WittyLittle That is a lot of formula. Maybe it's watered down rather than using a hungry milk formula? DH had that done to him because he demanded so much formula milk. They might also demand feed him and he takes less at other times.
Some babies grow really fast and gain a lot. DS is over 9kg and that's with weight gain issues. If it hadn't been for the month of no gaining, he'd probably be close to 10 or 11kg. Some of his clothes are 9 to 12 months. My friend's baby was about 4kg at birth and probably would have outsized your friend's baby at 6 months. And little miss exorcist reflux baby was definitely not getting overfed. Someone has to populate all parts of the curve.
Oh sorry plesse don't get me wrong, it's not the weight itself (for example my nephew is in thd 95th and 99th percentile and healthy and happy), but its more about things she says and does, like letting him eat her cake when we weng to ikea a few weeks ago and then saying there was something wrong with the cake because her son got the runs, which are making it difficult. Agh its none of my business and I'm being judgemental but i just cant get it out of my head!

Cake is totally different. I wouldn't let my baby have cake. His smash cake will be his first and even then I'll probably make it super healthy (gross for adults and perfect for destruction). I understand where you're coming from now.

WittyLittle Cake at 5 mos old is crazy. My mom slipped DS some icing at his half birthday party we had and I was not a happy camper. She said "Well it's his party. He has to have some cake." Ugh....not when he's barely 6 months old he doesn't.
Weekend getaway with the baby was a complete success! The baby did fantastic the whole time and even legitimately enjoyed swimming!!! (If anyone recalls, I had a real panic about a month ago because in spite of numerous attempts and ridiculously slow speeds he was screaming terrified of water). One hilarious bit though: DS had the blowout of all blowouts mid road trip and we had no choice (TRUST ME.) but to stop and buy a new car seat. The old one will be okay once we buy it a new cover.
I had to do this when my daughter was about 18 months. I have never seen that much poop in my life and have no idea how much force it took to get it all the way up her back into her hair. I didn't even care about the money because it was gross and I couldn't travel with the smell. We threw the car seat away in a dumpster at Target before getting back on the road.
Love tits to all you guys who said mommyhood is lonely because I totally am feeling the same way. It's wonderful and amazing but it's hard.
Hugs. I have no momma friends and my real friends have dropped off the face of the planet since DS was born. That sounds really sad, but just know, you aren't alone.
Same. My friends don't have children except for one. I feel bad every time I bring up O because I think they will be annoyed with me for talking about my kid again. I'm lonely and boring now

WittyLittle, My brother and SIL were like this. For my nephew, it didn't make him fat later in life, but he is on ADHD meds so who knows if he would have been. Now my niece is huge! They have never controlled her portions and she has always been enormous. Now she is ten (3 days younger than my DD) and is so much bigger than my daughter. She has the biggest belly. This child is unhealthy and will be tormented (she might already be) by classmates for her size.
To me, it is unfair to set a kid up for an unhealthy life. I'm overweight myself but continually work on it. Kids need boundaries set early to develop good habits. This really gets under my skin because the kids are the ones to suffer later. I don't know how you could discuss this with her without hurting her feelings or losing a friendship. It is a sticky situation.

YUP!!! It was like "how did he get it in between his toes?!? Waaaah"
My count went down since I took proboards off my phone. It was killing my battery. Plus at work the only time I really have is during pumping, but its hard to type. So I only go on at night at miss out on most of the chatting on spam threads and such.

Guys, what's up with probiotics? My little man is so gassy and his GI doc asked if we did probiotics, then something distracted both of us and I forgot to steer back to it.
jensoprano82 mmmmmmmmmmmmhmmmm! That's the face I was greeted to this morning also!!! And multiple times last night. yawn
We had two wake ups Friday and Saturday night. I was so excited that I made the rookie mistake of celebrating the awesome sleep yesterday. Hahaha. Back to 5 wake ups last night. But this face is so true!

We do them. They do seem to help with him digesting formula and having fewer gas pains.
