diapers, wipes, late night snacks, old lady underwear. Then one girl suggested toys and prizes for her oldest in case someone brings a gift for the baby.
NO.
If someone brings a sibling gift, that is very sweet, but they are in no way necessary and should not be provided by the parent to appease the sibling. An oldest child is no more, or less, important after a baby is born.
She just had her second in the fall and I have disagreed with a lot of her choices when it comes to prepping and coddling her first born for the arrival of her brother. I can't say anything to people I know, so I will just vent here.
Feel for me I'm the in the UK 😂when I go to bed it's normally the time you guys are having dinner, and then settle for the evening. And it's normally about 1pm/2pm my time before the board gets any posts
I'm looking forward to the 'middle of the night thread' for when we have newborns as my middle of the night will be early evening/middle evening for you guys.
I'm my May15 board it was so hard to keep up as nobody seemed to post during the day. I'm glad that this one that everyone stays in throughout the day, makes me feel like I can actually speak to you guys and not have like an 5+ hour difference in replies lol!
It's 18:40pm for me right now.
Plus in my May15 BMB, it seemed that a lot of the girls were FTM, so unless they worked they never had to be up early, so it was always quiet until 9/10pm my time. It seems like the good majority of us are STM+ so most are awake by 2/3pm my time! I know we have a couple FTM just from memory!

My mom is super guilty of this. When my cousin had her 2nd, my mom would ALWAYS bring a small gift for both girls. It got to the point that the older one just expected anyone who came by to bring presents for her. My cousin very gently asked my mom to stop lol. It came from a place of love but turned into a disaster.

I think I'm definitely in the minority here as a FTM! That's okay, I will just bug you guys to tell me everything I need to know and buy

Based on the roster/memory, we have 5 FTMs. So most of us are STM+.
With newborns, basically be prepared to change a poopy nappy every 5 minutes, stick a boob or bottle in its mouth every 1/2 hours, change their clothes (and yours) from spit up every half an hour... and smell from the lack of time/energy to shower. Dry shampoo will be your best friend. Sleep whenever the baby sleeps (us poor STM+) and when you do eventually sleep, it'll be spent waking up every 10 minutes checking the baby is breathing.
If I drink any tea, it's either Irish or English breakfast (both are available decaf but I only have the one cup anyway so don't bother). Right now everything tastes meh so for the most part, I just stick with water. Or juice - I have been craving juice a lot this pregnancy.

We just had a great appointment with my midwife, she is SO nice! She tried to listen for the heartbeat with the doppler, but I'm 9w2d so she wasn't terribly hopeful she'd be able to hear it. She said I can pop in any time after 10 weeks though and they will spare 5 minutes to listen again, and anytime I want as the weeks go on

Speaking of beverages, I'm obsessed with flavored sparkling water...delicious and festive and it keeps me from drinking Coke constantly which I might do.
Half-caff coffee in the morning. Always. But maybe i should branch out into tea. All the flavors you ladies are talking about sound pretty good!!
Is anyone else here going to have a repeat c-section or try for a VBAC? I thought given my previous c-section, my age and my weight, that my OB would push for a repeat c-section but he told me it is totally up to me. Last time we wound up with a c-section because DD had the cord wrapped around her ankle and they lost her heartbeat - it had nothing to do with a problem during delivery.
Honestly, the repeat c-section would be the easy way out for me - I would know when I was going in and how long I would be in for. My main concern would be that when I came home, I really wouldn't be able to pick up DD.
VBAC is not something that I ever thought would happen but now there's a part of me that wonders if I'm missing out if I don't at least try.
I have a forceps delivery with DS, but I actually went down for a section as he was turned the wrong way and would not come down enough. But with being wheeled down he had suddenly turned and was popping out.
I would try for a VBAC, as the recovery would be smoother for you especially with having another child to care for.
My best friend had a section and then a VBAC and she said it was the best thing ever recovery wise. The section she was crying in pain for weeks, could barely pick up her newborn. She was so scared about having another one as her DS was only 13 months when her DD was born.
Can I +1 to the talk of 'feeling' the baby move when we were talking about it a handful of pages ago.
I keep feeling like little pops and flutters. Just a second ago I had a pop that made me think and then a second later it was like a needed to pee right now or I would wet myself. Like it was when DS kicked my bladder. I know it's to early but my god it's so much harder when you know what the kicks/flutters actually feel like this time around.
Miss Killjoy, that is amazing! You should be very proud of your school. And your kids learned a very valuable life lesson about helping others. You rock!

I think that's my problem - my recovery wasn't awful at all. I even had an infected incision and it still wasn't awful (clearing out the infection sucked but that was only a very short period of time). I was up and about as soon as they pulled the catheter. I'm actually more scared of the stories I've heard about recovery after a vaginal delivery than of the recovery from a c-section again.
I'm going to ask my OB if maybe he could schedule me for 40 weeks (he won't let me go past 41 anyway because of my age) and then if I go into labor before then, I'll try the VBAC. I definitely don't want another induction.
