JEMandtheHolograms We're post count twins! Let's kick this "noob" status stat!
I was obsessed with What Not to Wear..have you seen Stacy London's new show "Love Lust or Run"?
I'm not JEM, but I had no idea this existed...I need to look it up! I love WNTW. If my mom and I are shopping together and questioning an item, one of us will inevitably ask, "What would Stacy and Clinton say?"
@peachsmama,I felt the same way when I left my previous job. But if this new job is going to be better for you and your family - you have to do what's best for you. At the end of the day, if push came to shove, the bank is always going to look out for the bank. You gotta have your own back. Congrats on the new opportunity!
This, so many times. Well said. Congrats, @peachsmama!
@lizinfl Yes! It just premiered on TLC last month, I believe. It needs some tweaking but it's good. It's essentially the same concept but not nearly as developed. It's only a half hour show so we don't see much background, we don't get the full shopping experience, no behind the scenes of the hair/makeup process, etc. I've really missed WNTW, though, so it kind of fills the void for me, but I'm hoping they make some changes by next season!
I really want B to wean. She has 0 desire to do so. I'm trying to get dressed for the gym and when I took my top off to put my bra on, she ran over to me and latched.
Which color do y'all like more? 1-4 from left to right.
I personally really like the color of number 1 the most. But if your looking for what works best with the headboard I think number 2 coordinates the best. I also like color number 3 in general and think it would be nice and light and bright. I would not recommend color 4 for a whole room.
let me know what you decide....(I haven't read the thread yet so maybe i'll find out soon enough)
Yikes tgrimes1980 - thanks for the info though - I feel more prepared about what to expect when we take him. I'm thinking I should just get it over with on Saturday (lab opens at 7 am Saturday). No sense in dwelling on it.
We had our lead test done around 10 months, I think, at a lab. I just sat in the blood draw chair with LO on my lap, they took a vial or two from her, arm, like an adult. she didn't like it but i think it helped that she was sitting on my lap and then was ok once it was over.
L had one at 12 months. It was a finger prick. She was more annoyed by someone holding her hands still for 20 seconds than she was at the prick. It's over quick!
This is what I'm hoping for - but it makes me nervous since he's sending us to an actual lab. But he also did that with the follow up when he was jaundice, and that was just the foot poke and a few squeezes, over real quick.
Edit: quote box fail.
We had to go to an actual lab as well and they did a regular blood draw, not finger poke (so the butterfly needle in the vein type thing). Shockingly, C cried for a second at the actual poke and then just watched the whole thing. Hopefully your LO has a good experience!
I have a question - at M's 15 month appt. the ped said that IL requires a standard blood test after a year old to check CBC, and lead levels. I've heard of this before, but I'm curious if anyone else has been through this here? M had a lot of blood draws in the hospital bc of being jaundice (through the feet of course), but how do they do they draw the blood now that he's bigger, though?
It makes my heart hurt thinking of having to "poke" him for this. It about killed me every time they drew blood in the hospital.
Yep, what the other ladies said. I am in So Ill and we got it at 9mos at our old Pedi even though the new Pedi does it at 12mos. Thankfully they did not redo it. It is required for DCPs. In fact I had to get a waiver from my doc after E's 2mos appt for not doing the lead test even though the physical form states it is not done until after 6mos. It was awful. I am sorry they haven't done it. The test is for both iron and lead. I was not worried about lead but I was anemic during pregnancy and a bit concerned about the iron level. I was glad it was in normal range.
Yeah, my ped says he's not concerned, he said in all his years of practice in the suburbs he has only had one child test with higher levels of lead - but that was because the child had just come over from India with his parents. (Different environmental factors there) My ped did have to "waive" the lead test when we first registered M for DC because he was too young.

Does anyone's son/daughter ask for milk ALL DAY LONG? C would probably drink like 40-50oz a day if I let him, we really struggle with keeping it at 16-24oz daily like recommended.
finnaroo does she nurse all day still or just at night? I was able to successfully wean L off daytime nursing but can't get him off nighttime. I'm ready to be done with the nighttime feeds because he will literally latch on for like half an hour and when I try to pull him off, he freaks out. He's just comfort nursing and it frustrates me because I can't fall back asleep fully until he's off. He used to just latch a few minutes and be good but now he just wants to stay on all night. Ahhh, I'm really kicking myself for not breaking him of this habit months ago.

Some days the only milk Mara gets is the 4 oz in her bottle at night. She doesn't like drinking milk out of a sippy cup.
This is us, but sub the bottle for nighttime nursing. He'll *maybe* take a few sips from the sippy throughout the day, but otherwise not interested.
finnaroo is #1 a dark grey? I personally like darker colors on the walls in my bedroom.
It's Sherwin Williams Silvermist. It's a blue green gray.
I think that's what we painted our living room. It's really nice. Lighting makes all the difference, sometimes it looks more green, other times more blue.

This is us... We are still at 6oz in the bottle but once that bottle is gone, I'm not sure what she will be getting. She will only take water from the sippy.

All day! I swear she drinks at least a gallon and a half a week! I thought the 16-24oz was a minimum . I'll be talking to her dr at her 15 month appointment next week.
