Last night was rough. We attempted not to swaddle G because she rolled onto her belly while swaddled yesterday. She went down around 10, woke up at 11, and refused to sleep until almost 4am. Thankfully H took most of that shift so I got some sleep but I feel terrible for him. Around 4am he put her in the swaddle and she fell asleep. So our new plan is to swaddle but not let her fuss at all until the Merlin sleep suit arrives.
I am so sick. Not the cold that I mentioned before - food poisoning. I was up puking my guts out all night. My sister was visiting and she got it too. This is so hard, I can't take care of my little one. DH had to do all of the MOTN wake ups. Thank goodness I have a partner who will do that.
Oh hun! I am so so sorry.
I've been worrying about how to take care of a baby when I'm sick. I can handle colds, fever, etc... but a stomach bug? I had one a few years ago that lasted four days. FOUR. It was brutal.
Of course my pump would decide to start dying on my first day back at work. I have a medela and it's loosing suction/sounds crazy when it goes into pumping mode. Sounds fine in key down mode. Ugh.
Also I've cried 3 times already today. It's going to be a long day
Do you want my pump? I have a PISA, brand new in August, that is collecting dust.

If you call medela customer service, they are really helpful with troubleshooting. They were even going to just send me a new pump if we didn't figure out the problem.

Ugh, that stinks! Hopefully your Merlin gets there soooon.
If the Merlin doesn't work the Zipadee Zip is a great swaddle transition and babies can safely stomach sleep in it.
R makes a sucking noise often when he's sleeping...it drives me a little crazy because then I'm not sure if he's hungry or what's going on. Do any of your babies do this? I can't find much good information from google on this.
Mine have all done this. I think it's just a reflex
meagpt22dc2london I'm surprised there aren't more hits about it when I google! I think you guys are right about it being self soothing/reflex. It drives me bonkers though because sometimes I will mistakenly think he is hungry (he STILL wants to nurse every 2-3 hours) and he will scream at me.

Thank you for the offer. I actually have a Ameda pump that I can use if it's really broken and I plan to call customer service since there is supposed to be a 1 year warranty on the pump motor.

I need to vent for a second. I know I was praising MH just a hot minute ago, but he is being SUCH A DUDE with fake symptoms. He called his aunt to see if she could help watch the baby, and said, "we're both really sick." No, no sir. You are tired, which is real. But you are not sick. I have been puking my brains out since last night. He "has a sore throat." Ok, dude.

DH has told me no less than 10 times since I got home that his throat hurts. I haven't responded once. Men and their damn colds..you'd think they were dying! I hope you only have a 24 hour bug. Feel better soon.
Hope remylove1011 and meagpt22 had good first days back to work! The exhaustion is ridiculous for a while, but you kinda get used to it? Some days are still rougher than others
DD woke up around 1:30am screaming. She is not eating as much as she normally does so I'm sure she's hungry. It was nice having her STTN for less than a week. Bottles take forever. Daycare says they normally feed her until she loses focus on it and then they bring the bottle back out a little later for her to finish. It's annoying. She's been using a preemie nipple so we're going to try to switch to level 1.
I am meeting with an estate planning law firm tomorrow to discuss possibly working with them...fingers crossed that it'd be a good fit and if so that it works out. It's actually the firm we used for our estate planning, haha.

We all had a slight cold here last week (and I was way sick the week before and had that migraine). Everyone was fine- except for DH who needed to go buy cough syrup because he was dying....
Man, I feel like I haven't checked in here in forever. Things have been crazy. We all had some viral infection. My poor DD1 had an awful fever (105.2) and we were all sick and miserable for like a week and a half. Then the day we're all feeling mostly better I got pink eye! I've never had it before and holy crap is it awful. It hurt SO bad. I had some antibiotic eye ointment that was prescribed to DD1 a while back so I put some of that on it and put breastmilk on it. And it was mostly better after about 24 hours. And I've been washing NY hands like crazy and avoiding kissing all over my girls faces and so far no one else has gotten it thank goodness. But we're finally doing better. And we've been having beautiful weather, in the 70s during the day. I can't wait to get out and enjoy it. Here's a pic of my cuties:
DH decided he wants to get the girls bunnies for Christmas. Bunnies. He's been talking about getting them bunnies for years now. I had a chinchilla for almost 10 years and when she died I was devastated and said no more pets ever.
Then he took me to look at bunnies and I'm like damn you i need them all right now.
I've had bunnies for years. I love them! We currently have a lionhead mix named Mr. Fumbles. My toddler adores him. She puts necklaces on him and calls him pretty lmbo.

So my child has now decided she just does not require sleep. She goes down for the night around 10pm and sleeps 4 hrs. Then after she wakes to eat she only sleeps another hour. What the hell? She'll fall back to sleep a bunch but wakes as soon as you try to lay her down. Wth.

Oh, so it's not just my kid?
Glad to hear I'm not alone. It's crazy! And it's not even like she's fussy she's all smiles.

After a couple weeks of endless paci pops all night, ds2 didn't wake up until 6:20 for his first (and only) one. Thank goodness. And, I had repositioned his head off the flat spot side before bed, so he slept all night on the other side!
Also, I've discovered the downside to ds1 at preschool. Endless colds. Combined with the rainy day today, I think I'll throw some soup in the crock pot.
Glad to hear I'm not alone. It's crazy! And it's not even like she's fussy she's all smiles.
ALL SMILES. Like, life is the greatest thing ever, why don't you want to get up and play, Mom?
Last night she went to bed at 8pm (because she loses her mind between 7:30pm and 8pm). She slept until 11pm and then she was quite restless until 2am, when she ate again, and restless until 6am when I gave up.

So I think I might have discovered why DS wasn't taking the bottle. I had been giving his defrosted frozen milk. Today I have pumped milk from yesterday and he drank better. Still not great, but didn't spit it out. Hopefully with more practice and using fresh milk he'll get better. I did call a LC for suggestions on how to deal with not drinking frozen milk.

Do you guys have a routine for your LOs yet? I'm getting ready to go back to work and my mom keeps asking me what's her schedule. I'm like "uh, wake her up when you're ready, change her and feed her and go from there". So in the morning we have a routine and bath time is at 8pm and I put her down for bed at 9. She STTN so we're usually the ones waking her up. I'll get up, get ready and then wake her up. So from like 8am to 8pm it's a free for all. Is that okay?
