So my doctor called and said HCG was good at 1600 but my progesterone was really low at 8.9. They want me to come in for an ultrasound at 10 so now I am freaking out.

Do they know how far along you are? Average hCG at 5w is about 1k, an u/s this early seems strange. Regardless, HERE is a good website for what to expect to see at an u/s any given week. I hope you come back with good news!

Thank you for that. I told them yesterday that I ovulated later but they were still trying to base it on LMP.
summerdonna I had the LMP vs. Ovulation date fight with my old OB when I was pregnant with J. It's like they think we are too stupid to pay attention to our bodies, that we all have 28 day cycles, or that all pregnancies are accidents. This time I saved them the trouble and predicted my own due date using the ovulation date then gave them a LMP date that matched

That's what mine is doing too. Not that it matters too much for me since I won't get my first ultrasound for awhile anyway.
summerdonna, I had this happen in my first pregnancy. I ended up having to take progesterone pills and that's all. Like you, I KNOW I ovulated later than they wanted to do based on LMP and BOOM with 8 week ultrasound they adjusted my due date which put MY calculations right on track! Why won't they just LISTEN TO US?!?!?!??!!? Since I was already taking the Progesterone, they had me keep going until the end of either week 11 or 12. I don't recall. On the plus side, you get to see your little bean on US!!!
I took another pregnancy test this morning. I just felt like I had to, so as soon as I got to the hospital I "borrowed" a test from L&D. I like seeing the pink line!
Also, I love how many nurses are on this board!!!!

Since you're pretty much guaranteed to not see much, they'll likely have you come back in a week or two to confirm growth since they're going by LMP.

I love that you're here babycaps. Someone has to be able answer my dumb questions

When I called yesterday she said we won't have you come in for an ultrasound because its too early but now they want me to so it's strange. I'm just happy the hCG seems to be where it should be.

My OB last time was so stuck on LMP even though I knew exactly when I ovulated because I was doing fertility treatments. This time I ovulated on CD13 so I've been going by my LMP so I wouldn't have to fight them about it but then my new OB moved my LMP up by one date so it would match my O day. So now I've got my mind set on the 17th but she is probably going to use the 16th. I can't win!!! Lol

summerdonna, GL with your ultrasound! FX for you, but it's encouraging that your hcG levels are good! And how fun to be able to see your little bean already
babycaps, I wanted to buy more pregnancy tests when I went shopping earlier this week simply to see the positive! It's so encouraging and fun! I didn't though, but now you make me wish that I had.
Speaking of questions. We have a gift card to a local restaurant and I have a coupon for a free appetizer. I told MH I wanted to get the fried mozzarella sticks and he thought mozzarella was a cheese I shouldn't be eating while pregnant.
That's not true is it? I thought it was only unpasteurized cheeses/soft cheeses.
Sorry my FTM/first pregnancy lack of knowledge is showing.
I haven't been able to check in as much as I have wanted to. Life with four kids is busy, yo! I've been in a bit of a panic thinking that when this new baby arrives it's only going to be more busy, but I have always wanted a big family, and I know that it will all be perfectly fine! I'm just surprised still that we have our next one on the way already. And slightly sad, because I'm not ready to be done having babies yet, and this one will be our last. But at least all the kids will be close in age and have each other
Today is my first day that I haven't had something going on. It is so nice to finally be able to sit and relax in the morning instead of trying to get all the kids ready to run errands!

teraiin eat all the mozzarella sticks! You should just avoid soft, unpasteurized cheeses (Brie, feta, bleu) except honestly if you're in the U.S. It's nearly impossible to find unpasteurized cheeses.

Okay good! That's what I was thinking but wanted to make sure I wasn't being dumb!

Focus on the good things for now and keep us up to date. You will probably have to go on progesterone of some sort, but it isn't that bad.

I am exhausted. My kiddo was sleep crying all night off and on...and then woke up at 6:30am yelling ELMO.
Also, feeling so sick.
This is something my kid would do. The only good thing I can think about switching out of a crib would hopefully a decrease of morning yelling. Like maybe she'd walk out of her room and whisper cute things to me instead of screaming for crackers at 7am?
