Honestly, since I haven't been to a circus in years, there were not even a lot of animals. Out of the almost 3 hours, I think maybe 30 minutes featured animals. The rest was acrobatics, gymnasts and other entertainment.
That's a start. I won't go to the circus if there are animals. Even as a child I felt this over whelming sense of sadness. Sea World, even as a child majorly bummed me out. I've always felt a great compassion towards the treatment animals. I care for feral cats working with local TNR and volunteering. Wish I had the confidence when I was younger to stick with vet school. It's certainly a passion of mine.
I'm with you on this, I would never go to sea world after seeing the movie blackfish. Mistreatment of any animal breaks my heart.
Count me in on the no sleep club. Woke up at like 3:30 trying to force myself back to sleep. Finally fell asleep around 5am.
Woke up this morning to finding piss spots from my dog. I am at a loss on what to do with him. I used to crate him while we aren't home or at night but he is older (10) and his anxiety separation is getting worse with age and he chews on his crate and has almost lost or broken all teeth on one side of his mouth. So I hate to crate him now but now he pisses on the floor. At least it's hardwood and easier to clean up rather than carpet but it's so frustrating. Btw, he has always been the type of dog to pee if he has to go- he will not hold it like most dogs. He is a mini dachshund (wiener dog) and they are notorious for bad behavior. I'm also nervous about bringing baby home with him. He is fiercely protective of me and can be aggressive.
can you speak with a dog trainer now to see if you guys can do something to prepare before baby gets here, not gonna lie it would scare me to think of him being aggressive towards baby
My SIL is a vet and we have talked to her and I've read a lot of things we can do to prepare him. I've been keeping him off the couch I sit on so he gets used to not sitting with me. I also put him on doggie Prozac bit of course he had side effects to it. We are currently using a calming pheromone collar. It's doing better but at his age it's hard to correct bad behavior. But we are trying.
Most days I feel really good. I was drinking about 70-80oz of water and bumped that to 100+ and it made a huge difference. I forgot my support belt to teach class yesterday and could really tell the difference through my back. It's hard enough having to continue to modify more and more each week due to just not being able to maintain the intensity for the entire class, I'm super dreading having to actually cut out classes soon. It gives me anxiety thinking about it!
ugh I bet! I'm so impressed that you are continuing, can you teach something else in zumba's stead? I really need to drink more water too, I just hate it!
I'm still playing volleyball each week but I'm guessing I'll have to stop soon and that makes me sad, I'm still teaching spin and plan to do that till the end, but I only have one baby in there!
There's about 5 classes I could teach until the last minute. 3 are a strength and conditioning and 2 seniors/low impact/rehabilitation classes. The strength and conditioning is more like personal training.
I was doing spin but they needed to redo the evening schedule and needed me elsewhere. Oddly enough, spin was really hard on me so I was fine with it. When I was pregnant with DD it was no problem. These are different bikes but I would get BH like tightening after about 15 minutes. It was so strange.
I hated the travel system. I wish I had listened to the 5373835738 million people who said they wouldn't get one if they could do it over again.
What is the deal with travel systems? The stroller/car seat system we got doesn't seem to be bad. It's fairly lightweight and the stroller can be used with an infant carrier through older years. It doesn't seem like it's bulkier than other strollers so I just couldn't figure out what the deal was.
Im getting the Chicco Carseat Carrier. Its not a travel system, its what it sounds like, it pretty much carries the newborn carseat...Its way lighter and cheaper! .. Than we will get a double stroller for baby #2 or you could get a really nice stroller for when the baby its older. Got this idea from www.lucieslist.com, if your needing help this website helped me out a lot!

@tinyjoys I don't think that makes you sound entitled. We have the same problem with the cheapo toys that don't work properly or toys that are for older kids and he gets frustrated because he wants to play with them, but can't figure out how. I don't get it! She sees him screaming and crying, and she just sits there with a huge smile on her face and comments on how much he loves it.
We are going to try the whole toys you buy stay at your house rule next time she gives him a gift. For things like Christmas gifts, they never make it in the house and he forgets about them quickly.

MIL bought us our stroller and car seat already but I also registered for a frame stroller as well, just in case

that is weird. I'm glad you can teach something, I would totally even teach aqua if I had to

After awhile it's a hassle to have this huge stroller every where you go. I don't like strollers period, they are annoying. I had the little umbrella type stroller with DD and loved it. When she was smaller I'd throw her in the sling and skip the stroller all together. I think some people really like the travel systems, but a lot think they are bulky and take up a lot of space and just too much.
They never seem to be big and bulky until you're dragging it in and out of your car with your hands full of shit in the pouring rain while getting a screaming baby in the car. There weren't many places we took DD when she was little that she couldn't manage in the infant seat. Grocery store, gym, restaurants, etc. I got what I call a "heavy duty" umbrella stroller and it was seriously the best investment ever. DD has used it from about 7-8 months on and still uses it. It's a little heavier than a basic umbrella but pops out on a dime and folds up ready to throw in the car in two seconds. I loved it so much I bought their twin version as well. I am going to buy the stroller frame only for car seats this time.

