My result for my one hour glucose screen was borderline (135), so they want me to watch my carbs. I'm stressing about the possibility of GD and the fact that I still have a huge aversion to most meat, so I don't know what to eat.
@wicky, I found the time between about 16-20 months much more challenging than two (so far). She's much more verbal now, and is able to listen at least a little bit.
Some docs just seem to think that any big baby is due to GD. Some are just big babies!
I got so mad at my last appointment because the MFM said to the US tech, "this is going to. E a big baby" and kind of shook his head. I was so infuriated. I work so hard during pregnancy. My first was 8lb 2iz at 39.5 weeks, which I think is great for having pregestational diabetes. Now I'm just obsessed with keeping everything so low. I just want to prove him wrong.
On a side note, I remember talking to an aunt at my baby shower about the glucose test. She was floored that I didn't have to do it. She thought I of all people should get it done. I was like, "well, I'd automatically fail it and they already know I have diabetes, so..."

salmon2017, - I'm planning to get a side-by-side double jogger. I do a lot of running on bike paths and trails so I think this will be my best option. I have a friend with one so I've gotten to try it out. It is huge though. Definitely won't fit through most doorways but it would be good for things like the zoo & the fair where there is plenty of room.
She also has a sit & stand. It's slimmer & easier to navigate but the wheels make it hard to push on the uneven sidewalks around here. I think they all have pros & cons so it just depends where you would be using it.

DS turns 2 today! How does that even happen. He looks so huge now
Happy Birthday to your DS! Let us know how you plan to celebrate . . . . my DS will be 2 in June and I am looking for inspiration
He loves hotdogs so tonight DH and I are taking him to the local hot dog shop for dinner & icecream. We got him a train table for his birthday so we're going to let him pick out some new trains for it too. We're having close family over on Sunday afternoon for cake and icecream but that's about it. I'm sure once he's a little older & has more friends his age we will do something a little bigger but for now we're just keeping it simple .
We also have DH's birthday, Easter at our house, and SS's birthday within the next few weeks so I wasn't crazy about hosting a big party.
All I want is grapefruit and grapefruit juice...but it keeps giving me heartburn. Silly babies...can't you crave something that doesn't hurt mama?!
I need to figure out strollers but they completely overwhelm me! I'm going to a consignment sale next week and I hope I can just see a bunch of different ones to start to get an idea of what we need.

I'm a vegetarian (have been for 20 years), so I can give you some suggestions. I just made a WONDERFUL tofu mole sauce this week for the first time (it was in a cookbook, so I can scan the recipe if you are interested). We also do a ton of bean dishes, I'm partial to veggie chili--here is my favorite: www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Spicy-Two-Bean-Vegetarian-Chili-107274?mbid=ipapp. We also do a lot of squash--spaghetti squash with lentils is super easy and filling....And anything over quiona, which has extra protein is good. I could go on. Let me know and I can put up more recipes that are meat free.

wannabmama I craved grapefruit with my last pregnancy. This time it's lemons and tomatoes. ALL THE ACID.
I ate 7 clementines one day in first tri and then had to go google to make sure I wasn't going to OD on citrus, ha.
I've only had heartburn like once in my life before getting pregnant and MH gets it all the time...he was laughing at me when I was moaning that I was dying after chugging grapefruit juice the other day.
I guess if my worst craving is fruit it could be worse, but I do worry it's getting my sugars out of whack!

wannabmama, try not to stress it. Just eat what you like and can eat and aim for mostly healthy. That's the most you can do when tiny human steal your food feelings.

I'm struggling with what double stroller to buy too. All I had for DS was a BOB jogging stroller. Thinking about a sit and stand. Anyone have a recommendation for one?

This sounds like an awesome day for him! We don't have much family around and DS doesn't really have "friends" yet - and not many of our friends have kids..... so I think whatever we do will just be the three of us.
