Well at least I get some good news today. The director of music just answered my email and said I don't have to reaudition. So thank goodness for that, at least.
Does anyone else's sweat smell different? My deodorant is still working but I can smell my back sweat. It's not a bad smell but just weird that I can smell it.
Yes. All my smells are different. Its just weird.
Same here. All my... umm... secretions smell different now. Not gross, just like they'really from somebody else. I asked DH about it. He hasn't noticed. Weird.
zonagirl That's so much to process at one time! Sorry things aren't going as planned. I am actually really annoyed with your MWs on your behalf. If three of them were unsure, you should have been sent to an ultrasound earlier. That way, if the results were that your little girl was breech, you'd have more than a week to mentally prepare.
I have no experience; but I wish you the very best in the next week!

Yes, so much yes. And TMI my crotch sweats so much and I smell it ALLLL day long. Ew.

Keep pushing on the admissions / financial aid people. A lot of times, if you complain loudly enough and can show them that you were promised certain things, they'll realize their mistake and get things cleared up. But it's often a lot of pushing and big pain in the butt. Also, keep in touch with anyone who has been even moderately helpful to you (like that Dean of Admissions or the director of music), and see if you can get them to advocate on your behalf. I know all you want to do is sleep and be pregnant, and maybe today, that's what you do. But I hope you're able to make some progress soon.
zonagirl, so sorry to hear that your birth plan is out the window. The advice to demand a 2nd ultrasound to confirm isn't a bad one. They are bad at estimating size at this point especially since you probably haven't had an ultrasound since 20 weeks. That said I had a c-section with my first due to growth restriction and it was fine. I would make sure that you emphasize that you want to be with her as soon as you possibly can since that first hour when we got separated for a long time was really the only hard part for me. Also, the long-term prognosis for growth restricted babies is great so don't worry about long-term outcomes.
gingerygirl, ugh. I've been meaning to reply to your PM all day. I'll try to get to it tonight, but I have some ideas.
And since I know you all want to know the further adventures of crazy friend: she responded to my husband and said that they are having one more blood draw tomorrow to see if the last one was just a fluke and then no further blood tests all pregnancy because "they wouldn't do anything differently anyway" and would only get ultrasounds. I'm sorry, but why in the world are you acting like low HCG means that someone might terminate a pregnancy? Its low HCG, not a genetic issue with the fetus! So so crazy. At this point I've almost gotten around to being amused by the whole thing.

Yeah MH is really pissed about that. He is going to complain. If we had found out in time we could have taken steps to try and flip her. Now it is too late...
38 week appt was okay. No change in cervix... still .5cm dilated so WTF contractions, WHY U NO DO ANYTHING USEFUL?? Fundal measurement increased 1cm to 36. I'm 38+4 but OB isn't concerned so I guess I'm not either. I think tonight I will try to have all the sex as a makeup for our fight yesterday, but mostly in hopes that it will move things along (probably not).
I'm seriously behind today, but wanted to tell you that I'm sorry about the anxiety and issues you're having right now. I hope you can get in with another therapist once your new instance kicks in and they can help you! Hugs!

Mine too! I always have sweat lines down the sides of my undies when I go to the bathroom...and I'm like what? I didn't feel like I was sweating there?!

Sounds like a lot of you need hugs today. ❤️
I finally got to see my OB again today (it had been 3 weeks) and all looks good! I've gained more weight than I would like, but they aren't concerned.
Doc did the Strep B swab and did an ultrasound. He said baby is measuring at 6 pounds 12 oz.
Here's a creepy pic that shows her nose, closed eye and cheek. I think that's her hand over her mouth? He mentioned she had her hands on her face. I'm so interested to see what she really looks like!
Ok, weird random...would an inside baby being TOO active be a concern? I am literally getting beat up today. I had a day like this on Saturday too and then Sunday/Monday we were very quiet which is what caused me to call the Dr. After what I'm going through today, I wouldn't be surprised if the kid slept for the next 3 weeks.
I asked the exact same thing at one of my July MFM appointments, and was told not to worry by "too much" movement -- it's not a "thing" and odds are high s/he is just trying to get comfy in there and growing out of room.
Quiet day here -- yesterday, shit beat out of me. Today, quiet that causes stress. HAPPY MEDIUM, PLEASE.

l I don't know the answer but sometimes I worry (too much I am sure) that the movement is stressful for LO, like sometime I wonder how comfortable can it be in there.
Yeah, not just you. Swamp crotch. It's a thing. Why is it not in the pregnancy books?
Yes, the swamp crotch is ridiculous. I am changing my underwear like 3x a day.
YES! Laundry every day because I'll run out of underwear, but I have to change it a few times because it's just sweaty and gross - and I'm not even wearing pants!

I don't think it is a concern, but ask your MW or doctor.
DD used to shove her heels up into my ribs and just press on them. And this baby appears to be all elbows and knees. DH is thrilled because he wants our kids to love jujitsu like he does and he likes to pretend the heel hooks and the shrimping are all signs of future grapplers. Both kids are/were little acrobats in there and my MW has always been happy about that.

OH -- and, incir your friend sounds like a peach. We have one like this too, and I make MH do all the communicating because I can't handle her. I love the "no more blood draws" line -- what bullshit. And btw, if you don't want blood drawn, then good luck waiting until 20+ weeks for male or female parts to POSSIBLY be incorrect come delivery day.

DH refers to this one as a prize fighter. STM+ moms can you recall if movements reflected later personalities, I don't really remember DD being this violent. And she is and always has been very mellow.

My DD is an off the wall crazy person as a toddler, but in utero, she was mostly chill. No big wild movements, was a really chill baby, but this wild person showed up as a toddler. MIL says this is how H was, too. Chill in utero, chill as a baby, and all of a sudden the crazy toddler showed up.
This baby is crazy movement ALL.THE.TIME in utero, so we'll see how he is as a baby.

I have wondered this also. Baby E seriously seemed like she was trying to break out this morning. SO much really strong movement. It hurt & I can't imagine it feels nice in there for her either.

Both dd1 and dd2 were not big movers. I could never do kick counts with either. Both are pretty laid back and were /are easy babies.

I'm not sure, but it's funny if when it does line up. DD was crazy active, and she is one of those tiny kids who eats nonstop (I feel like we throw calories at her), but who burns it all off so fast because she's so busy. She's a little firecracker - this is even more expected because she's named after my firecracker grandmother. We joke that this one had better be like my best friend or our little brothers, who are sort of calming influences on the rest of us.
Apparently DH was crazy active in the womb and he's also a really active, opinionated, outspoken kind of guy, and his brother was really quiet and calm both in the womb and to this day.
I am loving all the bf and latch tips and encouragement, I had hard time with dd and am so stressed, more so than about Labor.
Yes. I am not worried about labor at all. I am scared to death of trying to breastfeed again.
I'm trying to do all the everything to prepare myself this time around. I have already hired a lactation consultant, and I'm meeting with her on Friday for an initial consult. Hopefully, she can give me some more things to do to prepare, because that's really the only thing that helps manage the anxiety.

My first was so quiet and shy in utero. My husband could never feel him move because anytime he'd get close or if I even talked, he'd immediately stop kicking.
Now, he's a wild man. And so outgoing and gregarious that it's kind of ridiculous. So, yeah, no relation for me between kicks and later personality.
