H may be going on antidepressants. I'm not sure what to ask/research about what is safe while TTC? He said he doesn't wanna do it if it will effect our chances, but his health is important to me..
OOH! I know the answer to this question.
Most SSRI's such as Zoloft can affect sperm count & quality and libido. DH switched to Bupropion (wellbutrin) and it has been MUCH better for our sex life, and his last semen sample had many more healthy sperm than prior samples.
Awesome! I will definitely tell H to ask about Wellbutrin
I believe it is a technique employed by TCM (traditional Chinese medicine) meant to promote fertility by increasing blood flow and reduction of tension through gentle massage. I don't know anything on whether there is actual research to say if it is truly helpful.

What site do most people here use to upload pics? (I'm not talking about GIFs that already reside on the web. I'm specifically referring to if you were to upload something from your phone or personal PC)
I've been using tinypic, but I wasn't sure if that was the best one because I'm pretty certain that someone, somewhere has access to all of them.

I use tinypic, but I'm ultra paranoid and try to limit what I upload to stuff that I'm reasonably certain would be difficult to identify me from.

I thought of another question... How many days before CD1 does your temp usually start to fall? Is there a normal range, or is it pretty different for everyone?
My temp doesn't drop until CD3 or CD4, so... there's that.

Ah thank you! This is good to know; H is on a SSRI/anti-psychotic combo and while it definitely has an affect on his sex drive it didn't really occur to us to ask about how it would affect his sperm quality...iiiinnnteresting.

Usually my temp starts to slightly decline 2-3 days before I get my period and I get a pretty decent temp drop the day of or sometimes the day before my period starts. Then sometimes my temp doesn't drop until CD2. It's hardly consistent.
TTC #1 since August 2013 DX: Endo November 2014: Hysteroscopy, D&C June - September 2015: Clomid + Novarel + IUI #1-3 January 2017: Laparoscopy - endo removed
For those of you on Metformin, how long did it take before you noticed a change in your cycles?
**yes, I know everyone is different. I'm looking for anecdotal information.
Three months, it chopped them by half for me. And apparently I ovulated last month. My RE put a hold on our plan to start medicated TI to see if the metformin is actually doing its thing and helping my cycles out.

Mine drops somewhere between 2 days before and a day after. Most often it'll drop, I'll spot for half/most of that day, and then start my period late in the evening of that day or the next morning. The last two cycles it's dropped two days before (but not always below coverline).

I don't do it, but I have read about it on several sites.
See, I feel like with stuff like getting massages or doing yoga or whatever, it's probably not going to hurt so why not try it? And if it makes you feel like you're doing something more to help yourself, then yea.

Oddly enough my tilted pelvis totally screws up my yoga practice, so chiro works on it.. Found all this out just prior to TTC, so added bonus. I agree, if it isn't breaking the piggy bank and gives some emotional or physical benefit, no harm no foul
More opk talk. I tested at 1130 (second urine) and got a faint but definite line (so still negative). I tested again when I got home at 1030pm (hadn't peed for maybe 4 hours) and there wasn't a line at all. Still test twice a day? Or do you think it's safe to assume my peak LH for the day is late morning/early afternoon?

You don't necessarily have to have a fade in pattern. Keep testing.

No, I wouldn't assume that at all. I have had cycles where my darkest positive was in the morning and other cycles where it was in the evening. Personally, I test twice a day and also continuing test until I get a definite negative so that I can confirm that it was an actual positive OPK.

Keep testing until you confirm O with bbt or until your period shows. You may have surged and missed it, or you may not have surged. Or, you may have surged but not ovulated.
I know this post was from a few days ago but I have a question and didn't want to post a whole new thread.
I had my HSG on Friday and was told I would have a follow up and talk about being referred to a RE. Well, I called today to make an appt and my dr. doesn't have any availability until the end of July! WTF. I'm a teacher and have the summer off and was really hoping to get things started with the RE. I asked if the dr. could call me instead and she said she would leave a note so who knows! My question is if I could call a RE to make an appt and get my testing/files over or do I need to wait for my dr. to do it?

I went ahead and called to make an appointment with the RE, I have PCOS so they did not require a referral from my doctor. They just requested all of my records so they could have the testing I had in the last few months. Hope this helps!

Does your insurance require referrals? If not, call the RE directly. Otherwise call your doctor and ask for a referral. You could call the OB or your PCP. I got my referral from my PCP without a visit. They don't want to touch infertility with a ten foot pole.
Should pregnancy tests be taken with FMU, or does it not matter?
I don't think it matters. When I took a pregnancy test with DD it was around 9pm. I got a faint line, but a line is a line. I remember because I took it while watching Grey's anatomy. I retested in the morning and it confirmed my positive.
Should pregnancy tests be taken with FMU, or does it not matter?
Doesn't really matter. Your urine is more concentrated in the morning which is why it is recommended, but if you're pregnant, the test should work any time.
Married since 2010 DX w/PCOS in Feb 2011 Five cycles w/Letrozole+TI+IUI BFP w/injects+IUI in 2012 DD born May 2013 NTNP since 2015 Early miscarriage March 2015 TTA April/May BFP June! DS born February 2016
Should pregnancy tests be taken with FMU, or does it not matter?
The more concentrated the urine the higher the percentage of hCG available (assuming it's there at all). So FMU tends to work best, but if you hold your urine for a few hours it'll work the same.
Should pregnancy tests be taken with FMU, or does it not matter?
FMU is usually he most concentrated so it normally has the most HCG so it's recommended especially if testing early. I got my BFP's after my missed period in the afternoon.
Thank you mugster and andrea that was helpful! As far as I know, I don't need a referral with my insurance for any specialist. I will give it a try and call them today!
Should pregnancy tests be taken with FMU, or does it not matter?
With my BFP I didn't test until 3 days after I was expecting AF and got an obvious positive late at night. If I ever tested before my expected period I did it with FMU.
