One of our neighbors has kids with the same birthday. They were both born on May 13, three years apart. At least it's a boy and a girl. I would think two boys or two girls would be even more complicated. The kids are 4 and 1 so it hasn't been a real issue yet, so I don't know what they will do about parties in the future.
Thats a good birthday (it's mine too). I actually knew a lot of ppl who shared my birthday growing up, I just don't think it's the same as having a sibling. I was born and raised in a pretty small town and there were at least 3 of us (another girl and a boy) all born in the hospital here within 2.5 hrs of each other. Growing up our parents all ended up putting us in French immersion so we were in the same class at school all the way to grade 12. It was fun, mostly because we got to have way better class parties at school than other kids because there were 3 birthdays (and our teacher's too when we were in grade 2 and 3) to celebrate. The girl and I were really good friends and we had joint parties for years because it was easier with all the same friends. I know it won't really end up being a problem with my kids, and a lot of it will depend on how I handle it. I'm just feeling a bit of guilt as the day approaches. Luckily Madeline really doesn't know it's her birthday yet so she won't notice if I'm in labour that day and we don't celebrate until the weekend
I should send a thank you /follow up email, right? I was interviewed by the principal, one of the assistant principals, and the director of guidance. Send it to all three or just the principal?
I'm old school. I send hand written TQs to everyone I interview with. I once sent 4 to the same office. I have been told that it was VERY impressive and my old boss even had mine sitting on his desk until I left!
I like handwritten too, but my concern is that it wouldn't get there in time.
sctiger unless they are making the decision tomorrow, if you get them in the mail by COB today they should be to them by Wednesday at the latest. You could always send them and just send a short follow up email too to cover your bases (I did this once because I knew I was the last interview). But I think you should be fine if they get them this week unless you know it's some crazy quick turnaround.
Guise I tried just eating a banana, peach and a sweet potato in an attempt to fill me up with healthy stuff before a staff pizza lunch but it's not working. I keep envisioning myself busting through the kitchen wall like the Kool-Aid man and saying "ALL THE PIZZA!"
I am so glad I'm not one of those "#cleaneating #21dayfix #youeatdirtandimthebest people because I can't live in a world without pizza.
And I love the SPAM title and love this song! FFMC: I didn't know he was saying murderer for the longest time until my roommate corrected me. I was singing "word 'em up" which makes complete sense, right?
+1 however no one ever corrected me hahahahah until the good ol net showed me the way.

well usually because there are some people who would not leave enough for everyone else we usually have a 3 piece quota in our office. So I would eat my 3 pieces and then eat all the skinny girls left over pieces that they don't eat. I have no shame.

Ily even more now. We used to take the other teams left overs when I worked.

I'm going to write them today and take them to the post office. They might even get there tomorrow. They just started interviews today so that should be plenty of time.

My husband is being a bad influence so I'm putting my internal struggle here. I really like the baby jogger city versa stroller, it's got a handful of features I love (mainly parent facing seat). I've debated a million times if I should sell our city mini GT to buy one, since they are on clearance in the US, only $200, I could come out even if I sell the GT. I decided I wouldn't do it and I would just keep our GT (since I do LOVE it), until someone I know posted on FB that she's looking to by a used GT. I go down a rabbit hole again debating selling the GT and buying the versa. Had a long talk with DH and decided we shouldn't sell it, we both love that stroller so much and there are features the versa doesn't have that we don't want to give up. He tells me if I like the versa that much and it's only $200 that I should just buy it. I need to make a decision ASAP (it already went up by $20 on Amazon). We have the money in savings, and I could see us using 2 single strollers when the new baby comes. But we definitely don't NEED it.
DH is telling me just do it. I never spend that kind of money on myself because I always see the bigger savings picture (house, car, vacation etc). I'm so torn.
My brother's birthday is exactly a week before mine and we always had joint family parties. Separate cakes and we each could pick a theme. I don't ever remember being upset. We sometimes combined friend parties, too, when we were school age (stuff like a bowling party or renting a room at an ice cream place).
On our actual birthdays we got to pick what was for dinner and my mom would make a dessert of our choice. She went all out to make us feel special that day.
This is basically what my brother and I did - we are 4 days apart. And honestly, I don't like cake, so we never got two separate cakes - he just got to pick the cake flavor and I got to pick the ice cream. Neither of us are scared by the experience. And actually, now that we are all adults, it is rare that we get together for each others birthdays... except for mine and my brothers - since it is a twofer my other siblings make the effort.
Good luck huckleberry08 and sctiger. lioness13 your parties look great - I want to come! cricket we are debating a trip to MV later this summer. Glad to know you are nearby because I may be summoning some of the Mass moms! daffy2k how are you feeling?
megsw85 I would love to see teal. I feel like lots of people do Pink/purple, but you never see teal. But maybe there's a reason for that...
Teal looks really weird when its washing out. Ive seen people when it was wearing off and its not pretty. If you keep up with it then i say go for it.
That's my hairstylist said. We are doing purple this time for sure.
She says my hair holds the colour pretty well. This over a month of the pink. (Generally they say the colour only lasts for a week or two before fading

When I was growing up, every time we would sit down to dinner we would call dibs on other people's leftovers. We would yell "I've got whatever ____ doesn't finish!!" You wanted to get E, my youngest brother - that kid ate nothing. We did this once really loudly in a pizza place once - my parents must have wanted to crawl in a hole.
For the record - we weren't starving or anything. We just all wanted to have all the food.
I completely overdid it this weekend with all the party stuffs; absolutely exhausted but El had lots of fun. Personally I was just happy she was able to attend her own party because last year she was so sick she slept through it!

I wish I could say at least DD has lots of fun. She attended but screamed any time I left her side. She is not a fan of lots of people, especially when they want to interact with her.

Aw, poor E!
I was a little worried with El because she is also not super social nor a fan of crowds. It ended up that everyone there she does end up seeing on a semi-regular basis however and that really helped.
Plus she spent hours in her little plastic pool ignoring most of them
