I'm scared: LO has had a weird day of fussiness and screamed her way to a nap at 3.30. She slept on me (desperate!) until 5.30 when I tried to put her in her bassinet and she woke crying immediately. So i fed her and she went back to sleep in her bed. Happy: she's finally giving in to some such needed rest. Scared: she started the night's rest at 3.30pm - is she going to be up and ready to party for the day at 3am??
Well, she slept (with multiple wake ups) until 6.30am! But today she's still cranky as a bear and struggling to sleep. Ugh. Wonder weeks says we're in the middle of the second leap. I hope she improves after that window!
wtf happened to my baby? She can no longer nap for more than 30 minutes and won't sleep for more than 3 hours at night. It's been like this for the last 3 days/nights. I am losing my shit.
Oh girl, I know that feel. We're just coming out of that. I have it chalked up to her 8 week growth spurt and/or wonder week. She's been a holy terror at night. I cried many a motn feeding because she just wouldn't go back to sleep and it took forfuckingever to get her down to begin with. The worst of it only lasted a few days. She's been doing better the last 2 nights so hang in there mama! It'll be over soon.
My almost 3 year old has been really difficult to get to sleep the last few nights, but being able to tag team with DH made it manageable. He's out of town tonight until Sunday...and DS1 has been crying for over an hour in his room. Usually I can sweet talk him into going to bed by talking about the fun things we are doing after he sleeps and wakes up, singing to him, etc. I pulled out all the stops tonight and nothing has worked. Between that and DS2 still waking 3+ times every night...it's going to be a long one...
clbehenna Ditto. Hope it goes better for you. DH is gone through late Sunday and DS1 has been acting up. Even the baby fussed longer going down, it is like they can tell I'm terrified they'll be terrors and are responding accordingly. Off to get what sleep I can and dream of the venti starbucks run I will be making in the a.m. with the kids still in their jammies.

Sleep has been terrible over here for the last week or so. It takes forever to get her down and I honestly don't even keep track of how long the stretches are because they are rarely more than an hour and a half. I'm exhausted and so grumpy and totally taking it out on DH... But in fairness I do everything in regards to MOTN so I feel a bit justified.
DD1 was an amazing sleeper from day 1, so I'm really struggling and hoping that this is a growth spurt or something.
O got up at 130 which is normal. He started fussing at 330 but I waited about 10 minutes to see if he really woke up-nope. The same thing happened again at 430. At 530 I went in and fed him. Basically I've been denying myself sleep because he's just making a lot of sound while sleeping. Maybe 4 hour stretches are closer than I think!! This 3 hour nonsense for the last 8 weeks has been fairly exhausting.

I forgot the RnP at my parents' house yesterday, so last night we were forced to rip the bandaid off and try a whole night in the crib. DB did great! Two 4-hour stretches. He's getting so big that I Think he likes having his legs splayed out. So I guess we'll stick with it for a bit
On a totally random note, it smells like a mouse died in our walls and I keep walking around trying to pinpoint where the smell is coming from. Disgusting.
9:00-4:15 here! So exciting to see so many babies extending their sleep stretches! Hayley is a raging psychopath when she wakes up until that bottle hits her lips though...girlfriend does not enjoy being hungry!

8-230 and 3-7. And I actually went to bed at 1030 and even fell asleep right away! Glorious. Babe was still asleep at 7, but we had some nasty thunder and lightning that woke me. Then DH came home from work. Baby stirred and I encouraged him to eat. A few snacks and burps is all we really accomplished other than waking him up for the day. I should know to let him sleep until he is ready.

