A couple weeks ago we were at the park down the street and another family was there. DD and the little girl were playing together and the mom and I were chatting because I had the baby with us and she was expecting her third. They left and I was kind of regretting not getting to know the mom better. (I need friends with kids!)
Today we were at the park again and the grandma from that family came with one of the kids. We were talking about preschool and being a SAHM. She was saying she wished her daughter would make time for play dates with other kids. Even with that opening I still didn't say anything. I'm sad because I feel like we could be friends but I don't know how to make it happen.
Aww - just give your number and tell her to text you! You can do it!!!
The baby has had a lot of trouble taking a bottle. He'll do it if he's starving but he isn't a fan at all. He also latches and eats at the breast but doesn't stay latched. I just assumed he was distracted. I was looking in his mouth last night, it looks like he's got a pretty prominent top lip tie. I guess I'll mention it to the pedi next week. Isn't that something they should've been checking for?
They rarely do. LCs tend to overdiagnose it but pedis tend to way ignore it. Pediatric dentists, oral surgeons, and ENTs seem to walk the middle ground. My oldest has a severe lip tie that went undiagnosed until I found it. Since we didn't revise it when she was a baby we are monitoring it. Unless she falls and breaks it, they'll clip it and give her braces at 11. My middle had hers revised at 4 mo. by laser. Much easier that way.

DD3 has been waking up every 2 hours or worse. Can't tell if it is gas or normal 4 month sleep regression stuff (16 weeks tomorrow). Am going bleary eyed and crazy.

So, I've actually had 5 periods (plus a couple days of spotting) since ds2 was born. I started the pill at 4 w pp, but my body decided to pick a different week and so I've had them at 6, 8, 10, 12, spotting at 14, and then 16 weeks. I am hoping that since the one was just spotting, my body is adjusting to the pill. I do have an appt scheduled at the end of dec. The pp bleeding plus all the periods has been awful!

We had a super busy weekend full of family visiting. It was very nice and I'm glad dh had the time off.
We heard back from insurance, and they are covering an initial 7 PT visits for the torticollis. So, we go Friday for our first appt! The evaluation was great, so I am looking forward to it.

My almost 2 year old fell and broke hers just the other day. There was blood EVERYWHERE.
We had the 4 month appointment yesterday. She is 11lb2oz, over a pound bigger than her sister at 4 months. And we have extra fussiness today that I'm attributing to shots.
We had ours yesterday too. And today was also extra cranky.
gratefulgirl that's another worry of mine. If they don't fix it now, is he going to have issues with his teeth later? I'd rather just do it now. Braces are exxxxpennnnsive.

Are you on a progesterone-only pill or a dual pill?

Dual. It happened after ds1 too once I stopped bfing. I am hoping that the spotting last time means my body was just taking awhile to adjust.

Gotcha. I'm sorry!! That's a mess.
The progesterone-only pills makes me bleed. Constantly. I swore them off years ago then was talked into trying them again after the baby. NEVER. AGAIN.
I'd be so frustrated if it happened on dual pills. It's not supposed to!

annbuhdan just give her your digits!!!!! It's hard but I promise she won't reject you. And if she does she is a jerk and wouldn't be a good friend anyway.
We found our best friends in our last two cities by doing just that!
It's 6 months to jog with the baby and 1 year to bike with them in a bike trailer, right?
I have DD (3.5 mo) in the jogger w the car seat. Our last pedi said it was fine after eight weeks in the car seat but six months with justvyhe atroller. I did five miles with her yesterday and she didn't get jostled whatsoever. Fwiw I run on a jogging path so there are nearly zero bumps or dips.
There isn't a lot of documentation on the bike trailer. We have the iBert and will put DD in it once she can hold up her head with the helmet. S2 that was about nine or ten months.
I probably will put her in her car seat in the trailer sooner but still haven't done that yet.

Interesting. I plan to ask the pedi about it too, and I'll wait if they don't think she's ready, but it would be really nice if I could start running with her. I've been trying to run more but DH is really only home when it's dark out during the week and I don't like running in the dark.
I really miss being able to bike places instead of having to drive but I know I've got a while before I can get back to that.
ETA: Which jogging stroller do you have? I'm being really indecisive about which one I want.

We bike a lot and walk a lot as a family. I read a lot on guidelines for the bike trailer but there really just isn't a lot of research on it since biking isn't as prevalent here as Europe for example.
We have a bob single and double. We tried a cheaper version but ended up selling it and buying a bob. We get a lot of use out of our running strollers.

Sorry I have a lot of feelings about this.
I think a jogging stroller or bike trailer isn't a necessity like a car seat so the companies aren't going to make themselves liable for any damages from using it improperly. I was happy my pedi was gone with us using the stroller at a young age because it validated what I thought was a low risk decision.
I don't want to seem like I take risks with my kids health. I am fine jogging with them or biking if I take the proper precautions to ensure they're safe. I'm not a doctor but I am an engineer and feel confident that force from movement is minimal. Falling is obviosulu a concern on the bike but I am comfortable with that risk based on my experience and the trails on which we ride.

I definitely don't think you are reckless. I just figure it would be a good thing to discuss with the pedi since she is familiar with DD and her 4 month appt is coming up.

Thanks:) and I also asked our pedi! Although truth me told I'm not sure what I would have done if she had advised against it. I would hve asked for her rationale probably.
I miss running. TBT I just don't have the time. I could try running after H gets home but by then I am zonked from getting all 3 fed bathed and into bed.

I don't like that running means less time with the kids.i run during "lunch" at work and on the weekends. I also joined a gym near my parents so I can drop the kids off there to play and bathe while I work out. H travels a lot so it makes it hard to get it done.
My inlaws are in town so I have been able to work out more than usual.

Ditto. At my size using our jogging stroller to run with just one kid means pushing almost half my weight. It gets demoralizing. My only option is before everyone gets up. I am hoping to start that once DD3 consistently STTN.
There is a couple in our neighborhood who runs together with their 3 kids. He pushes the older 2 in the double. She pushes the baby in the car seat in the stroller. It is smooth pavement. I have all sorts of respect for them.
I'm already starting to regret our decision to go home for Christmas. My parents visited my sister for Thanksgiving and my sister got in several fights with them. I've now had my mom bitch about it to me (your sister is too extreme in her parenting choices, she pretty much said we were bad parents, she got angry when we gave her a gift, etc.) and my sister (mom sang children's songs to my son after I said we are against them, they brought up politics, they were on their phones too much, etc.)
Both my sister and my mom can be very judgmental and my sister is barely tolerable at the best of times. I already expected to have to listen to my sister's ridiculous and often offensive opinions about how any choices that are different from hers are pretty much the worst thing you could possibly do to ruin your child. Adding in fighting between her and my parents should make it even more fun. Maybe they will annoy each other enough that they won't have time to comment on my parenting, lol.

I know this doesn't work for you, but I used to run home from work some nights. I live 1.5 miles away from work so I'd map whatever distance I wanted and end up at home. I plan to do the same now, but I'll end up daycare instead. And in her bag I'll stash a warmer shirt for the walk home. :-)
