Just went for a third scan today. Sweet angel doesn't have a heartbeat now, and has stopped growing. This is my second loss in 9 weeks. And I'm in shock. I can't believe that my 14 month old exists and is so healthy thinking of how difficult pregnancy is. I'm going to have a d&c this week. If anyone has had one, id love to pick your brain. I'm terrified.

I am so, so sorry for your loss. RPL is a really horrible club to join, though many wonderful women are there.
You may not be ready to think about this yet, but have you considered recurrent pregnancy loss testing? I began the RPL testing after my second loss following DD1, which is a similar place to where you are now. I fully credit working with an RE using the TLC method to treat RPL for DD2's existence today.

What are the acronyms?
I asked for the tissue to be sent off for testing. Is that the same thing?

Sorry for not elaborating. RPL is recurrent pregnancy loss. Some doctors/insurance consider RPL to be 3 losses, but many consider it to be two (including my OB, RE, and insurance). This blog has the best list I've seen on what should be done during RPL testing. I think CAL does or at least used to have a list also.
The TLC approach is best described in the book Coming to Term, which is one of the most encouraging things I read about RPL during my journey. I highly recommend it. I found this brief description of it "TLC was defined as psychological support with weekly medical and ultrasonographic examinations and instructions to avoid heavy work, travel, and sexual activity. The difference in live births was significant: 36% in the control group and 85% in the TLC group." (source). Most studies on the TLC approach are done with unexplained RPL, where the RPL panel doesn't turn up anything obvious like a clotting disorder. Basically it's providing a lot of extra support and reassurance.
Oh no. I'm heartbroken for you, Pax. I hate that this post had to be made. Please treat yourself kindly and pass my condolences to your husband as well. *squeezes*

This is fantastic advice. Thank you. I'll pass it along to my husband too.
Me (30) MH (32) Dx: MFI (low all the things) M. 10/11. TTC Since 01/14 IUI#1-3(Letrozole + Trigger) = BFN Second Opinion. Changed RE's. IVF 09/15 Long Lupron 12R/9M/8F, Transferred 1=BFN. 4 frosties. FET #1 12/15 Transferred 1 (3 still on ice)
I am so so sorry. RPL is so hard and if they will do testing after two (mine wont until three consecutive) I highly suggest getting it done as PP said. Please be easy on yourself.

I'm so sorry for your loss thepax89. So many ((hugs)) sweetie. I'm also unfortunately part of the RPL club, although I miscarried naturally both times not needing a D&C. My insurance covers the RPL panel after two consecutive losses so I was able to get it done & I also echo PPs in trying to see if you can get the testing done. Please take it easy and take care of yourself.
Oh pax, I am so, so sorry for your loss. You and your H will be in my thoughts.
I had a D&C after my MMC and it was a total breeze. It was emotional, but the procedure itself was NBD and my recovery was quick and painless. Please don't hesitate to tag or PM me with any questions you may have.

thepax89, I am so so sorry for your loss. That sucks so much. I had a d&c this summer after my loss. The emotional part leading up to it was bad, but after I did feel some weird feeling of relief. I did have some pain after. If you'd like to talk more, feel free to PM me.
