meagpt22 Merlin suit update: he got a couple of 3 hour stretches last night and napped well today. I still need to get him to sleep first, but then the suit helps him stay asleep...not necessarily longer than if I was holding him, but at least by himself. When his Moro reflex kicks in, his arms still do go up, but he stays asleep. So far so good!
That's good that it's moving in the right direction!
For the love of God someone help me. DS has been so fussy freaking out with stomach aches all week. He's 14 weeks and we had been completely over the fussy stage and now all of a sudden something is bothering his tummy and I don't know what. He keeps freaking and screaming and won't sit still, doesn't like any position I hold him, refuses to bend at the waist, throws head back and arches. He'll eat, burp, and then 30 minutes later be all agitated and i pick him up and he burp pukes. Every time, every meal. And that still doesn't settle him down.
He is EBF (pump for daycare). I'm still dairy free. He's still on zantac. He's still on gas drops every meal. Poops are still regular and daily. Gripe water not helping. Wtf else can I do?? I am almost in tears sometimes when he's losing it and I just can't help it go away.
The next likely culprit after dairy is soy. Could also be wheat. Does he have any rash or eczema?

My home office is in our guest room. We have room for me to have my own office but Moved into the guest room to have my own bathroom and water.
BIL and his family are coming to town today. I'm fine giving up my office for Monday (I'm working but they're here to Tuesday) but H was very adverse to moving my desk out. The thing is, there isn't enough room for them and their kids who sleep with them with it in it. So I told H let's just skip the fight, it's the right thing to do, and he just needs to do it.

I'm soooo tired. DH has this huge four day event, today is day 3. He's working 16 hour days, so I'm doing 99% of the parenting on my own, including bed time and night time wake ups. I've also been going down to the event for a couple hours each day, which means hauling both girls there, wearing one and pushing the other since the double stroller doesn't fit in my car and I have to park about one mile away. Tomorrow is the last day and I can't wait for it to be over. It has-been fun to go hang out at though and there are tons of vendors (like 200+) with cool stuff. And it's on the water, right across from the beach so it's a beautiful location. But with everything that's going on I'm kinda MOTY. DD1 is surviving on cheese its, chicken nuggets and hot dogs, my house is a mess and I've been living off fast food. Looking forward to some normalcy when this is all over.

Any chance it is just overtiredness/4 Month sleep regression/Wonder Week 19? At that age DD1 would just completely lose it for hours on end. It was because she was extremely overtired and sensitive to developmental leaps. She seemed almost in pain. So sorry.

omg omg omg you guys! OMG. In desperation, I bought a swing. E is napping peacefully in it right now. I seriously don't care if I'm supposed to be trying to get him to nap in his crib. If he will sleep in this miracle contraption, it will make my life a thousand times better during the week. I'm in survival mode now, I'll worry about the transition to crib napping later. THANK GOODNESS OMG. Can you tell? I am excited.

I realized perhaps why DD isn't eating enough. I only feed her from one side. In the beginning I was so full so I would only offer one side and then it just didn't occur to offer both. She has been chowing down on both sides all day at every feed.

I'm a big fan of sleep is sleep. DD never napped in her crib until 18 months and we all survived. It was actually nice to not plan a day around naps since I planned my day around bedtime. So if the swing works great!
hannahbear yay! R won't sleep in swing or bouncy chair...glad other babies are having more luck with these things!
M slept in swing for first time today. I kept trying to get him to nap away from his sister. Only one I needed to put groceries away I put him in the swing. He fell asleep while his sister was full volume singing right in front of swing!
Hi all! I miss checking in here. Moving with a 2yo and 2 month old is no.freaking.joke. Even with movers I feel like I'm just surfacing for air. Holy moly. Hope all is well and lots of sleep is being had.
Sorry I've been MIA, life has been crazy, this is what's happening:
1) MH got laid off right before I had DD. 2) parents visit us and convince us to move with them to Tennessee. We do the math and it's the best option for us. 3) Packing my house like a mad woman the past few weeks plus selling my house (it's finally in escrow!) 4) resigned from my job 5) looking for a new job in Tennessee 6) oh and I leave tomorrow to Tennessee with DD and my dog. We're taking two days, spending the night in Virginia and I'm praying she just sleeps three hour stretches. She STTN but hardly sleeps during the day unless you hold her.
I miss you guys, please tell me Tennessee is awesome and moving from the northeast to the southeast will be okay!
Hi! We JUST moved from TN a week ago and I was terribly depressed to move from Nashville. If you are anywhere near middle TN and need reasons to love the area let me know:)

My kid thinks her crib is a play room. I, too, worry about crib transition later but we'll deal with it when she's older. Now? Sleep. Wherever and however.

Same here. They sleep well in their cribs at night. During the day, they nap wherever I manage to put them down... swing, bouncy chair, carrier, doesn't matter. We are trying to decrease the amount they sleep in our arms simply so we don't spend the whole day in nap jail. But as long as they sleep, I'm a happy camper.
Ugh sleep has been real rough the last week. Little C has been getting up all night long like she did as a newborn. She's 14 weeks & started daycare when she was 12.5 weeks. The first few days went great, she was so exhausted she STTN & I felt amazing. But this last week? So so hard. I've finally decided that I think the issue is she is way way overtired and not getting enough sleep. So I'm trying to fix that now & crossing my fingers she sleeps better soon. Mama is very tired over here with all the MOTN wakeups. She has been waking up for 2 reasons: hunger (we feed her a lot before bed) or gas. She has been extra squirmy & fussy MOTN and she will eventually have gas.

spicysalmonroll I've got no ideas, but that sounds miserable! I hope you can find a problem & solution soon!!
hannahbear Yay! That's awesome that you found a solution!
@shehulk Oof, I hate weeks like that! I'm glad yours is about over & you can get back to normal!
In very surprising news, my SIL announced she's pregnant with her 3rd baby this week. Baby is due right at 40 weeks after mine was born, so I'm crediting my baby for inspiring a new niece or nephew.

My H has never been much of a drinker, and he can even be judgey of those who do. I'm different, because I've always enjoyed a glass of wine in the evening or while cooking dinner. Lately he'll open a beer at night, and even offers me some wine. I guess 2 kids = drinks!! 😉

Has anyone else still not been able to have sex? We've tried a few times but ended up stopping because it was painful. I had a c-section so I'm surprised but it just feels very tight. And now since it's gone badly each time we've tried, I get anxious and tense up which makes it even worse.
H is really sweet about it but physical intimacy is his love language and I can tell he is feeling neglected. I feel bad about it.

I want to stop breastfeeding. DD is 10 and 1/2 weeks old. Please everyone talk to me about this if you've stopped and how you're feeling about it. And how you respond to well meaning fellow moms telling you absurd things about the detriments of formula :-(

bocaburger we haven't had sex yet either. I seriously only recently stopped spotting and im starting to feel more normal (9 weeks pp). There have only been a few times where it was a possibility and I was just so exhausted. I'm hoping we get there soon...