Wow yall, send some of those night time sleepies or way pretty please! Last night she crashed out earlier than usual at 730, which scared me for what the night might bring. She has still been mostly doing just one MOTN wake, however its super long (2ish hours). Not last night. 3 wake ups, with a feed and a fight each time Slept 7:30-11. 1-3. 4:30-5:30. 6:30-8. 8 hours in a 12.5 hour span of time.. my girl clearly has a hard time going BACK to sleep!!! Unfortunately I think she gets that from her momma.
How is it that they know when youre going to be super tired and act accordingly? Hes had a 6-8 hour stretch every night for aaages. But the 1 night we have friends over and i dont go to bed with him at 9.30 and stay up pretty late thinking it'll be ok b/c he always goes until at least 5, he wakes at 2.30. 5 hours isnt bad but still.
Lesson learned.
Oh yes, they know!! We stayed out later too, and I drank a bit too much (enough to feel crappy) and DB was up at 3 and now 5. I wasn't in bed until midnight and then DH woke me at 2 when he came to bed. On purpose. Remind me to kill him.
S slept from 10-3 and fell right to sleep in my arms after she was done. Carried her to our room, put her down in the pack n play and the dog got up and shook so his collar and tags made all kinds of noise. Guess who's eyes popped right open? Got her settled, took the dog's collar off and got in bed and now I'm wide awake. At least she's asleep, right?

Stayed up later than usual and my boobs were already killing me so I pumped around 10:30. Slept like a rock until 4am so in up pumping now and DD should be awake in an hour or so for DH to give her a bottle. I feel a lot more rested than when I was getting up at 1:00/2:00am to pump!

My dog has a mild ear infection and has been shaking his head a lot. I learned my lesson last night and tonight he's sleeping without his collar on! I hope he drops work quickly!

Oh, that's the worst! Our dog had a double ear infection a couple of months ago.
I considered getting up at 5:30 to pump but I knew LO would be up soon. Yeah, try closer to 6:30. Ouch. And I could have had more milk to freeze! I never get a chance to pump during the day.

Sleep is as bad as it's ever been. She's regressed this week and I'm a zombie. Woke 7 times overnight and two crying fits for no reason. She's 10 weeks tomorrow. Please someone tell me this is normal timing and we'll get through this. Otherwise I might need help.
First night in the crib. She's doing great, but I have been staring at the monitor all night, so I just gave up and got up to eat cereal. It's like being pregnant again. Oh, ps my dog also has an ear infection!

I'm right there with you. Also 10 weeks today. No advice, just sympathizing.

Good morning ladies,
I just wanted to check in and see how everyone has been sleeping. It looks like there are some nice long stretches happening! I miss these MOTN chats. This last week I started putting Charlotte flat in the pack n play since she's been taking naps that way at day care for the last 3 weeks. She slept all night all week. I was totally prepared for her to be up in the middle of the night until she got used to it. She seems to be on a pretty good schedule of to bed around 9:30 up to eat at 5:30am and back to sleep until 6:30-7:00 when she goes to day care. I THANK GOD every day that she is a great sleeper. I just know it might change at any point with growth spurts coming up.
I always say just when I think I'll lose it she improves and last night was a fair bit better. She's so hungry at the moment she still woke 3 times, fed for a good long time and was hard to get back down at 4.30am but we made it to 6.30am today!
Aiming for lots of naps today to try and reinforce this progress.
Good luck sugarkissed I know eventually it will improve for both of us but it's a hard road until then!!
J has been passing out around 7:30 for the past week and sleeping until 4ish, which has been awesome. Today was my first day back with students, so of course he was up past 10 and couldn't stay down more than 2 hours at a time... We will definitely be sticking to the daycare schedule in the future, even if it means no sleeping in on the weekends.
O has his 2 month appointment today and got his shots. He came home and slept for almost 4 hours unfortunately that was 445-830pm. He went back to sleep around 920 so hopefully those shots make him sleep more than 3 hour stretches especially because I can't seem to unwind to fall asleep!
Eta - update: apparently vaccines make it hard to sleep. Owen and I saw every hour starting at 1215. When I went in at 630 I took his temp and it was 99.5 so I broke out the tylenol. It makes me wonder if I had done it earlier in the night if we would have slept better. Hoping for naps galore today, Mama is tired.

We've had a nice few days of getting up for the day around 7. Made plans for 930 today and guess who was up and fussy from 5-830, then fell asleep as I was getting ready... at least our plans were flexible. And I am glad he slept - could've been a long(er) day!
