We are considering Disney in October. By then C could be in a convertible car seat. Can you check car seats at the check-in counter? I guess you would want to put their car seats in airplane seat. But is it frowned upon to not do that? Like could the baggage handlers destroy them? Also what is the cost to rent a car seat through rental car company? Not sure if it's worth the cost. Sorry lots of questions lol. bazingaa I thought about driving too then I was like what the heck am I thinking?! Security can sometimes be a nightmare at MCO, having both in a stroller/strollers could really help. Although I think you can take a stroller to the handicapped entrance.
MCO security line was like an hour long. We went through the handicapped line with the strollers and it still took an hour- I think it was the employees being slow though- it was really strange. The kids were melting down by the time we got through there. They need to get their shit figured out.

My mom flew in second week of Jan and she said it was a nightmare line. I agree it seems like the employees needed to get their shit together. I've considered flying allegiant since they fly into Sanford and it's a smaller, regional airport. But the difference in ticket prices was at least $150.

Car seat rentals are cheap. Like $15/ day that what we did. She prefers to sit in the seat.
My other advice about traveling with kids: be the last one on the plane. They might be "nice" and let you board early with young kids, but F that. DNW to sit on a hot stuffy non-moving plane for 20 extra minutes and watch literally every other passenger shuffle slowly past me and try to entertain kid(s) who don't understand why they're buckled into a seat and not going anywhere. If you're using the car seats on the plane, send H on early to install, and wait until the very last call to board with the kiddos.

bazingaa If renting carseats at your destination is an option, I think it's definitely money better spent than renting a stroller. Easy peasy getting through the airport with your preferred strollers and no car seats.
vlagroupie it's sort of frowned upon to check the car seat at the counter. Much less chance of being damaged if you check it at the gate. And the safest option is to use it on the plane in case of turbulence.

I love our double bob. Our kids are pretty close in age, so it was nice to strap both in and go on a run. I also will sometimes walk to the park near our neighborhood, which requires crossing a busy street so I like them to both be strapped in. We also take it to Sharon Woods and I used to take it to the outlet mall. we have big cars, so it's never been an issue. I agree that the useful life is pretty short, so if you aren't going to use it with a lot of frequency it's a waste. We are starting to use it less and less since E can pretty much walk everywhere and doesn't run off. She is starting to prefer to ride her bike when I go out to run or when we go to the park so I usually just take the single Bob for O. Still, it was worth it for us!

Omg, that sounds like torture.
Just be prepared so you don't miss your flight. Get to mco like 3 hours before departure.

I am sure the double bob is wonderful to use since I love my single bob. But I wouldn't use it enough. I bet it has good resale value though. I got my bob for a steal too. Brand new on amazon, it was a deal of the day for $230.

I bet we bought our strollers on the same day. Was it like January-ish while you were pregnant with C?

Yes!!!! It was like right before my birthday because the stroller came on my birthday and I was so excited.
I guess this is the city double I was thinking of. Holy sticker shock, batman!
This is about what the double bob is, which is why I said the use value was like $100 per use lol. If someone used it every day, I can totally understand that. But for me, it would be like 10 times total and then resell it for $300 and probably still not a good deal for me... That's why the $100 one I bought will be justtttt fine.

dogmama22 - I'm open to meeting next Friday. I have a pass at Red Balloon. That's about it because I let all my other passes expire and didn't renew. But whatever you have in mind.

We have red balloon passes too, so that works for me! I can also do a free guest at the zoo and I have 2 kids on my pass
Update on my new phone saga: after I called the automated system someone called me back. She specifically said there is no way to know when the driver will be back, I'll just have to keep calling to check. Around noon I get a text update from Verizon saying delivery was delayed and I thought that might have been triggered by the driver being back at the UPS facility so I called. They said it was there. Awesome. Shower, get dressed, head over there, no. It's not there. Not only is it not there, but the person working knows exactly what time that driver is scheduled to return. He's scheduled to be back around 5:15. Definitely by 6:00 if i want to be safe. Now why TF could they not tell me that in the first place?

Let's play it by ear and see how the weather is that week.

sstwinklinglites are you sure your RBC passes expire? I asked one time when I was there and they told me my passes have no expiration date. I believe I bought the 10 pass deal or whatever it was off cincy savers.

No, it doesn't expire. It's the only pass I have. I let all my other passes expire (like zoo, aquarium, etc.).
I've heard people like renting the City Mini Doubles - not sure if it's GT wheels or not down there. Easier to push than front-to-backs and seats lay flat for naps. But I can't imagine trying to get 2 through the airport with all the gear. Can you ship a box of stuff to your resort so it's waiting for you?
I do like my double at the zoo. So far the little one has slept through every trip. Curious to see how this spring/summer goes.
How do you keep the big from poking/ waking the little in a side by side?
He's very protective of his side and he's usually too busy looking at stuff.
Can you send me your log on and I will just book them for you? The good ones sell out and the good times. You get 3/ day.
That would be amazing and I will totally take you up on that offer... but I haven't bought tickets yet. I'm doing this all wrong, aren't I? 🙁
Lol. So you can go to their website and buy your tickets- look at the pass options carefully. They have park hoppers (for any park), ones that are for one park per day, some that are one park but you can come and go all day... decide what you want and you can usually get a discount ordering them altogether. Once you order your tickets (check the age too- you don't need tickets for kids under 3? I think) then you can book your fast passes for whatever park each day. So you could pick the top 3 rides you want to do and as long as you go there after the time you set, you can cut the line. So like if you pick a 3 day park hopper- you can do 3 fast passes in each park that day. If you do one park per day for 3 days, then the app will only let you do 3 fast passes in one park each day. Once you get there and use your passes, you can get more. You can also make dining reservations that way too. It all uploads and links to the Disney app- so each day it will show you an itinerary of your fast passes and dining. I did everything like a month before we went. Lots of stuff was booked up but I would just keep checking back and you can always grab stuff up and cancel other things.
Awesome becole, thank you!!! I'll look into it this weekend. You'd think I'd be all over vacation planning, but it overwhelms me and I procrastinate.
I think you can even buy tickets on the app so step one is downloading the app. Did you book your travel? Costco had really good deals that included your park stay and your tickets but you can't just buy the tickets.
