tjhine, hugs. Hopefully thins settle down and you can get back in your own house!
finnaroo, I also like #1. We have a cool like that in our dining room. I love it.
Not too much going on here. My great uncle is at the end of his life. He has cancer and is on hospice. Yesterday the priest visited him. I cringe every time I get a call or text message bc I keep thinking its news that he's passed. He's definitely at the phase where we are praying he goes bc he's in so much pain.
I have a question - at M's 15 month appt. the ped said that IL requires a standard blood test after a year old to check CBC, and lead levels. I've heard of this before, but I'm curious if anyone else has been through this here? M had a lot of blood draws in the hospital bc of being jaundice (through the feet of course), but how do they do they draw the blood now that he's bigger, though?
It makes my heart hurt thinking of having to "poke" him for this. It about killed me every time they drew blood in the hospital.

kkry123 They did a blood test at our 12 month check up. They pricked her finger and squeezed and squeezed until they had enough blood. Cadence HATED it, so I would take a "treat" of some sort.

L had one at 12 months. It was a finger prick. She was more annoyed by someone holding her hands still for 20 seconds than she was at the prick. It's over quick!
Thanks tgrimes1980 and klongoria11. I thought he would have mentioned it at the 12 month check up, but he didn't. It won't be a pleasant experience I'm sure, we have to go to an actual lab for it. I'll have to bring along some cookies as a bribe for after.

This is what I'm hoping for - but it makes me nervous since he's sending us to an actual lab. But he also did that with the follow up when he was jaundice, and that was just the foot poke and a few squeezes, over real quick.

We did this at 12 months, but they took the blood from her big toe. It took forever.
melaniesue05 so sorry about your uncle. T&Ps to you guys.
Our lab, who has never dug before in her 4 years, decided to tunnel to China this morning. Of course, we had rain all day yesterday, so we now have a nice muddy pit right in the middle of the grass.
:deep breaths: Off to try and fill it in and patch the grass back together. Argh.

klongoria11, RE: paci. I had the same thing happen with our daycare. It went on and on for two weeks of me telling them no paci except when he needs comforting OR a nap. Many days I would come in and it would be clipped to his shirt and obviously he had at it all day. I finally just took it home and didn't even leave it there as an option. It was a really tough decision and I was unsure for a while and they said he had a couple days of confusion over where it was then got over it. It is so frustrating when they (the daycare, not the baby) don't listen.
klongoria11 - this is a viable option - I'd like to see what their "difficult child" label changes to then.
M was never huge on the paci, but became dependent when he popped his first 2 teeth through. We inadvertantly went cold turkey on the paci when I forgot to pack it for the sitter's one day (my friend watched him for a brief period until we found a new DC). He did okay, just a little harder to get down for a nap, but was otherwise fine, so we just rolled with it. No paci since October.
Yikes tgrimes1980 - thanks for the info though - I feel more prepared about what to expect when we take him. I'm thinking I should just get it over with on Saturday (lab opens at 7 am Saturday). No sense in dwelling on it.
@sing2phins You lucky duck! Enjoy! JEMandtheHolograms Eek! So exciting! Eat all the pancakes!! tjhine Big hugs, mama! You're doing an amazing job!!
I'm back to work today. The doctor gave L a dose of Zofran at the office yesterday and his vomiting seems to have subsided. Thank God! I'm feeling much better, too...back to the daily grind!
finnaroo does she nurse all day still or just at night? I was able to successfully wean L off daytime nursing but can't get him off nighttime. I'm ready to be done with the nighttime feeds because he will literally latch on for like half an hour and when I try to pull him off, he freaks out. He's just comfort nursing and it frustrates me because I can't fall back asleep fully until he's off. He used to just latch a few minutes and be good but now he just wants to stay on all night. Ahhh, I'm really kicking myself for not breaking him of this habit months ago.
@peachsmama,I felt the same way when I left my previous job. But if this new job is going to be better for you and your family - you have to do what's best for you. At the end of the day, if push came to shove, the bank is always going to look out for the bank. You gotta have your own back. Congrats on the new opportunity!
shelbster both. All day and all night. Especially all night.
If we're out and about, she'll take milk or water from a cup. But she likes to nurse to sleep, which is fine. However, she fights sleep HARD (currently on 1h19m trying to get her down), so I wind up nursing off and on all day until she deems her crib worthy of her presence. She's tired, that much is obvious, but she will do anything to avoid sleeping.
At night, it's once she's in bed with us. She says "boobs" until I lift my short, and then she nurses all night long.
