Don't you go at 2 also? Was that just me? I went at 2 weeks PP and go back at 6. That does seem insane to just go at 6!
Did you have a section?
For me it was only at 6 weeks unless I had major complications.
And yeah, it's total bullshit to go that long without someone taking a gander at your stitches.
I did, but I'm pretty sure my practice sees everyone at 2 and 6 because my MW didn't remember that I had a c section right away and asked if I had any stitches, I just kinda stared at her and then she said oh you had a c section, i forgot. She didn't check me internally just my incision and we talked about nursing, support at home, and then asked about BC for the millionth time (bc a newborn isn't birth control enough).

My midwife told me to come back at 2 weeks BC I was bawling uncontrollably at the hospital when they came to check on me BC hormones. Normally it's 6 weeks at my practice unless they're concerned.
At my office everyone has a follow up at two weeks and six weeks regardless of how you delivered. Last time I had to call at about four weeks because I had an increase in bleeding. Turns out one of my stitches had worked itself out and was causing the bleeding. They were able to fix it.
Don't hesitate to call if you think something is wrong!
Is everyone who is at about the 6 week mark done bleeding? I'm hitting 4 weeks and mine is still going, although it's light and mucusy (sorry....)
Really want it to be done soon. I think with the boys I bled until at least 6 weeks.
I am protesting pads now. I'll be 6 weeks out on Tuesday, and I just stopped needing pads a few days ago. I should probably use liners, but a girl's gotta breathe YKWIM? I bled for much longer this time than the last two. I only needed pads for like 2-3 weeks before, now I'm all like, WTF is this haha
The second thing I bought isan OTC retinol cream, which is by far the most effective on stretch marks, but the thoughts on this are mixed. www.amazon.com/Retinol-Moisturizer-Cream-Face-Moisturizing/dp/B015ORL3B8/ref=pd_bia_nav_t_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=0EPJXV9ME799WK0XHJPB One OB (a friend) and one NP (at my pedi) said go for it (if it's non-prescription, and topical rather than oral, it's weak and won't make it into your breastmilk). Another OB (my older male OB who had no thoughts about stretch marks, haha) said retinol is always a no, and another NP I know said she couldn't officially recommend it to patients, because there weren't a lot of studies, but it was definitely the most effective and it was probably totally safe.
That said, I have only applied it like 2x in 2 weeks since buying it because I'm not sure where all that information leaves me. Have you done research about this and come up with anything?

Not going to lie, but I was hoping to piggyback off of your own research here. When I tried to search for products I was overwhelmed but the amount out there. Most of them seemed to be for wrinkles or a billion dollars. Did the stuff you read say why retinol was bad when ingested through breastmilk?

No, it just "hasn't been studied enough," so they give a hard no to oral retinols (like acne medication), but like I said, one OB friend and one NP said a non-prescription topical would never hurt your breastmilk. I think the other doctor and NP probably just don't feel comfortable saying that to patients because it hasn't been well-researched and, you know, liability, etc.
I will say that the research on the glycolix pads + Vitamin C shows it is a close second to retinol, so I'm using that every day and hoping it does the trick. The other tip is to wear a one-piece swimsuit this summer while the stretch marks are still relatively fresh... which is kinda fine by me anyway!

Just got back from my 6 week pp check up. You know how I said my tear wasn't healing? Yeah, so it was all raw and had partially reopened. So she fricking CAUTERIZED my vagina. Yes, it hurts just as bad as it sounds.
