Of course it is running and locked and I only do it when I know I will be literally a minute but it feels so "against the rules" these days although it was the norm growing up
I get to leave work at 3pm today... I told MIL that I might get to leave early but if my day today was anything like yesterday it might not happen... I might leave at 3 and go have some me time because i haven't had it in a while.

Like where at? Have done in my driveway/garage (open of course) while she's sleeping and I need to grab something from inside the house, but never at a public place.

UPS with a prepaid label where you drop it in a box a leave
Picking up DD from camp and she is lined up at the door and I walk up and get her. I can see the car the whole time and it is 60 seconds, I feel no worry

Eh, not flame worthy to me. I'll sit on your bench:)
A man I know his four kids were in his car along with paint in the trunk, he stopped off home to get something. Left the kids in the car and it exploded while he was in the house.
You need a trigger warning on that... Horrifying, but also I think that's a situation where most people WOULD leave their kids in the car for a minute (at home). That's a terrible freak accident and not the typical thing people fear when leaving their kids in the car (abduction etc)
I have never dyed my hair. I have not a small amount of gray. I got gray paint in my hair yesterday and didn't realize until this morning because it pretty much blended in. Oops.

One of my friends has a large amount of gray and people ask her where she "got it done" all the time, because it's trendy now
Today I put H in her bathing suit with no diaper to run around the yard while it was raining. She wanted to climb in DH's car before he left for work, so I let her. She totally peed on one of the seats and I didn't feel like getting the fabric cleaner from inside, so I waited till after he left then texted him "btw H peed in your car, you might want to grab a can of cleaner and spray it out." He was not amused.

+whatever would not leave LO in the car if I'm walking away from the car in public and going inside a building, I think that's hugely different from popping out to drop mail in the box. If I strap her in at home and realize I left my cell phone inside or whatever, she's coming back in with me.. because other people live in my building and I cant see the car from the door. Although at my parents house where the driveway is private and completely visible, I've run in the house to grab something real quick.
My kid slept in the garage in her stroller for over an hour last week. I was upstairs in the kitchen, and had the door open so I could hear when she woke up, but still feels sort of weird to admit.
I've left her only in front of our house and I've just dropped the groceries off inside the front door. I keep her door open and I can see her the entire time. I wouldn't leave her if I had to go inside somewhere. Hell, I even take her along when I return the shopping cart.

erbear I remember the first time I did groceries by myself with LO and after packing everything into the car, including her, realized I still had to return the cart. And yea, I unstrapped her and took her with me. I try to park right next to the cart return so I can just pop it over.
I leave the kids in the car allll the time while its running in the driveway. I go in to use the bathroom, pack a bag for the lake, change over laundry, put away groceries, you name it. A lot of times DS asks to stay in the car because he likes to listen to the music. He's strapped in and can't get out on his own, so what's the big deal? Our house is set back from the road, no one can see our driveway/garage area (except our neighbor who shares our drive and whom we know pretty well).
Some mornings LO is begging and whining to be outside and so I strap him in his stroller on the front walk and continue getting ready inside while he chills out there watching the birds and squirrels.

How far away was the cart corral? I...return mine all the time once the kids are strapped in.

I still make my ten and eight year olds come out with me if I'm getting gas, or whatever else. Even for a few minutes. I try to pay at the pump whenever I can. I think if you are in sight of the vehicle the whole time, and it's quick, it's a bit different. I'll confess I've used The Wiggles far too much this week to entertain LO. H is constantly working and I'm getting burnt out. Second part is that I actually Love the Wiggles, and have a small crush on Anthony. No shame.

More than a few spots over and a couple rows down. Although I do the same of its anywhere but right next to me. I don't trust people and just feel better that I she's always in my line of sight.
michyme123, that happened here too, the baby was gone for about four hours. They left her in her bucket seat on the front doorstep of a farmhouse. Thank goodness someone saw her right away.
