I found out one of my favorite moms from my mommy/baby group with DD is due four days before I am. I don't see her a ton because we work opposite schedules, but I'm excited to possibly hang out while we are on maternity leave!
I'm going to have to make all new mommy friends when I move. It is a little stressful because I also have to find social groups for the kids at the same time. DS1 is worried he will be friendless for the rest of his life. Lol, I doubt that is even possible. He is such a social butterfly. He never meets a stranger.
Have any STM+ had a baby with milk/soy protein intolerance? DS had this and for the first 6 weeks we couldn't figure out the problem (terrible gas, reflux, and lime green slimy poos). Once I eliminated all dairy and soy from my diet and my breastmilk was clear of the proteins, all his issues cleared up.
I am trying to figure out whether my second baby is likely to have the same intolerance. If it's likely, I might eliminate dairy and soy towards the end of my pregnancy to save the trial/error period this time.
My friends first had it, and her second does not. The twos personalities and levels of fussiness are like night and day too, her new baby is so well behaved where her first cried non stop for four months.
Our life group rescheduled for tonight. Then we found out a group that went to Africa is sharing about their time tonight in the place we use the church. So we are joining them instead. It's potluck. I decided to bring pasta salad....because I crave it often. I made some and now am "taste testing" it before tonight. Yummy. So yummy.

Mmmm... craving pasta salad here too. What kind did you make? Do you have a recipe (or method) to share? 😊

I use the classic Suddenly Salad. I add broccoli, grape tomatoes, cheese, carrots, and olives. My SIL adds pepperoni to hers, but I leave it out of mine.

Yum. Going to have to make some this week. Great way to get in some veg. Thanks!
It's one of those days that I'm counting down to nap time and DD just woke up. She didn't nap yesterday and then last night she was up late. I think she has cried most of the 30 min she has been awake.

I'm in Philly all week for a course to finish a certification. Dd and dh tagged along. I'm super anxious to see how they do...and I hope they're both in good moods in the evening because I'm not going to have the patience to deal with them if not.

Ugh, I did this yesterday. DS was a whiny mess and MH had a fever so I was sole-parenting. I hate it when I find myself wishing away one of my two days at home with my kid!

Thank you to everyone for your comments on MSPI! Sounds like experiences and anecdotes are mixed. I am going to run it past my OB and see if he would have any issue with me cutting dairy and soy starting at 36 weeks. I would rather be safe than sorry, but at the same time I know that's when the baby will be putting on weight and fat, so I don't want to nutritionally deprive him.....
Edit tho change "them" to "him" because I forgot that I know I am having a boy

Team Green will miss you, but congratulations on being team pink!
I'm debating being Team Green. I'm not changing the nursery, or getting any new infant clothes, so it might be fun. I've had mixed reactions from friends that waited.

I will be your mommy friend!
I was hoping we would get together when I move down there. It will be nice to have a friend in a new city.
I have been thinking I was feeling a flutter or two but I haven't been completely sure until this morning. I was doing "morning basket" with the kids at breakfast and I felt the unmistakeable flutter. I'm so excited that I finally felt something! It's hard to tell this early when you usually have a toddler rolling all over you all day long.
I have also barely been still the last week. I have been so busy cleaning stuff out. I think I may be nesting early since we have the move coming up. I took TONS of stuff to Goodwill yesterday and it felt so good. My H thinks I'm going overboard but I refuse to haul a bunch of junk across the country just to have it clutter up my next house.

leviosa, - I need to make some mommy friends too. It's so hard to find time though. I'm actually hoping to enroll DS in a gymnastics class (a 1x/week tot class) while I'm on maternity leave. This way I can hopefully meet some people that way.

Right now I have tons of mommy friends but they are all resident wives and from my MOPs group from church. I will likely put DD in ballet and tap again. She loves dance. I may do some kind of class for DS2. I have no idea what though.

Sorry if this has been brought up, but does anyone have/had experience with a anterior placenta? I have one this time and it's freaking me out. I think I'm feeling some movement, but it's not enough to ease my mind. For any who did, when did you start feeling distinct movement?

My poor dog has an ear infection. I was going to drop him off at the vet later today and then pick him up but I noticed he is not acting right and I went to pick him up and he felt like he has a fever. He also cried when I tried to look at his ear. So now, I'm taking him in with all 3 kids when no one has had a nap. I hope we get out alive. That place echoes really bad so if anyone starts screaming it isn't going to be good.

I have never had an anterior placenta but there were a few ladies talking about having an anterior placenta and they were beginning to feel movement around 16 weeks.

I have one this time around, too.
One of my friends had one with her most recent baby, and she says she started feeling movement right around the same time as her first, and that she didn't notice any difference in the movement she felt between the two pregnancies for the rest of the time. That made me feel a little more optimistic!

I'm 17+2 and think I'm feeling movement, but am not sure, which is what is driving me insane and making my pgal Brain go crazy! With dd I think I was feeling movement at this point on a normal basis.

It's pretty common to have delayed movement sensation with an anterior placenta. Although, the delay is more pronounced in FTMs since the uterus hasn't been stretched out before. So you could still feel movement around the usual time frame. Otherwise, it's not uncommon to not feel any movement until 20+ weeks, sometimes even 24+.
I have an anterior placenta and haven't felt a goddamn thing yet.

laurenash323 I don't have an anterior placenta and am also not feeling strong movement yet (17+2). It's like a little goldfish hitting the inside of a fishbowl. But only once or twice a day, and not hard enough that I am sure. As soon as it happens I stop everything (including breathing) and wait for it to happen again. It never does.
I can't remember whether I felt stronger movement at this point with DS. I think it was closer to 20weeks.

DS decided not to nap today. I still left him in his crib to rest and so I could get a break. He apparently decided he wanted to try to make himself throw up because I hear him gagging and come in to see him with his fingers down his throat... wtf kid? Thankfully he didn't actually vomit but still- how does that seem like fun or a good idea?? Toddlers...
My DS did this for a while to get attention. Once he actually made himself throw up. These kids are insane, I tell you.

I have one this time which explains why baby's heartbeat is hard to find. But man I want movement like yesterday.
