Yesterday, against the explicit instructions of my OB, I took a gander "down there". Im still trying to process what I saw, but something just doesn't seem right. I think I have a sideways cavity??!!! Guise I'm scared. Lol
Post your postpartum stuff or questions here. I think TMI is a given with this thread.
Definite wtf happened to my belly button. I just keep wondering when my body will feel normal again. Like when can I 100% not feel my incision. I feel pretty great, but I still know it's there. Also the no lifting thing can go f itself.

I only have one specific spot about the size of a quarter near my incision that still hurts. The weird part is, it's numb to the touch. I'm assuming it's nerve pain because of that. The no lifting thing freaking sucks. Four more weeks of no lifting when I feel 98% fine is going to feel like forever. And +1 to the thinking the bleeding is over then getting a huge gush. Two days of nothing and then today it's as bad as it was on day 1. Gross.
The pooch is driving me nuts, Hasnt budged in a week or so. When does it go away?? Ugh. Also i am up 15 lbs and havent lost a darn lb since being home from the hospital - was hoping i wouldnt have to diet, that the weight would just fall off. Ha! And i feel "loose" all around my mid-section. I guess its the lack of ab muscles, but it feels like my posture is different and everything in my middle is out of place. Gah.
I'm laughing at some of these (better than crying!!) because I feel the same way. Minus the down there part as I had a c/s. I got the dreaded "when are you due?" last night. I think I ruined her day more than she ruined mine when I told her "I'm not. I had a baby 2 weeks ago" The look on her face was priceless. And to think I was feeling good about the weight I've lost already. My body will never be the same!!

My stitches itch so bad and my vag is so dry! Just walking is painful because of the dryness. I am also still having random gushes of blood and hemorrhoids that won't quit. Postpartum recovery is so glamorous.

Yesterday I was blow drying my hair upside down, flipped it up over and pulled a muscle in my back. I can barely walk and now wearing the Ergo really hurts. As if I wasn't uncomfortable enough already.

Yikes! That sounds awful. Hope your back feels better son.
Speaking of hair, I'm so not looking forward to mine falling out. Last time there was hair hair everywhere. I know it's coming.

mom2boxers unfortunately no, at least not dermaplast. I don't think I can put cortisone there, it's kind of up inside a bit. Soaking in hot water helps for a little while though.
I'm still sofaking emotional. Yesterday I cried about pizza and today I cried because H and I applied for summer teaching (we need the money) and didn't get it. As I was crying, the baby threw up all over my hair while I was burping her, though, so at least that made me crack up and forget about being an emotional wreck for a minute.
I have this weird pain in my tush. at first I thought it was going away, but now that my other pain has gone down I don't think that's true anymore. Not sure what it's from. Maybe just lying down so much after LO was born... I hope it goes away soon.
*Hugs* Im not loving my pizza dough tummy either. Holy stretch marks and wtaf happened to my belly button?!
I think it's the stretch marks. I only got one tiny one with C and got a boat load of angry red ones with E...
I hear you on the stretch marks. I got a total of zero the first 2 pregnancies, and zero with this one up until about 36 weeks. Then I'm pretty sure every single stretch mark I had avoided, decided to show up all over my stomach. I'm trying not to get upset but I'm pissed.

FTM, but I avoided stretch marks until week 37. Between week 37 and 39 I got a cluster of them around my bellybutton. Praying they will fade a bit as I get back in shape?
I've read some places that the topical retin-a creams are ok while nursing (whereas oral retin-a is not), while other articles say avoid retin-a altogether. Problem is, you have a limited window to apply those creams while the marks are still fresh - if you wait until they whiten, like when you wean the baby after a year, retin-a does nothing to help the marks. Thoughts? Have you asked your docs?

I honestly haven't even thought to ask my doctor. I guess I was just hoping they'd magically go away? Haha, but yea... I'll probably bring it up to her at my 6 week pp and see what she suggests.

Have you tried asking this on the breastfeeding board? They may have some better insight.
Does anyone else have super dry skin? I swear my face looks and feels like the Sahara desert. There doesn't seem to be enough moisturizer on the planet.

Are y'all that have babies older than a week still taking stool softeners? I've been taking 1 a day, which had been sufficient, but I guess I need more... TMI but I had the most awful poo today and my bum and crotch feel terrible from it. Holy ouch.

My baby was 2 weeks in Thursday and I had to take Miralax for 3 days in a row Friday-Sunday. Things seem better again today. Friday I thought I was going to die.
