For the moms who are also formula feeding, which formula are you using? Max started with enfamil but he seemed a bit fussy/gassy. We switched to enfamil gentle ease and it seems better. Any suggestions? I might pick up some mama bliss drops
We use Similac Advance (blue can). I tried Enfamil with my first and he didn't handle it well so I went with what I liked/knew. I also put Gerber soothe Drops (probiotic) in one bottle per day. I've never used the generics. They all have Palm olein in them like Enfamil but Similac doesn't.

Does anyone else have a LO that wants to tummy sleep? I can get her to sleep in the rock and play at night swaddled on her back of course, but during the day she wants to nap on her belly. If I put her on her tummy for tummy time, she conks out and I just let her sleep that way. My boys were back sleepers.

It's a fat they use to make up the nutrition babies need in the formula. Similac uses an alternative blend of other oils. From what I've read those that have palm olein can cause harder stools and make them less frequent. It's not bad, but I do think some babies are just more sensitive to certain ingredients. My first didn't tolerate Enfamil so I didn't even bother with the samples I was given this time around.
DD2 had crazy amounts of mucus spit up. DD3 hasn't been too bad thankfully, but I think (for my kids and me) the amount of mucus is associated with how much dairy I've consumed the past 24-ish hours.
Ok so this isn't newborn related per say but in regards to a baby item....does any1 else have a wipe warmer? We registered & got one as a gift. It was my understanding that it shut off automatically after 10 minutes or you can manually turn it off. Ours will not turn off period. I eventually unplugged it and won't use it.
Anyone else have this issue? I'm not sure if I can return it for a refund.

We have two different ones by the same company, neither of which turn off unless they are unplugged. We just unplug DS' at night as not to waste electricity.
I will admit that I'm slightly confused as to why you would want one with an automatic shutoff? Anytime I unplug ours and forget to plug them back in, it takes a while for the wipes to actually warm up, so I'm not sure how that would work? Not trying to be smart, I'm just too tired to see it from any other perspective RN

I may have misunderstood the instructions/description. But that was how I read them. I may try to locate them to re-read or look it up online.
I just feel like I should be able to turn it off without unplugging it. But perhaps that's not the case.

Her cord stump fell off yesterday. The belly button looks funky and she woke up with a little bit of blood on her clothes, presumably from it rubbing. I stopped folding the diaper over in hopes that will help but should I be worried?
The cord stump/belly button freaks me out more than anything for some reason!

No worries unless it is "actively bleeding", in other words, gushing blood. We had smears on sleepers for about a week before DD's finally healed over.
And I hate it too. DH was afraid to put her in real clothes because of the rubbing, so I'm glad it's gone.

Babywearers, any tips for using a ring sling? I'm kinda intimidated to be honest and scared of baby falling.
I just got one and LOVE it!! It's so easy.I was told at my baby wearing group that it takes 4 times to get good a ring sling. Look up wrapping rachel on YouTube. She has a video on how to thread your ring sling and then also how to wear and nurse in it. Elias loves to be worn and zonks out immediately when I put him on.
Are any of your babies sweating when they get worked up? Last night during her witching hour, LO got hot and sweaty in the armpits and cold and clammy on her hands and forehead.
Of course I made the mistake of googling and the first thing that came up was SIDS. The next thing said sweating is totally normal, especially when they get excited about feedings or it's hot.
It wasn't that warm in our house and she was just in a onesie and light sleep sack, but then I took both things off her and put her in just a cotton sleep gown and it seemed to go away. It still freaked me out, though.

Is this happening to anyone else?
Wtf to the SIDS thing? How does that make any sense.
What I read said if their ears are read and their neck us sweaty then they are too warm.

Ok, me too. Her ears and the back of her neck were "fresh", but she was sweating elsewhere (armpits, feet) and her hands and forehead were cold and clammy. It was just odd.

D can soak a bed if he cries for too long. He gets sweaty even with the fan on. From what I've been told, it is completely normal.

Making sure baby doesn't overheat in a too hot/stuffy sleeping environment is one way to "reduce" the risk of SIDS, which is why a fan is also recommended to circulate the air. At least that's what they say. I call bs because we didn't have any risk factors except that he was a boy and apparently SIDS is more common in boys.

When did your LO (present or past ones) outgrow newborn size clothes? I didn't buy many bc I figured I'd have a bigger baby at birth. Well B was a month yesterday and still rockin' them. She weighed 7lbs9.5oz at her weight check on Monday.

My LO is starting to at 6.5 weeks mostly due to being too long. I've put her in some three month sleepers this week and they fit fine. She was 7.13 at her one month appointment so she's tiny too.

All 3 of mine outgrew them around 4-5 weeks. They were also all around the 10lb range at 1 month.

DD, around two months. She was 6lbs 14oz at birth. For E by 2 weeks haha. He was 8lbs 10oz at birth and 10lbs at his 2 week check up. I had this mothers intuition that he was going to be huge so I only bought 2 NB outfits. He wore them each once before he couldn't fit into them anymore.

My LO is 6 weeks and around 9 lbs. she can wear the newborn onsies, but not pants or sleepers she has long legs I guess. The sleepers she outgrew about a week or so ago. She was 21 inches at her 1 month appt

E is just over 9 lbs at 2.5 weeks and was 22 inches at birth. She can't fit newborn sleepers but can wear pants and onesies. I pretty much put her in 3 month sleepers from birth because of her length (7 14 at birth). Some are a bit big but her legs are too long for newborn. I can't remember with dd1. She wore them a lot longer but was a lot shorter too.

Ditto.
DD was 20 in and 6.12 at birth and by 5 weeks she was already almost 21.5 in and 9.0!
She's too long for nb sleepers but is only now getting too big for the other items in terms of girth. The cloth diapers don't help either!

3 weeks. She was 10lbs at her 1 month appointment. I have her in some 3-6 month. The brands vary so much in size it's crazy.

Ha! W is just now fitting into newborn clothes well. I don't know when we will be growing out of them. Tjat happened this week. He finally weighs over 8lbs. I dunno where he puts it because he is so lean!.

Most of J's newborn clothes are sleepers. She was 22 inches (only 8lbs 10oz) at one of her dr appointments last week, and it was around that same time that I noticed they were snug when she stretches out. We switched her to the 3 months clothes by the end of the week.
