We did that on our vacation. luckily in a king bed, but LO refused to sleep in his PNP. It took about a week when we got home to get him totally back on track in his crib, but it wasn't all that bad.

Oh, mine is like cginge,s baby...he used to win around 5/5:30 with wining when I just wanted the last hour or so of sleep Now he rolls around too much, so unless we get a guard for our bed I'm not bringing him in anymore. All of our extra bedding/quilts are currently in LO's room on the floor for the nights I end up in there on the floor. Which has been every night this week

So sleep regression hit us Hard last night this AM DD was up from 3am-7am then slept for 45 mins and was up for the day. She refused all naps. Until 2:30 when we all laid down and slept til 5:30. I was thinking oh crap she's. Not gonna want to go to bed tonight.... Nope I was wrong she currently headed to sleepy land and was ready for bed at her usual time at 6:30...sleep regression ending maybe... I HOPE SO....there's a light at the end of the sleep regression tunnel ladies... Maybe she will dare I say STTN. Since she's so tired....

LO was up every two hours last night until I brought him to our bed at 3:30....where he then slept for four and a half hours without making a peep. I should stop bringing him into bed but ugh. Sleep.

H is at poker night. I just realized he's never been alone with LO for more than an hour at a time, and it's been months since even that. That's not good, right?

Also, the other night, H asked me where LO's pants/shorts are in his dresser. Uhhh, the same place they've been for almost 6 months.

Sorry for venting. I've talked to H about this and I think he's just intimidated since I'm with LO all the time and ebf'ing. But dayum, mama needs some me-time sometimes that isn't taking a bath with the door open to listen for a crying baby.

He'll probably continue to ask where they are until LO dresses himself because he's a man. That's what they do.

Ugh, it's tough. I want to help build his confidence (which is not an issue is any other aspect of his life) but at the same time, I want him to initiate it and show interest instead of me forcing it. I also feel guilty because I "just" stay home (I need to get over this; being a SAHM is hard work) and he goes to work, and so I feel like I always defer to him getting a break instead of me. I think a big issue is that I like to take care of people I love and I overlook taking care of myself.

This is too much thinking for a Saturday night.

You and me both. I sometimes send the baby with DH when he's making a store run to get 10 minutes to myself. DH loves having solo time. I tell him, "It's dangerous to go alone. Take a baby."

In other news...DH and I DTD last night and it was so good (only like the 3rd time since last year when I started showing). He was one of those that was afraid it would hurt the baby regardless of all the information to say it wouldn't. It's definitely time to get back into the swing of things. This is one part of our relationship that I've really been missing. We just click so much better when we have a healthy sex life.

Hugs all around I agree it's been isolating. I try to surround myself with new 'mommy' friends but I just miss connecting with a bestie about this kind of stuff. +1 btw of H's who ask about eeeeverything. Even though he has Jake 3 days a week I still get texts all day asking about everything. I wish he'd be more confident and take initiative.

hollydfromtn that's awesome! Glad to hear it! It's nice, isn't it, remembering that connection with your SO DH and I connected again yesterday after playing Mario Kart and Wii Sports all night and having one too many beers, which also led to some old fashioned sexytime. It felt like travelling back in time. I hope we have more nights like this, it really helps.

I knew there was a reason I like you! DH and I have had some epic Mario Kart tournaments this summer after putting Brady to bed. I'm glad we aren't the only nerds out there.

I so wish Nintendo would just give up & admit they've been beat in the console market, stop making consoles, and let their awesome games like Mario Kart cross platforms. Love Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Donkey Kong but DNW to pay for an underpar console just for those.

Weekend getaway with the baby was a complete success! The baby did fantastic the whole time and even legitimately enjoyed swimming!!! (If anyone recalls, I had a real panic about a month ago because in spite of numerous attempts and ridiculously slow speeds he was screaming terrified of water). One hilarious bit though: DS had the blowout of all blowouts mid road trip and we had no choice (TRUST ME.) but to stop and buy a new car seat. The old one will be okay once we buy it a new cover.

Ugh having a bit of a sensitive situation with a friend of ours. They were trying to get pregnant for 6 years and finally succeeded on their 3rd round of IVF on our wedding day (WOOHOO! YAY!) and had their little boy 3 days after Jake was born so they're both around 6 months. The thing is, their kid is already in 9-12 month clothes, grown out of his carseat, and about 11 kilos (24+pounds). We had a playdate the other day and their LO drank 3 7oz bottles of formula in the 4 hours we were there. They live just over the border in Belgium so they get different childcare and recommendations from us.

I really don't want to meddle in their parenting style and haven't said anything for that reason, but it's getting harder every time I see them. The kid was a bit bigger than Jake when he was born but not dramatically so. She just laughs it off and says he's a big boy. I don't know how much longer I can bite my tongue. Everything I've heard them say about his feeding patterns has just seemed so unhealthy to me Anyone been in this position?

never been in that position, thankfully, but that seems like a whole lot of formula. My lo takes 6oz every 3-4 hours. But, I would probably just bite my tongue. I try not to give my opinions on stuff like that unless I am asked.

You're right, I should just remain silent. It's hard because she lines up all these situations where she asks a question but then doesn't actually want to hear the answer. I think I'll just continue trying to avoid playdates ihehehehehe

WittyLittle That is a lot of formula. Maybe it's watered down rather than using a hungry milk formula? DH had that done to him because he demanded so much formula milk. They might also demand feed him and he takes less at other times.

Some babies grow really fast and gain a lot. DS is over 9kg and that's with weight gain issues. If it hadn't been for the month of no gaining, he'd probably be close to 10 or 11kg. Some of his clothes are 9 to 12 months. My friend's baby was about 4kg at birth and probably would have outsized your friend's baby at 6 months. And little miss exorcist reflux baby was definitely not getting overfed. Someone has to populate all parts of the curve.
