I know this post was from a few days ago but I have a question and didn't want to post a whole new thread.
I had my HSG on Friday and was told I would have a follow up and talk about being referred to a RE. Well, I called today to make an appt and my dr. doesn't have any availability until the end of July! WTF. I'm a teacher and have the summer off and was really hoping to get things started with the RE. I asked if the dr. could call me instead and she said she would leave a note so who knows! My question is if I could call a RE to make an appt and get my testing/files over or do I need to wait for my dr. to do it?
If you don't need a referral and have an RE in mind that you like, then call away. But, I don't think that you should get to go ahead of other patients because you're a teacher and have the summer off. If the RE doesn't have appointments until July, too, you will just have to wait like the rest of us.
How irregular is cause for concern? My cycles have varied anywhere from 24-38 days for the last year. Generally sticking to 27-29 days it seems but there is a long or short cycle thrown in randomly fairly often. I'm just recently starting to get good consistent data (when we weren't actively trying I stopped temping daily bc it drove me nuts for DH to not be ready. I restarted the last 2 cycles bc he finally told me he was ready in the middle of April). From what I can guess my LP seems to stay around 10 days, which I'm also trying to lengthen naturally with clean eating and lots of dark greens.
ETA: I am Oing and there is a clear temp shift, so I haven't been worried, it's just very difficult to hit FW when the FW changes every month.

Irregular with concern would be 20, 60+, then 22 or something. You're ovulating regularly - I wouldn't be concerned.
I don't think you can "naturally" lengthen your luteal phase. You're at ten days, which is fine. Many women on this board have gotten pregnant with luteal phases of ten days. By all means, eat healthy! It's good for you, but it's not a cure-all and I actually don't think much is wrong.
To be honest, I don't even know how long my cycles are. I know my ovulation day each cycle and my normal range of luteal phase. I almost never calculate back. Ha.
pibblemom - you can add in OPKs! They will help predict ovulation for you.
I recommend the Wondfo cheapies over any fancy/expensive OPK in a drugstore. The expensive ones are a waaaaste of money and too confusing, in my opinion.

That's the reason why I want to get things started. I have in my mind that I will most likely have to wait for an appt...probably until the end of July or maybe even later. What I wasn't expecting is that I would have to wait until the end of July to have an appt with the dr. so that she can refer me. I never said anything about going ahead of other patients. When I call to make an appt, I'm not even mentioning that I'm a teacher. It's been a year and I've had all of my testing done, like anyone else, I want to get the help needed and not have to wait longer than I need to.

You said "I'm a teacher with the summer off and would like to get moving." I was just pointing out that your profession has no bearing on this.
Relax. Good luck. I hope your RE has appointments sooner!

Ok pibblemom, I'm confused. Are you just coming over here to ask questions because there's no knowledge on TD? Because you introed here, got some mild flames, then went back to TD to actively participate on a pretty regular basis.
Yet when you have a legit question or want a chart stalk, you come here? I just don't get it. If you want to be on TD, fine, whatevs, I don't care. What I do have a problem with is using us to ask questions but giving nothing back to this community and going back to TD without so much as a thank you.

RaeLynn28, keep in mind this journey involves a lot of waiting. Waiting to get an appointment, waiting for test results, waiting to respond to treatment, then not responded to treatment, benched cycles for all sorts of reasons. I understand being anxious to get things going, but try to relax and get in when you can get in. Good luck!

Yea, I said I wanted to get things started. Knowing I have the summer off with a flexible schedule was keeping me sane and this threw me off a bit. Thanks joy.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but you can simply call and ask for a referral in most cases. You shouldn't need to see your OB for a referral.
I called, then my OB sent a referral and I haven't seen her since September.
How many posts do you need to become a Bronze Reg, Silver Reg...etc?
I want to have a trophy sooo bad
1000 for a Bronze reg (I'm getting soooooo close!!!). I think Silver reg is 5000 and Gold Reg is 10000. I haven't seen anyone above Gold reg so I'm not sure what comes next!

No, I lurk both, mostly. I think my post count is pretty close on both boards. When I rejoined and decided to actively TTC, I was pointed over here. I like the no nonsense, no stupid questions aspect of this forum. Most of the participation threads here are drinking threads, and I don't drink much because of a roller coaster ride with alcoholism in my family, so I don't open them. I never really know where its "appropriate" to post when no one knows me otherwise, so i occasionally post in the WTO or TWW threads, sometimes answer polls that pertain to me, etc. Since this said Flame Free, I figured I'd post. I was told to lurk more, so I have been. The problem is that when someone lurks, no one knows it.

No, not trying to be rude, I'm at work, working. I love titted the replies to me, and then had to step away from the forum real quick. I thought that was thanks, but since its apparently not, thank you joy for answering my question without flaming.
For those of you on Metformin, how long did it take before you noticed a change in your cycles?
**yes, I know everyone is different. I'm looking for anecdotal information.
I'm late to this question, but here is my experience.
I started Metformin halfway through a course of Provera. I started Met on a Thursday and I got my period on Tuesday (the day I took my last dose of Provera). It could be a coincidence, but I usually get my period 3-4 days after Provera.

Huh? There's a "randoms" thread every day. There's UO, FFFC, Whine/Wine Wednesdays, Irrational Irritations (occasionally). There's GTKY threads. There's threads about TV shows. There's a chat. There's CAH games that get set up.
There are more threads here than there are over there, and way more ways to get involved. In fact, the number of drinking threads has gone down significantly over the last few weeks. I think there were some over the weekend, and maybe 1 or 2 during the week now?
There's not really an "inappropriate" place to post or participate. I mean, I guess it'd be weird if you jumped into the IF check-in thread when you were only a few months into trying, but other than that, it's pretty much a free-for-all around here.

I'm also pretty sure that drinking threads don't happen as often as they used to. Just sayin.

My comment was more in response to the fact that you only really participate when asking questions, you don't give support in return. If you are actively participating somewhere else then jumping in here when you need something, then yes..that's rude. If you really just lurk & don't know where to chime in at, there's a random thread posted daily. Full of random shit. Go there & get to know people. You don't have to be a drinker to participate in the drinking thread. It's like the random thread, but some people are drinking during it. You can bring water to the drinking thread.

Also, you aren't "required" to drink if you participate in the drinking threads. They are basically evening conversation threads... it's not like people just sit and talk about alcohol.

if you look at my activity, trust me, it shows that I creepy love tit all over the place. And occasionally answer questions that I can or give support and congrats too. Actually, I think today is the only time i've asked any questions, TBH, and its really because I'm really fucking tired of my body playing stupid games.
I read a lot of UO's and FFFC but a lot of times by the time I get to a thread its 11 at night and 10 pages deep and at that point I don't see the point because anything i feel like posting has long since lost its relevance.

I think its hard to understand, when you've dealt with someone you love being an alcoholic to the point of being in rehab and detoxing and a roller coaster for your entire life, it's sort of a trigger, so I avoid it. That's not to say that I don't enjoy a (few) glass(es) of wine or a rum and coke with my H now and then, but the last 3 weeks have been the downward side of that roller coaster so I've just avoided anything that might trigger me.
pibblemom, I have never participated in a drinking thread (because I'm usually not online in the evening when they take place). I am still able to contribute quite a bit. The randoms can be intimidating because of how quickly the page count gets up, but I promise you don't have to know what's going on to pop in there. It sounds like you have lurked long enough to understand the board culture, so now's the time to come out of lurking and play with us.
