Does anyone's son/daughter ask for milk ALL DAY LONG? C would probably drink like 40-50oz a day if I let him, we really struggle with keeping it at 16-24oz daily like recommended.
All day! I swear she drinks at least a gallon and a half a week! I thought the 16-24oz was a minimum . I'll be talking to her dr at her 15 month appointment next week.
M drinks a lot of milk. I try to keep him limited to 24 to 30 oz a day. He'd drink more if I let him. Some days he wants it more than others. The real problem is when he wakes in the middle of the night wanting milk.

They don't recommend more than 24oz because the calcium prevents other nutrients, like iron, from being absorbed. C has low iron, and I think it's from too much milk. They actually told us to keep his milk under 16oz if possible!
wineallthetime, yep. My ped says 16 to 24 oz is the suggested amount. Some days M will only have a couple sippys, other days it's like, GIVE ME ALL THE MILK. His drink of choice is always water or milk. He's not a big juice drinker.
I just want to sleep a stretch longer than 3 hours..
+1 on both fronts. I want more sleep and my boobs back. It's so hard to tell him no, he has an absolute meltdown if I say no when he asks for "booboo's" FIL keeps asking if he is still "on the titty"… yes, yes he is. And it's none of your business unless you plan on figuring out how to get him off. Thank you.
We didn't have to have a lead test done, but some of N's blood tests came back unusual when he was born and they just did the second blood draw from his hand.
N usually gets one sippy of milk a day sometimes two. He's pretty good about drinking it but never asks for more. He also gets a water sippy throughout the day to sip on whenever he wants. But as good as he is, as soon as he is tired he wants nothing but "booboo's"….
I almost snorted at your FIL saying "on the titty" LOL...so awkward. The males in my family have always refrained from bringing that up as a topic of conversation, thank Gawd!
Are there any straw cups that have straws similar to pouches? Cadence can suck down a pouch no problem, but straw cups confuse the heck out of her.
(My anti-pouch self had to finally give in to her pouch needs after she received some as Valentines.)
I don't know if they'd be close enough, but the Nuby straw cups aren't bad. They kind of helped B make the transition from the soft-spout sippy (which he started biting through) to straw cups and hard-spouts. The first few times I took the straw out so he just drank from them like a regular sippy, then added the straw after he got used to it. Plus, they do not leak IME.
ETA: tgrimes1980 and @elvk583 have y'all tried heating the milk a bit? At first B wouldn't drink it cold in the sippy (no problem with cold water) but I started microwaving it for a few seconds to make it puke-warm, and he was fine with that.
ETA again: I meant luke-warm, not puke-warm, but autocorrect changed it so I'm leaving it b/c it's probably about the same temperature.

Oh my goodness! This is crazy! The one time the in-laws have come to meet B, FIL said, oh time for you to 'plug him in' uh...WTF
That makes LO sound like a glade plug in air freshener. Haha

Puke warm made me laugh. Sounds like a lot of ladies here can relate to "puke warm" these days!
wineallthetime, E would drink a gallon of milk a day if I let him. Seriously.
Yesterday I was accused by opposing counsel of being adversarial. Today, the same client who I was dealing with that opposing counsel for, forwarded me an email from a different opposing counsel saying that I've been great and super easy to work with. I think I'm the IRL United States of Tara.
@lizinfl I tired it when we were first introducing sippies but haven't in awhile. That's a good idea, I should probably reintroduce it that way.
MH tried to give her her bedtime bottle a few nights ago without warming it and she pushed it away. It might be the warmth that she is needing rather than the bottle.
Not a fan of the love tit saying today. "___ just peed a little." Makes it seem like I was laughing so hard I peed. Love tits are for so much more than just laughs.
I just about punched a customer. Like seriously my blood is boiling. How people get through life being so incredibly stupid is just beyond me. I can't grasp it.
mamasoup030 I just caught up on your recent news. So sorry you've had such a rough time lately.
tgrimes1980 I'm sorry for your loss. How are his sisters taking it?
Insane day at work. I am actually eager for my anti-vax manager to return from mat leave so she can be a buffer between me and my VP.
A is on Silk and coconut milk, no WCM, and most days he probably drinks 8 ounces. He drinks plenty of water. We don't offer juice except a splash in his water once a week maybe? He has a smoothie about every other day.
Dude was up all night coughing again. My anxiety is through the roof. I am scared this year is going to be just like the last, with him being sick constantly. It's seriously making me consider an in home DCP where he'll be exposed to less kids as suggested by his ENT, but there aren't many options around here I like so far. I've even felt desperate enough to consider SAH, but I know I would end up hating it sooner or later.
G is back at daycare today. He was sick with this horrendous stomach bug for too long. His stomach is better, but he is super tired and has been going to bed early. I stayed home with him yesterday, and he was super cuddly. It's the only good thing about having to be home sick with him.
It is cold here, and I have been feeling so lazy with this weather. All I want to do is drink wine, eat chocolate, and watch tv. I would really like to find the motivation to be more active but the cold is bringing me down. I can't wait until spring!
Thanks for the input! I'm thinking #1. DH hasn't seen them in the daylight yet so I guess if he's completely opposed it will change, but he mostly lets me do what I want with paint.
cagoldi hugs. That's really rough and I hope that you're able to find a care provider that helps set your anxiety at ease and that keeps germs to a minimum.
@tgrimes I'm so sorry about your friend. I think the part where someone seeming better just before death is common. My grandfather wouldn't get out of bed for months. Then one day he asked to go watch this guy play the banjo at his nursing home. He was shaking his head and tapping his feet and we all thought he was finally improving. He passed soon after that.
melaniesue05 I'm sorry about your uncle. May he pass peacefully.
My car dealer just called. They still can't figure out what's wrong with my car but they think it may be bad gas so they are sending a sample to the lab. There is no way to share this story that doesn't make me burst out laughing. "I may have bad gas so they are sending it to the lab!"
Oh my god. Have you all seen the commercial for bleach where the little boy is mopping the bathroom.floor and the mom.sees him and is all like awww and then he sticks the mop in the toilet and keeps mopping the floor!?!? Ugh.
My kids mopped my floor with the dog water one day!
Along the lines of what @mx2 suggested could you look into a nanny share program cagoldi? Better cost and you get the benefits of a nanny and a little bit of socialization.
This would be ideal, but I haven't found one close enough to make it work. While a nanny here at my house would be best for my purposes, A would hate it. He loves being around other kids so much. I know we could build in little outings to the library, park, etc. but it wouldn't be enough to fulfill his need to be with his friends.
cagoldi I'm sorry A was up coughing. It is the worst seeing them like that, and then they just aren't themselves the next day since they didn't get good sleep. I hope he has a better night tonight.

You know those little caps that go over the bolts on the bottom of the toilet? I fished one out of A's mouth once. Turned my back for half a second to run the water for his bath, turned around to find him chewing on that. Makes me gag just thinking about it.

OMG. M is OBSESSED with those. We finally just had to take them off and leave them off bc he won't leave them alone. I about gagged when I found him chewing on one. Gross, gross, gross.
