sweetsurprise we went cold turkey to the crib (or napping on a blanket on the floor) the day of his two month appointment. He was knocked out most of the day so it didn't phase him at all. I guess he woke up and realized it wasn't so bad sleeping in his own room where mom and dad weren't being as noisy. Occasionally he will nap in the swing but I don't make a habit out of it because, well, muscle development.
Crap, I didn't realize it's that bad for muscle development. He basically only naps in the swing.
STAHP! Stop worrying, lady! You do so much for him already, and he does exercises and he's doing great. If I leave LO in the swing, he could sleep for at least four hours. And yeah, it's probably fine, but the doctor freaked me out. And we don't have PT to balance it out. So, really. Don't freak.
Quick question...anyone wearing baby face out yet? He's young but he's got good control and K'tan recommends facing out around 5+ mo...
Nope and I won't. Boba has a good article about why it's not recommended to ever forward face in a carrier. (Overstimulation for baby, not ergonomic for mom among others).
Thanks!! I appreciate the quick explanation. I don't have a problem keeping him facing in, I just was curious because I would happily give him a new vantage point if he wanted it.

I asked S's physical therapist about the ergo, and she said as long he's not facing out, he can use the ergo.. She was adamantly against him facing out, period, and she rates his head control a month ahead.

darwinfish I'm going to smack the worry out of you. You have to relax! You're going to miss the joy if you don't. Just enjoy your sweet boy. He is doing great! You've been through a lot but you have to turn off that voice in your head that is always looking for something to go wrong.
(I'm sorry if that was harsh! I just don't want you to miss anything because you're so focused on the worry!)
you may have to because relaxing isn't in my personality.
When I go to yoga, inevitably the instructor will always tell me that i appear physically unable to relax.

Are all the babies rolling back to front? I am trying not to worry nor compare but guise it is hard.
Mine isn't. He's been rolling front to back for weeks, but only it seems when he feels like it. Some days it happens the moment I put him on his tummy, others, not at all. I will say that I've noticed DS rolling from his back to his side in bed more, so maybe soon?

God, I hope not! We haven't quite mastered the stomach to back roll. Most of the time she just sits there and lifts her head for a few minutes, lets out a few farts and then cries. She has great neck control so for now that's what we are focusing on.
Omg. DH just told me the craziest office story ever. I am dying at the sheer stupid. And drama.
Here's the story: Carl is dating Anita, she announced in the office that she is pregnant and Carl is the dad. Fran hears the announcement and hides in the bathroom crying for an hour...because apparently she's also been sleeping with Carl and just found out she is also pregnant. Fran and Anita work in the same dept, Carl works in another department and my husband works in yet another department.
Apparently, the department the two women work in has now divided into factions. When their director discovered this, she lined them up in the corridor for a team meeting and told them if they can't figure out how to work cooperatively then they could leave...
My response was: WTAF? Birth control??
I mean, I'm still dumbfounded by this story.
This is bananas.
Absolutely! I was completely speechless after DH finished telling me and I think my eyes may have been slightly bugging.
ssfc2014 that was my question as well! DH was like, these people are not really very clever... victoria well, thankfully Carl has no wife (afaik)...so just the two kids then. And hopefully the ladies will stop fighting over him. He is clearly not a catch. jellykat2 you and me both. pnwlover12 I know! I hope they do. But apparently they both thought that the other one would get dumped.
I am torn between laughing at the three of them and shaking my head in disbelief at the ridiculousness.
I just finished doing my taxes, I knew we would get a refund so as soon as I got our last W-2 I was on it. I was so frusturated because they wouldn't give me the child tax credit. Then I realized that I had put LO as only living with us for 3 months when it CLEARLY states "list child as whole year if they were born and lived with you in 2014". Crisis adverted, taxes turned in, anxiously awaiting refund.
No paycheck for 8 weeks was a real bitch to deal with.

Today is one of those days where I really hate DH's work schedule (1pm-11pm on weekends). I just feel really lonely, especially since Noah is having a fussy day. Pity Party...table for 1.

Nope. DD only just did front to back for the first time today. She's close to back to front but no dice.

Mine isn't. He's almost there though.
I feel like such an idiot right now. I was sent to pick up Book of Life from target because they had it for $10 and I accidentally grabbed Boxtrolls. We already have Boxtrolls so now bf is headed back to target 20 minutes away to return it and get Book of Life.

Dd is not rolling yet. I often have to remind myself dd was born at the end of the month so she is usually a couple weeks behind most the babes new discoveries and abilities.

MH has a similar schedule -- it can definitely be rough. Any chance you can get out of the house for a little bit? Take him for a walk or to get some coffee? I feel like little easy outings are good for both of us on days like that. ::hugs::
Lo doesn't roll back to front yet. His head is a damn anchor.
I braved Walmart earlier. They were almost out of King cakes. I snag two of the last ones. Checked out and as I was walking out I was like why was I charged over $100. For whatever reason the cakes rang up over $30 each instead of $7
So got that sorted out but the one thing they were out of that I actually need is my bc. It won't be in until Tuesday. I do not want a 2015 baby. Please pray for me.
About to head to a super bowl party. This is the first time my friends from my former bar fly days will meet lo. Should be interesting!

Thanks. We're getting ready to go to church which should help. I feel like I can handle it well on Saturday, but Sunday's seem tougher.

My kid still won't roll at all at 16 weeks. I'm not worried, she's very active and has great head control. She pretty much refuses to put her head down when she's on her tummy.

Forget who said what.... C is rolling from front to back and back to her sides (when she feels like it), but seems to have no interest in rolling to her front. Fine by me. For baby wearing, C faces inward when I am walking, but if I am sitting (restaurant), then I will turn her around as she likes to look around.
MrsTinMKE When you transitioned your LO was there a lot of crying?
Sorry just saw this. Yes when we first started. There were nights we tried it and I would let her fall asleep on me then I would lay her down. I had to keep both hands on her abdomen and kind of rock her or pat her bottom, she would fall asleep and 5 minutes later wake up crying. Its trial and error. When we started on Friday again I just told myself she is going to have to go to sleep at some point. If it didnt work out I could put her back in the RNP, but I had to at least continue to try. The last two nights I laid her down sleepy and she put herself to sleep. She fusses a little but didn't really cry. We kind of let her fuss for about 5-10 minutes and she eventually falls asleep.

Not even joking this exact thing happened at my mom's work years ago except that "Carl's" wife also got pregnant at the same time... needless to say, he had 3 kids and no wife 9 months later.