I've always wondered... what do you do when baby grows out of the infant seat? Get a new stroller or is there a new attachment?
You would get a new stroller, but this gives you about a year, and it easy to travel with, lightweight, big basket... Than you would buy a "real" stroller, like the city mini or watever you like... but this will work for us because we would rather save the money and buy the double stroller than spend the money on a big travel system for one...even if you are only having one baby it would also work because some of the strollers that aren't travel systems are wicked nice! To each his own I guess
We're at my parent's house this weekend for my niece's 1st birthday. I'm super excited to spend time with my family since we haven't seen them since Christmas. But now we might have to leave early due to the impending winter storm. Disappointed in that.
But part of me is excited to get snowed in tomorrow and finish painting the nursery.
mlbrooks, what system/brand did you end up buying? I went w/ the Chicco mostly due to the top ratings for the carrier/base. The strollers that usually come w/ the travel systems are HUGE, heavy, bulky, and overall way too much of a pain in the ass. My vagina almost collapsed when I carted the Chicco stroller up our steps to the baby's room. I've looked into the Graco Fast Action system that @ajzmommy was considering and that honestly seems like the best stroller if you are going to purchase a travel system.
I have about 5 different wraps/carriers so I will probably wear my baby for her first few months. We are such a busy/on the go family that I refuse to be bogged down by a 50pound dinosaur of a stroller. I'll probably purchase a McClaren style umbrella stroller once there is a need.
We got the Graco FastAction Sport system as well. It seemed like the best system and overall the lightest and most versatile. And we played with it a bunch in the store and it didn't seem to bully. I even carried it to make sure I could lift it up etc.

I have 8% left for probing. Meaning, when my iPad dies, I suppose I will get up and tackle my cleaning projects since DH and DD are out of the house for a few hours.
Raisin Bran Crunch here, I haven't had it in years! The last cereal we bought was cinnamon toast crunch, which I love but it gets soggy so fast! The raisin bran crunch stays crunchy and is a little sweet. I may have another bowl
I eat Cheerios to feel good about myself, and ignore the fact that I sprinkle sugar on top. Never happens.

Contimplating getting out of bed to make some scones for breakfast, though now I want donuts from all the earlier talk going on, but once again my left hip is absolutely KILLING me. Do I honestly have 3 more months left of this? I feel like I'm 80.
DD thought it would be fun to wake up at 5 after she'd been on my nipples for a few hours and I removed her because I wasn't sleeping, she's not allowed up until 7 and threw a fit until about 6:15 then passed back out for two hours. Ugh. Between peeing a few times a night, numb arms, a kid who doesn't sleep and generally getting to big to be comfortable, add me to the sleep deprived list
I'm so challenged, I somehow got signed out and couldn't figure out my password. I just now got to sign back on after a few days! I need to get it together.
My husband is out of town for a conference (Thurs-Sun) so I got a baby sitter this morning- went to Zumba, Target, then Starbucks. I seriously feel like a new woman after 2 hours of "me time".
I let DH sleep in bed with me last night but then his snoring annoyed me so much I moved onto the twin bed in the baby's room...It's actually super comfy for my back/hips! I may need to sleep in here more often!
I have a mani/pedi at 10am today! I'm excited! I haven't had either done since March for my wedding (I do my own usually).
yay for mani/pedis! DH and I have been sleeping in separate beds most nights for a while now...at first I felt really weird about it but we both sleep a million times better!
I got asked by two strangers today when I'm due. First time a stranger has said anything to me and I was stupid excited
DH is the king of saying stupid shit that he has no idea he shouldn't. When we went to the car dealership the first thing the sales guy said was "Congratulations! Are you having a boy or a girl?". Afterwards he said "I just cannot believe that that guy said that to you! That's so ballsy. I would never say anything to a woman like that." I told him I was surprised that he knew the proper etiquette.
I cried myself to sleep last night and I am wondering if that's pregnancy hormones or normal emotions. DS had his last day at daycare yesterday and starts preschool on Monday. Saying goodbye was tough for me. One of the daycare workers gave me a gift of a framed photo of my son in a little graduation gown and I cried and cried all night every time I looked at it. I am happy he is growing up but I never imagined it would be so dang hard. I am hoping it's the pregnancy hormones.
I'm sure it's a milestone thing. I remember crying myself to sleep when DD turned 1 and she wasn't a "baby" anymore! (hugs) to you! It's exciting but sad when LOs grow up so fast!
I'm in a crappy mood today, with about zero patience. I've been sleeping horribly since Tuesday night since DD has been sick. Now I'm sick too, and DH is in a really crazy-busy time right now at work so he is gone all the time and not much help. Between being pregnant, sick, and already sleep deprived I feel like complete crap. Everything hurts: my throat, head, hips... Urg! whiny complaint over
I'm so pissed at myself. I was eyeing a baby blanket on Pottery Barn and finally decided to just buy it today. Well it's no longer on sale and I can't justify spending $39 on a blanket he doesn't even need (I already made him 3, bought 3 swaddle blankets, and have receiving blankets from DD). It is so cute though.
That sucks I make that same mistake so many times, I should learn to just buy a great deal when I see it!

I am in love with the love tits "Throws glitter" makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
My grandma called me last weekend and asked if there was anything I needed for my apartment because her friend's mom is being moved to a nursing home and they were trying to get rid of the stuff in her house. I said i could use a nightstand/end table for in the nursery next to the rocking chair. I found one on craigslist I really liked but I passed it up because she said she would grab one for me. Well, they gave the nightstands away as a set with the bed, which i understand but now the one i liked on craigslist is gone! ugh. i guess the salvation army is my next stop today.
My mother told us my dad's flight landed at 10:50, it doesn't land until 11:50. We've been waiting for him in the cell phone lot for an hour. It's the worst.

My MIL just sent me an email (after having multiple emotional meltdowns via email yesterday) saying the problem between the two of us is we don't spend enough time together.
