I thought it was down because my LTE decided to crash too.
I think GKU just has gotten into a new groove in the last year and we are all use to our normal posters and things we normally talk about.
Now it's like two middle schools combining into one high school. I'm guessing that there will be growing pains to get back into a new normal. I know some of the returning grads did go through IF treatments so it will be nice to have them around to help answer questions as more of us start seeking treatment.
In the past no one has cared if someone on GKU complains about their toddler or other older child, I'm not sure we can rightly get all upset if someone happens to mention their baby. (And in her defense, she really only said she wanted to sleep later. We are all assuming it's because of a baby)
I am in the boat of being lapped by some of the returning grads so in my heart it makes me sad, but I don't want GKU to be all about my IF and loss.
So basically, I'm Switzerland. I like having lots of new posters.
I don't want GKU I to be about my losses either. And grads should be able to mention their children and people should be able to say if a post rubbed them the wrong way.
I think the change in how complaining is taken is a by product of our decreased population.
Over on TB, we were always getting flesh blood. Those new posters replaced regs who graduated and allowed the board population to more closely reflect that of society at large.
Here, as our population has dwindled due to regs graduating, we've gotten less newbies to replace them. This in turn has increased the relative proportion of regs who are facing TTTC and IF. So, things that didn't bother the majority over on TB may bother a larger proportion here solely because the demographics of our population have changed.
I'm not sure the best way to handle it, but I do think it's important to acknowledge that we do have a large TTTC/IF population that frequent GKU.

We had to get a new fridge about a year ago. I told H to get the biggest one that fit in our space and let him take care of it. Our fridge is huge but I like the extra space so it doesn't feel jam packed. The old one died so H and his brother bought and replaced it one day while I was at work.
FFSC: I have no interest to go appliance shopping. All I wanted was a working ice maker.
I can appreciate that some people are upset by posts about children, and i dont want to hurt peoples feelings either. If GKU becomes a "no children posts" zone, then what are the TFAS moms expected to go? Are we expected to remove all mentions of children from our signatures, and sanitize all of our posts on GKU?
Please to understand. I will break it down as slow as I can for you: we know people have children. We know that kids get sick, have good days and does things parents generally want to share. We don't want it to be a no child zone. We want posters to use a littttttle bit of tact when posting because the group is diverse.
I am honestly trying to figure out what sort of posts are going to go over like a lead balloon, there is no need to speak down to me.
We used our free Chipotle coupons for lunch today. I only ate half of my burrito bowl but still, I am so full. I don't think I'll eat much for dinner. Maybe just some wine...
Has anyone bought a fridge recently? Why is counter depth some much more expensive?
because it's a new size. Specialty size, basically. It wasn't worth the extra expense for us. It doesn't bother me that my fridge sticks out further (farther?) than my cabinets.
It makes me crazy. Like, here's a smaller fridge but we're going to charge you $1,000 more. No thanks, I'll have a giant fridge and actually be able to afford to put food in it

We need a new one because chunks of the Teflon coating from the ice maker were flaking off into the ice. I'll spare you a picture but it was terrifying

H bought a chainsaw today, he's out cutting down trees and doesn't seem to totally know what he's doing so not sure if I'm turned on or terrified
I love this. please let me know how he feels about home made sea salt for reasons...
Lol. I kept telling him that the house smelled like gasoline and he's like oh that's weird. I just walked into garage where he was pouring gas into it but spilling everywhere, what the hell?! I may die.
