Lots of Tula envy over here!!!
I took the dog for a walk today with DD in my old Ergo. I don't have an infant insert but I did the receiving blanket rolled up trick and it worked like a charm. She cuddled right in and slept the whole time. I also used it shopping this afternoon. I actually think she preferred it to the SollyBaby. I can't put her in that unless she is asleep. If I put her in awake she fusses.
My ergo is camel colored and so I think I'm going to dye it a dark gray to make it a bit more attractive. I love the Tula prints but in reading some of the comparisons I like that the Ergo has a bigger storage pocket so I am going to stick with it for now until and unless I just can't hold out anymore!!!
Anyone interested In anything Tula should ask to join the group "Tula in the know" on FB. They are celebrating their 1yr anniversary this weekend and giving away a lot of stuff to members via raffle! Maybe you'll get your Tula for free!!
Also Solly Baby is releasing their spring collection next week! Super excited for this as I have the charcoal dot print and really want something bright for spring!! I think the 7th? Not 100% sure about that but check it out!!
She's an enabler. If she had the money she's buy me alllll the slings.
I feel you. My mom would buy one of every outfit in every size for both of my kids if she could afford it. Plus ALL the toys. She likes to spoil them. Luckily, she's mostly broke, and perfectly willing to keep all of the toys at her house
Has anyone ever been to a baby wearing meeting? I am thinking of going to a local baby wearing international meeting and I am just curious as to what happens at these things

I haven't but Iam hoping to go to one this weekend. I am mainly hoping to try some other carriers like a ring sling. Not to mention meet some other moms.

I went to one last week! They spent the first half demonstrating how to use the four main types of carriers they have (mei teis, ring slings, wovens, and sscs), including how to breast or bottle feed in them. During the second half of the meeting people could try on carriers from the BWI lending library or get help with their own carriers (I did both). One tip - people made a dash for the carriers they wanted when the try on portion of the meeting started (at least at the meeting I went to), so if you have your eye on something I would try that on first. If you become a member ($30/year), then you can borrow carriers from the lending library, it's a pretty good deal really. I didn't join, but I did like the lillebaby that I tried on and ended up buying one.

Sparkly - What kind of fabric do you recommend for a ring sling newb to use for warm spring and summer weather? I was just checking out the Sakura bloom site and am overwhelmed by options. Other brand recs, or links to specific slings also welcome! TIA.

Thanks so much - this is good to know !! I have no idea what I will like so I may just sit back and watch the entire demonstration. Was it a BWI of Central MD event? I am going to the Ellicott City meeting next Tuesday.

Also, in regard to ring slings - I feel like I am having a hard time getting a good seat for her. It's like she either has a good seat but the fabric is bunched up under her knees causing pressure points, or the bottom rail is smooth under her knees but she's in the sling very shallowly. I watched some videos about pulling the fabric up between her legs until it's to her bellybutton, but I'm like... How??! Any tips or good online videos anyone?

I try and push the knees up above the bum also and pull the fabric from the inside. I just shove my had under the but until it's high enough.
