I'm so happy there are more and more of us playing in this thread. Though I'm not happy for the pregnants playing here... wishing for all the restful, uninterrupted sleep for you guys, as impossible as that may be.
I'm up. Lucy wants to nurse nonstop this evening. I'm ready for her to go to bed. I have a sore throat & runny nose & Im exhausted. Why did we decide this baby thing was a good idea again? (Just kidding - totally love her - just wanting to sleep)
H goes back to work tomorrow so I'm trying to take on the brunt of MOTN stuff rather than splitting it 50/50 like we have been doing. He's currently snoring. I'm glad he's getting sleep but I'm so jealous.
Good luck tomorrow @usernamesarehard & CharlieB! My mom's still in town for another week so I don't feel completely terrified...though no amount of my mom, as great as she is, can replace the kind of support I've gotten from H the past month.

My H goes back to work tomorrow too. I cried for an hour earlier. Not because I can't do it by myself or anything like that, but because I have absolutely loved every minute of being patents with him so far and spending such quality time together. He's been amazing and I am not ready to share him with work again. Tuesday-Thursday he will be gone and his regional corporate meeting. Not looking forward to that one bit. Tomorrow is also our anniversary. So many feels. I cried over that today too. Needless to say I've cried a lot today. Ha
I could have been nursing them this weekend, but I really wanted them to gain weight. Since they are so small, nursing can end up burning more calories than they take in. This happened last week and their weight dropped. Not a whole lot, but enough to make me want to wait a bit and let them take the milk from a bottle. But, I LOVE having them nurse. They both gained weight. Tyler is over his birth weight (!!) And Keira is super close to being back up to hers. So, I think I'll nurse every other day for this week and see how they do!
Squishy622, is it easier to tell the girls apart now? Have you noticed different features?
Yes! I can pretty much tell them apart by looking at their faces now but so far I'm the only one who can
About a week ago we figured out that their right ears are identical but their left ears have a funny mirror image thing going on. M has a little indentation and L has a little point in the same spot.. so we don't have to rely on L's toenail polish anymore!
Ugh, pumping again. This would be a lot more fun with the baby cuddles of nursing. I think I'd also feel better if it didn't take me 15-20 minutes to pump an ounce :-( I think I may be giving Domperidone a try on top of my current routine. It's really hard to feel like this is worth it for one feeding's worth per day...

Oh good Lord, my kid poops. And they stink to high heavens. And he poops in little squirts... I never know if there will be more so we change him. I've changed 10 poopy diapers today...

So many hugs! I took Dom for DD1... let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks hon- I may come back to you on that. I did it with my first but remember nothing. I'm waiting to hear back from my LC and then have to remember how to go about ordering (I think I used that In house pharmacy site before but remember hearing somewhere that you can get it through a compound pharmacy, so may check out that route). It's just so frustrating that a few days can seemingly make or break your ability to feed your child :-(
Ohh nooo CharlieB. You're right, tomorrow must be better. Hugs!
@usernamesarehard Yes I was sleeping! We figured out a good system to get me a longer stretch. I do the feeding around 9ish and then head to bed. They're usually up around midnight, and H is usually still up then anyways so he'll give them bottles, and then I get up for the next feeding at 3ish.
It backfired tonight when their timing was off, I woke up at 2:30 feeling like I was going to explode so I'm pumping now. Hope they sleep a while longer before I have to get up with them again.
Man, the PP sweats are alive and well over here. I ended up stripping down to my bra and underwear during the night. I was still sweating a ton the next time i woke up so i laid a towel down on my bed to sleep on. So gross.
OMG!!! I forgot ALL ABOUT this part of postpartum. My sheets used to be nasty soaked every day! Gross. I've already started having insane shedding of my hair and I haven't even had the baby yet. My hair was EVERYWHERE after I had DS.
Random, but just a suggestion for the MOTN thread...we might want to do a daily MOTN thread b/c this one is bound to get out of control and hard to keep up with, especially as more babies start arriving. At least maybe start one every couple of days? What does everyone think?
My stupid IV monitor keeps going off. When the alarm went off the first time, it was because the battery was running low but it scared the shit out of me! My husband and I were actually both sleeping, too...and then it went off again due to air in the line. Sleeping in hospitals is damn near impossible.

Yep. Those monitors are tricky, mine kept sliding off. Poor DH slept terrible all 4 nights we were in the hospital. They really shoukd make the bed for dad's better. It was terrible.

Between that and the BP monitor, it's ridiculous! Good luck! Hope you are able to get a little rest!

Good luck! When my iv alarm wasn't going off, it constantly sounded like a kitten meowing. It was annoying.

We finally got a rock and play. I finally got to sleep in my bed for the first time in 2 weeks!
Oh, and I'm sorry to report to the sleep deprived that there is a growth spurt at 2 weeks. Alex was feeding every 45 minutes to an hour for 2 days. Hopefully we're done with that for now.
