So pissed right now. Got B to sleep at 8:15- he's been sleeping until about 4 am lately, so I was looking forward to that stretch. DH and I get into bed at 10:30. DH decides to check B's diaper after I repeatedly said not to wake him. Does it anyway. DH "tries" toget B back to sleep but then realizes he is hungry since he hasn't been fed since 8pm right before I put him down. Guess who is nursing and guess who is sleeping right now?! UGH
Check a sleeping babies diaper? Oh man I feel your frustration right now
My h did something similar-ish tonight - LO was awake but not fussing at midnight and instead of getting her back to sleep, he made a huge deal over her being awake. So we change her and I nurse her - but she falls asleep within 20 minutes, which tells me she wasn't even really hungry to begin with. Sigh.
Ugh the PnP is not going well. At 12 he was crying and not going back to sleep, so I fed and changed him. Then from 1-3, he was super fussy and revving up, so I was either holding him or laying with my hand on him. Finally at 3, I had enough and pulled him into bed with me. He started crying and flailing at 5, so now I'm up feeding him again.
Not sure what to do because there is no way I can have a night like this tomorrow night and work the next day.
Sorry about your night:( maybe give it another week and try again on Friday! Then you have 2 nights in a row where you don't have to work the next day to try it out again:)
We are no longer waking up every 1-2 hrs...woo hoo! It's been three decent nights in a row. I almost don't want to talk about it in case I jinx it! The last 3 nights he's been up around 12:30, then 2:30, then 4:30 and up for the day around 6:30. I wish we could just get rid of that random 2:30 wake up where he falls asleep as soon as I pick him up...
I've been giving Owen about 10 minutes to fuss before going to get him in the MOTN. We skipped two wake ups last night bc of this. If I had gone to him we would have been up 5 times. We've been up at least 3 times for the last week. I'd like to just be up two...please. Also, I just remembered that I tried to comfort nurse last night by laying over the crib and putting my boob in his mouth. It seemed like a really good idea at 330...

Since I am an idiot and let my kid sleep in the rnp all weekend, I am setting myself up for a shitty night tonight. I am really hoping to get this all sorted before I go back to work, and it already took weeks to get her in the crib at all.

No! Tonight will be fine! Babies are so adaptable. I bet those two nights won't set you back at all. People go on vacations all the time, which changes where baby sleeps, and the kids still go back to sleeping in their cribs.

2nd night in a row with our first stretch of sleep starting off in the carseat from a carride home and just extending into bedtime.. 7PM again, and THIS time I got home, did some dishes, pumped a bottle, showed SO said bottle, told SO I was taking my ass to bed (at 8:30) and could he please feed LO if she wakes up before he goes to bed, and then to come get me. Well I didn't get got until 11:30, which apparently she had slept until 11, had a bottle, and now here it is 12:30 and Ive already got her rocked back down. I could definitely get used to this!
billyhorrible...good point and you were right! Passed out like a champ, but she skipped her pre-bedtime bottle bc she fell asleep so early. I am super awake after feeding her, unfortunately, so here I am.
Wow, we had a screamer at bedtime - she usually goes down around 9, and I knew she was drowsy after nursing, so I was rocking her to sleep. H was like, yeah, let's just go to sleep and put her down; she'll usually fall asleep after swaddling and rocking in her RnP. Not last night! H tried to soothe her and after thirty minutes and diaper checks, swinging, an ounce of a bottle, and all kinds of other tricks, he gave her back to me. 10 minutes of comfort nursing and she was out cold.
Now she's awake four hours later. Please don't repeat yourself, baby! I miss the six hour stretches, especially since I don't know when I'll get to pump now!
budders I totally understand what you mean. If only I could sleep as much as DH and LO, but I'm always up at 430am pumping. This doesn't sound too bad except I've not been falling asleep until 1 ish.

Well I just had a heart attack- woke up to sounds of DB fussing in a way that's not normal. Came in the nursery to find he wiggled the entire swaddle up over his face!!! I was using just the arm wrap off of the sleep sack (it detaches). Never again! I feel sick to my stomach right now.
He gets out of every traditional swaddle so it's probably time to be done. The only thing that work is binding his arms with an extra blanket, which I'm going to do tonight so he sleeps, but I might try naps without swaddling tomorrow.
I know we have to move to sleep sacks when we put her in her pnp and crib. I put her in her crib once swaddled and she got herself out of it. Just try a sleep sack with him?

Yeah that's what I'm thinking too. The timing couldn't be worse with me working more this week and his sleep already regressing a little bit, but such is life...
Congrats on the 8 hours, did you sleep that too? So jealous.
No, I got about 6.5. We stayed up and had a beer when she first fell asleep and then I got up to pump at 1:00. I did just get to sleep from about 5:30-7:30, though, since h took her when she woke up at 6 am.
carolyngrace That is terrifying! I'm glad he's okay.
What kind of swaddle do you use? Owen did that with every swaddle until we got the Love To Dream one which lets him use his hands for soothing while they are still loosely restricted to control the startle reflex.
We only got up twice last night!!!! It's been weeks since this has happened. I feel like a new woman! He went from 930-2 then 230-530 and got up at 715.

Baby girl was overtired yesterday (crap afternoon nap) so we put her to bed about 45 minutes early.....she did fine through the night, but woke up 45 minutes earlier than normal to eat. (4:30 indeed of 5:15). I have her down for an extra morning nap now:)

It's the sleep sack, but I wasn't using the sack, just the part that wraps the arms (it detaches) because it felt too warm for the sack. Yes, it was so awful! And totally our fault. No more using that part separate... I'll have to look into the Love to dream one! Especially now that he's starting to like his hands.
carolyngrace so scary glad you realized what was going on. What brand sleep sack? Ours doesn't detach. It's halo brand so it has wings.
Maybe he will sleep better w arms out anyway. We have been doing one arm out this week and she is sleeping amazing because she can suck her thumb which is putting her back to sleep on her own.
I think the RnP is on its last stretch. He used to sleep amazingly in it, but the last two nights he wakes up in the middle of the night just pissed off. I put him in the pack n play just to see if he'd go back to sleep since he usually sleeps through the night, and he was out.
@badwolf321 if you have a breathing monitor then I'm sure it's fine. Mine rolls partially to her side now anyway and Im not going to stay up all night rolling her back to her back.
