I wish I knew how much this kid was actually getting. He sometimes only stays latched for about 10 min per feeding and goes hours in between. I feel like there's no way he's getting enough.

How badly do you want to know? I ended up buying this scale so I could do weighted feedings. Or ask your pedi if they can let you do a weighted feeding there:

How do his diapers look? Lots of wet and some poopy? If you said yes then he's likely getting enough. Ethan doesn't nurse long. Neither did isaac. I have/had a great supply.

Definitely lots of wet and poopy diapers so I guess he's ok. I've got the first time Mom so everything worries me thing going on haha

When isaac was in the NICU and he'd nurse for 5-10 minutes I was always worried. So I get that. Lol
Can you get mastisis if you're not breastfeeding? I'm pumping. I already had it 3 weeks ago in my left breast and had flu-like symptoms and a very sore, swollen breast with a red patch. The doctor told me it was caused by bacteria transferred from the baby's mouth through cracks in my damaged nipples. This time baby hasn't come in contact with my breast and I don't have any cracks, as my nipples have healed. I did have flu-like symptoms (might actually have been the flu) but it only lasted a day and a half, and I have a red patch on my right boob but it isn't sore.

yes. I got it 3 weeks after I stopped pumping for dd#1. She never breast fed. I had no idea what it was, and neither did the doctors. We were all worried about my incision until I found the red, hot spot on my breast.
I don't even know what to do about the cracked nipples anymore. Latch is good, several LCs have told me there aren't any ties to be concerned about, yet here I am in pain with deep cracks that make my whole chest hurt. Why? It's been almost 6 weeks shouldn't we be moving past this?!

I've been using APNO(all purpose nipple ointment) it's a prescription my OB ordered me after seeing the damage. It's helped and saved my nips! My doc also thinks it may treat suspected yeast in leftie.
