Ok, we need help! All of our boys names are now off the table for various reasons (DH rhymed Ragnar with a terrible schoolyard taunt, Vladimir I'm worried has too negative a connotation bcse of Putin, blah blah blah)
SO, does anyone have any suggestions for Norse/Scandinavian boys names, ideally beginning with one of the following letters:
Taking a look at some of those and trying to remember what you had on the list the first time around, what about: Mikkel Silas Rasmus Valdemar Viktor Viggo
And in case you think that Finnish names count: Miro Markku Martti Mikko
I also like Minik, which is technically from Greenland. And Soren is a long-time favorite of mine.
And not really Norse, but Vladimir makes me think of Vladislav and Vaslav, which might work.

Thank you so much! DH loves Valdimar but I (perhaps ridiculously) keep thinking of Voldemort whenever I hear it lol! I think we've finally decided on a name, actually inspired by your list (it really got DH thinking/talking about names, which I just could not seem to do!):
Varro MacGregor
Varro is Roman (DH is part Italian) but it still sounds to my ear like a strong Scandinavian name, and it starts with V which is something we both really really really wanted:)

Oh, I like it! And I think it could pass as Italian or Scandinavian. I'd never heard of it before so if you told me either I would have believed you.
Well, we just found out yesterday we are having a GIRL! And the only name we had picked out was our boy name, which is just our luck. So we came to a compromise. I picked the first name, and he picked the middle. Eloise Nichole (nickname Ellie). He wants to give her my middle name, which is sweet but I was concerned about it being vain. He insists that it's not, because he chose it, not me. And really, I do like the sound of it better than other middle names we've considered for her.
If you're bored.... I need a feminine middle name, maybe that means something nice. I really wanted to acknowledge MH's grandmother - Elsie Louise - but a) Elsie doesn't "go" at all, and b) Louise has a LOT of negative connotation on my side of the family (if it didn't, I would actually use it as a first name option -- but it's just a BAD name for us). Our top three name choices for this little gal are all boyish names, so I'm looking for two or three syllables that are feminine (DD1 has a boyish name and Josephine as her middle name). TIA!

Eloise is so pretty! And I don't think your middle name for her is vain, especially since he picked it. But either way I think middle names are sort of anything goes. You could always think of it as a nice way to honor your mother and father since they are the ones who chose the name for you originally. You just like their taste!
We are strongly considering giving my middle name to this baby and I don't think its vain at all. Its carrying on a family name that I also happen to have.

@mamazbo, it's funny you mention "Ella" -- in our family, we add Ella to the end of everyone's names when we're teasing one another or as an affectionate NN. Kind of a riff off of Cinderella -- so Ella will end up as part of her name anyhow

So we are torn between Hayden or Damon. His middle name will be Duane. Opinions?
I like both of those first names; I'd usually lean more towards Damon but depending on your last name that could be a lot of D's If it's too many D's, then Hayden is a great option too......all in all probably not a helpful post but just wanted to say I like them both lol

That was exactly our problem. Too many D's thanks ladies !

@mrspanpan, I think Marie is a great middle name and I like it best with either Penelope or Frances out of your list. Family names always win with me if you like two names equally well so I would go with Frances Marie. Frankie could be a cute spunky nickname for a little girl.
For a boy, if you went with Joseph Sergio (and I love the significance to you of the name so I would go with it) would you consider Joss as a nickname? Its kind of a combination of his two initials J.S. and I don't think its too much of a stretch. You could also try for something using the latter half of his name -- Seth as a play off the -seph or Gio from Sergio. J also works perfectly well, but I think in these circumstances with so many Josephs around you might have to get a little creative. Or you could add a second middle name that you do want to call him and still have Joseph Sergio in there.
My grandmother's name is Georgia. DH thinks Winter is too "out there". That being said I think that is why I sort of like it. Which one would you choose?
Georgia Grace shines above the rest, in my opinion. Really like it!

I don't dislike Winter as a middle name, but Georgia Grace is the best of those 3.

We have two girls in here and the top runners are Silvia, Maya, Sarah, Allie and Giuliana.
I like Sarah and Allie the most out of those... Probably because they were 2 of our choices, well, Allison with Allie for short, which is what we ended up going with.

The name that stands out to me the most from your list is Maya - beautiful name imo. Of the remaining names, I think Silvia is my favorite match to go with Maya.

Georgia Winter and Georgia Grace are both great! They both have such charm to them, IMO Maybe practice saying them out loud as tho you were calling her over and see which hits your ear/rolls off your tongue better?
We haven't been able to agree on much yet for boy names. So far, he is Logan Daniel. DS1 has my fil's name for a MN, so ds2 will have my dad's name as a mn.
Ugh! I thought by this point we'd have our minds made up about a name, now it seems like we're more confused than ever! Our two choices were Maxwell and Benjamin, but after a lot of consideration I ruled out Max because it sounds similar to my husband's name when I yell it (haha), and they'll have the same middle name (and possibly the same birthday!)... But now I'm not sure. I love Ben, but it is common and a few people have mentioned the nn Benji, which I hate! A couple others we're tossing around are Parker (husband likes this more than I do, but I think it's cute), and Anderson (I like the nn Andy and this name has a bit of a family tie-in which is appealing to me). At least there are multiple names I like... But I'm having a hard time pulling the trigger.

queenb Benjamin is one of my favorite names, but it's my cousins sons name so off the table for us. He's 13 and if it makes you feel any better about possibly using it I have never heard anyone call him Benji for short. Most people call him by either his full name or Ben. I also really like Anderson.
We are in the same boat with deciding on a name. So many of our friends/family have little boys and all my favorites have already been used. We have a list of about 10 names we don't hate, but I just can't commit to anything. I'm hoping we can decide before this little guy gets here!

I like Parker and Anderson! Family names are sweet. I knew a Ben and I called him Benji, but only bc he hated being called that haha.
I'm rethinking the middle name now. Rowan is pretty much set, we've started calling her that. But now I'm not sure about Genevieve for the middle name and thinking of something Korea. Rowan Sora or Rowan Jaehwa (pronouced Jay-hwah)? I think Sora is easier for people to say, but it still won't be said how I say it and no one says middle names much anyways.

If you really love Benjamin, use it. A cousin's 13 year old son is so far removed, who cares?!?!
